Following a recent performance at the Fifth Annual Scion Fest in Memphis, Corrosion Of Conformity has announced live assaults for August. In addition to the already planned participation at Gwar’s annual BBQ, the trio will perform a headlining show in Wilmington, Delaware before heading to South America for a string of dates.
The August shows mark a break from continued work in the recording studio on the band’s new album, expected for release in early 2014.
“We need a little escape from the studio,” comments vocalist/bassist Mike Dean. “We thought it would be good to see the light of the day a little bit. We are excited to play Brazil, Peru, Columbia, and Argentina for the first time ever. Of course returning to Mexico City and playing Gwar’s BBQ will be highlights for our summer as well. The new material is sounding really good but it’s time to get the perspective provided only by playing in front of a live audience. And we are talking about some very live audiences in this case.”
Updates regarding progress of the band’s forthcoming album came during the band’s late April West Coast tour with Danzig. Dean said, “We have a lot of lyric writing to refine but a lot of solid musical arrangements are in place. We plan to begin basic tracking for half the songs as soon as we return to North Carolina.” More...
Carsten Kettering, who has been playing bass for Majesty since the German Metal Attack tour, has just been officially announced as a permanent band member.
Majesty singer Tarek comments: "Carsten already integrated himself with the band in a perfect way. He is a terrific bass player and fits to Majesty ideally. Furthermore, he has a great personality."
Carsten also adds: "During the German Metal Attack tour in January 2013 I was asked by the band to help out on bass. The tour was a huge success within the band and for the fans and therefor it was obvious pretty soon that I become a permanent member of the band. I am looking forward to the upcoming shows and projects of the band and to help them to fulfill their musical ambitions."
The whole band wants to wish Alex Palma the best for his future, who could not play with Majesty anymore due to family commitments. Majesty is now looking forward to upcoming festivals and the Wolfsnaechte Tour. Find the dates here.
Cryogen has revealed the cover artwork for upcoming release "Continuum," which is due out this fall. Check it out below. The band also successfully ran a crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter to raise money for the album last month. More...
Werewolf metallers GrimWolf have released their latest music video for the song "Little Red," which is available below.
"We went sort of comic book-ish with this video, green screened the whole thing. We think it will be received well because the band does not appear in the video," jested the bald frontman Brent Wisdom. "This is a colorful video with plenty of support for cannabis enthusiasts. Though GrimWolf is not a stoner metal band in the traditional sense they do support all things marijuana."
GrimWolf is currently finishing up the writing process for a sophomore release due sometime in 2014 via the band's own label and production company 13 O'Clock Studios. More...
Hungarian act Slaves Strike Back has released a new single titled "Life," which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Balint Erdohegyi. Check out the track in the YouTube player below, or hear more from Slaves Strike Back over at Facebook.
Following the premiere of "I Silently Wait" earlier this week on Team Rock Radio, U.K. death thrashers Arceye have now unleashed an official lyric video for the track. Check it out below.
The track is the first real taste of "At First Light," the second full-length from Arceye and follow-up to the debut "The Divide Between Chaos & Order." Commenting on the album the band said:
“This album we feel we have really trimmed the fat on our songwriting and made it the best it could be! If we didn’t think that it kicked ass it didn’t make the cut! We also stepped up the production value, recording the drums In Foel studios and working with Scott Atkins (Sylosis, Cradle Of Filth, Amon Amarth, Gamma Bomb) on the mix and master. The Meaning of ‘At First Light’ is a representation of where we felt we were as a band when we were writing the album. Since our last release we have gained two new members, both with a writing influence and we’ve developed more of a vision of the music we wanted to play.”
Hudson Valley destroyers Roargh! have released their new single "Seraphim Of Pestilence & Disgust" via Bandcamp. Check it out below, and the band also comments:
"Here it is fans. Our new single. Downloadable at a price of name-your-own-price. That's right. If you want it for nothing, go ahead and take it. Just remember, your monetary support gets us closer to another full-blown EP of original material with production as good as this. We hope you enjoy the single, it's B-side, and a re-recording of 'High Impact Deth Machine'. You like? Share with your buddies. Spread RRRRRÖÖÖÖÖÄÄÄÄÄRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! to the world!"

Iron Bonehead Productions has announced July 25th as the international release date for a split 12" MLP between Deiphago and Ritual Combat, entitled "Accept the Mark." The label comments:
"Deiphago and Ritual COmbat, two of the metal underground's most authentically violent bands, make a pact with Satan for an exclusive split 12" MLP fittingly titled Accept the Mark. Both hordes each deliver two, characteristically blowtorching tracks: Deiphago create a humid human furnace of chaotic churn, including a cover of Sarcofago's 'The Last Slaughter,' while Ritual Combat create a ritualistic thrust of decimating decibels. Nuclear-powered violence + force in the name of Satan, exclusively limited to 500 vinyl copies, and all topped off by provocative artwork by Alexander Brown of BNB Illustrations - will you Accept the Mark?"

