After relentless touring (over 500 shows in the last 2 years) alongside of Terror, The Warriors, All Shall Perish, Full Blown Chaos, Becoming The Archetype and many more, War Of Ages took some time out of their touring schedule to go into Cathouse Studios (Nodes Of Ranvier, Bloodlined Calligraphy) to re-write and completely re-record their debut Self Titled album. "We felt like the original recordings of these songs lacked the heavy and aggressive energy that we put out through our lives shows" states vocalist Leroy Hamp. "We wanted the opportunity to showcase these songs in the way that they were always supposed to sound and it also gave us the opportunity to re-write some as well". As an added bonus, the band has recorded a brand new song titled "The Awakening" which many are calling the bands finest material to date.
"Fire From The Tomb" is 12 tracks of pure fury that is backed up by one of the strongest live shows in the genre today. Non-stop touring will follow the release of this album and the bands current presence on MTV2, Fuse, AOL Radio, Myspace and Pure Volume is sure to grab awareness of metal and hardcore fans nationwide. "The Awakening" can be heard on the band's MySpace page.

Grindethic Records has announced the signing of brutal death metal band, UNCLEANSED from Texas.
The band features members of BRACED FOR NAILS, INFERNAL DOMINION, SKOURGE and CRIMINALLY INSANE along with the ever prolific Shawn Whitaker (VIRAL LOAD, INSIDIOUS DECREPANCY...) on vocals.
The debut album, 'Domination of the Faithful' is expected for release late 2007 but demo tracks will be available soon. In the meantime live clips of the band can be viewed here:
Profound Lore Productions has announced that they will be releasing the North American edition of the new album from France’s ALCEST, ‘Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde.’ The label goes on to describe the deal and Alcest's debut full-length album:
"In co-operation with Prophecy Productions, Alcest has been a band that we’ve been quite obsessed (and that’s lightly putting it) with for the last while, especially considering we’re great admirers of pretty much anything sole-mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Neige is involved in (be it in PESTE NOIRE, MORTIFERA, and more recently the wonder known as AMESOEURS)."
"Nevertheless, with Neige being one of the most accomplished musicians within France’s black metal scene, he has already made an immense impression with Alcest from the first demo (which was pretty much nestled in black metal and was Neige’s first plunge into the genre likewise), to the magnificent debut EP ‘Le Secret’."
"Although ‘Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde’, Alcest’s long-awaited debut full-length, treads much further from Alcest’s black metal origins, the pure expression that has defined Alcest - and Neige as a musician - flourishes in full-force with this moving and emotionally driven work. To listen to ‘Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde’ (which translates into Memories Of Another World) is to experience a world free of pain, darkness, and despair, and to enter a kingdom of beauty and harmony. The scenario that such an album paints is one where pure joy and happiness triumph through waves of intense cascading light, where innocence prevails, and where the longing for nostalgia reigns supreme. The best way to describe ‘Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde’: overwhelming."
The tracklisting for “Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde” is as follows:
1. Printemps Emeraude
2. Sounvenirs D'un Autre Monde
3. Les Iris
4. Ciel Errant
5. Sur L'autre Rive Je T'attendrai
6. Tir Nan Og
Look for ‘Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde’ to be released in North America early-mid August.
You can hear some material from the band's forthcoming album on their MySpace page and/or download and MP3 of the track "Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde" here.
In another step towards supporting the Arabian metal scene, JordanRiver Entertainment have signed an exclusive licensing deal with UK based metal label Grindethic Records to release Lebanese extremists OATH TO VANQUISH's debut "Applied Schizop Science."

The licensing deal covers the M.E.N.A Region, East Asia and Australia, and the album is set to be released on the 7th of July 2007.
Described by many as one of the most extreme metal album of the year, the debut from OATH TO VANQUISH was released back in September 2006, followed by a successful mini-tour in Europe and various local shows in Lebanon.

According to a post at Blabbermouth, there is much truth to this statement.
SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed that he has been working with ANTHRAX on material for their upcoming studio album. Speaking to Germany's Rock Hard magazine, Taylor said of the possibility that he will become the new ANTHRAX singer, "It's been banded about. I'm not saying anything right now because all it's been is just talked about. Obviously, I'm really good friends with those guys. It kind of started as a joke. And then the more we talked about it, the more serious it got. I'm gonna at least help them out. It's kind of a dream come true ? ANTHRAX is one of my favorite bands. We're just kind of taking baby steps right now. I know that we worked on about eight or nine songs together that I've written lyrics for, and there was a song that I had actually written for them that I was just gonna give them the music for, and once this kind of happened, I had to turn around and write lyrics for it myself. But there's nothing definite right now. It's one of those things where it's like we're just gonna kind of play it by ear and just see what happens. So there's nothing definite. It's something that we're talking about ? it's something that we kind of wanna do. But I'm in two huge bands right now. So it's like I barely get enough time to sleep, let alone do another band. . . I'm gonna be busy, period. I'm just kind of honored that they would even consider me. These are people that I grew up listening to, these are guys that I had the privilege of getting to know on a real basis. To have them look at me and go, 'You know what? We would love to work with you,' it's such a huge compliment. It kind of makes me feel like I've come a long way in my life."