2. DEIPHAGO - The Last Slaughter (Sarcofago cover)

"What would make the debut album 'Het Wrok der Volken' different than others would be that the music is accompanied by vocals /without/ lyrics. Yes, only throaty combinations of vowels and consonants, sort of resembling a Draugr creature from Skyrim, will guide you through this album."

Six designers from the Taiwanese artist group, Yamyoukan, have completed a book entitled "Unsealing the Bú-Tik," which transforms classic scenes in stories recounted via Chthonic’s albums into striking illustrations.
The 32-page "Unsealing the Bú-Tik" recounts many exciting Chthonic tales including the headhunt from the album "Seediq Bale," the departure of the Takasago Army from "Takasago Army," the final battle at Sing Ling Temple also from "Takasago Army" as well as "Mirror of Retribution," and the travel through time and space in the underworld from Chthonic’s latest work, "Bú-Tik" (reviewed here).
Artists who took part in the project, all of whom have had all have had several exhibitions of their own works, include PAPARAYA, KCN, mos, Blaze Wu, Kuki, and Pump. In addition, the book features drawings by bassist Doris Yeh, vocalist Freddy Lim and drummer Dani Wang.
“It has always been our dream to turn the stories in our music into images. I feel so moved as I hold this illustrated book that has just been published in hand,” said Yeh. “I’m really grateful that Yamyoukan invited us to take part in the creation, so that I could pick up the pen again and reunite with my passion for drawing,” added Wang, a fan of comics since he was a child.

The public’s first undertaking of the auditory revulsion of All Pigs Must Die’s pending second LP, "Nothing Violates This Nature," happens today as Pitchfork drops the first single from the album. Check out the track "Silencer" at this location. The band's publicist also comments:
"A hateful unification of musicians hailing from Converge, The Hope Conspiracy, Bloodhorse and more, as All Pigs Must Die these assassins fuse some of the most straightforward metal/hardcore elements into anthems as instantly infectious as they are incendiary. Recorded at Godcity with Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise), from the opening note Nothing Violates This Nature comes alive with the expected All Pigs Must Die hatesurge, yet carries the band’s brutal delivery into new realms of dissonant punishment with even more Swedish death metal instilled into their craft.
"The second track from the album, 'Silencer' aptly delivers two minutes of unholy aggression which showcases all of these traits; a mangled, nightstalking, streetwise cousin of Entombed on an mass-murder bender. The proof is in the lyrics: 'I am among you as hunger grows, the life you're given is mine to hold. See you suffer, watch you die, your tortured ghost has come to this.' To be clear, here is nothing remotely quiet about Silencer."
The "Nothing Violates This Nature" release hits North America on July 23rd via Southern Lord, as with APMD’s debut LP "God Is War." Pre-orders for the new album can be found at this location.
In advance, a three-song 7” single for “Silencer” will be released on the band’s own Nonbeliever Records, the EP also including another new track from NVTN, “Sacred Nothing,” as well as an exclusive b-side track, “Taming The Slaves.” More...

Italian progressive act MirrorMaze has parted ways with vocalist Fabio D'Amore (Serenity/Pathosray/Fairyland). In an announcement on the band's Facebook Page, the band stated:
"One of the big news we were referring to some days ago regards the end of collaboration between the band and singer Fabio D'Amore. Since winter of 2009, Fabio helped us to complete our debut album 'Walkabout' with his voice, bass playing, professionalism and really supported our early shows after years of writing songs and rehearsing. But it's essential to understand that for the growth of the band, sadly, the long distance relationship, actual and future new and bigger commitments, leave the band with no choice other than finding a new person more in empathy with our current post-Walkabout line-up, finalizing the change we start bringing Juan Manuel Savoini and Fabio Nasuelli onboard almost two years ago.
"We want to underline that we thank him for his commitments in travelling for every single gig, just for the passion to sing our songs with us. Closed this chapter in the best and kindest way for both parts, we wish Fabio to succeed in his other bands and future projects and we hope to meet with him again somewhere around Europe in the future.
"This announcement has not to worry our most loyal followers, in fact MirrorMaze will return bigger than ever, beginning in September 6th at 2Days+1 festival in Veruno. All the infos of what MirrorMaze - Mark2 will look like are expected during next month...stay tuned for more!"