Despite suffering the evil eye of American TSA agents, experiencing Dr.Pepper, and playing in a few clubs smaller than your bathroom - Katatonia is coming back to the US with three of the genre's most interesting rising stars. Kicking off September 4, the tour will make nineteen stops around the country. Thats 19 chances to see this lineup before they sneak across the border to Mexico for round two!
Katatonia made their stateside touring debut last fall performing alongside Moonspell and Daylight Dies (North Carolina, US). With Swedish tech-metallers Scar Symmetry in tow this time around, Katatonia will be introducing Finnish neighbors Swallow the Sun and Insomnium to our weak beer beginning in Springfield, Virginia. Touring in support of their first live album, Live Consternation, it will be the first time long-time American fans will be able to experience a full set from this deeply talented group.
From the press release, "Live Consternation, set for American release June 5, is a stunning 5.01 cd/2.0 dvd package which features selections from the band's successful 2006 album The Great Cold Distance and choice cuts from their growing and popular catalog. EYEHATEGOD frontman Mike Williams has issued the following update:
"Hey kids — I'm out of jail, AGAIN. Just a minor technicality, though. It's all part of the game. Society fucks us all sooner or later in one way or another; but two months in Orleans Parish Prison really ain't nuthin' compared to the bullshit of everyday life. If, and I mean IF, you wanna play the Drug Game (all caps) you better be ready to deal with the consequences — it ain't NO joke. The time I did in Morgan City was like a fucking hotel stay compared to O.P.P. That's yer choice, though. Time runs out sooner or later, the hourglass is running for YOU, brothers and sisters. You get in the system, you STAY in the system. All is well though. I'm in one and a half pieces and that's good. Listening to DYSTOPIA and THE SMITHS and COCKSPARRER and drinking wine... Oh yeah, the judge, Honorable D.W., decreed that I'm to stay out of Orleans Parish for five years. Banned in N.O. So looks like no shows there for a bit, but there's always Jefferson, Covington, the world, etc."
Mike Williams previously spent 91 days in the Morgan City jail in late 2005. You can read his interview with Decibel magazine from December 2005 a few days after Williams made bail.
A good-quality video clip of SEPULTURA performing the song "Convicted in Life" live in Luxembourg during the band's last European tour has been posted at YouTube.
SEPULTURA earlier in the year finished filming the second video from their "Dante XXI" album, for the song "Ostia". The clip was shot on March 3 at a studio in São Paulo prior to the band's departure for their European tour. During the following week, the video crew and the main actor shot the outdoor scenes in downtown São Paulo. The script, which adapts the story from the book "The Divine Comedy" to the modern days, was directed by Geraldo Moraes.
SEPULTURA will embark on another European tour beginning late June. More...

DAATH has concocted a cocktail of metal’s most eclectic elements. The band will be releasing an exclusive remix of “Dead on the Dance Floor,” a track from their debut Roadrunner release, The Hinderers, via digital EP this summer. The track was remixed by Danny Lohner, ex-NIN and A Perfect Circle, and is due out in July. Daath guitarist and co-founder Eyal Levi states: “At some point in our lives each member of Daath has done their time with Nine Inch Nail’s music. They are a huge part of our musical upbringing and collaborating with one of their main minds is an honor that we are very excited about.” Describing their sound as “versatile,” Daath stray away from a traditional approach to death metal – weaving deep pockets of groove with electronic nuances, making a remix by Danny Lohner a natural progression for the band.
Having just completed a sold-out UK tour alongside metal juggernauts Unearth, Job For a Cowboy, and Despised Icon, Daath has returned to conquer North America.
Daath will hit the road on June 2nd and will tour through August 30th, showcasing their bombastic live show throughout North America. Their touring journey will begin as part of The Summer Slaughter Tour, featuring a bounty of respected extreme metal acts such as Necrophagist, Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation. Following Summer Slaughter they will play a string of select dates with Dying Fetus, Psyopus, and Covenance, until launching into this year’s Ozzfest. Daath will dominate the second stage with fellow underground acts such as Nile, 3 Inches of Blood and Chthonic and will be playing select Off-Fest dates with Nile. “This is a breakthrough time for extreme music,” Levi says, “Ozzfest has begun to pick up on the value of underground, truly extreme music. For us it’s not only a great honor, but also a huge opportunity to see how much we can help push the genre.”
Here's the complete list of Daath summer tour dates so far: More...

In all the wonderful years that I have been a part of The Gathering, we, as a band, have always strongly believed in sincerity: both personally and within our music. Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford has signed an exclusive deal with Riot! Entertainment involving the licensing and distribution of all Halford and Fight film and music releases. About the deal, Rob Halford said this:
Hello metal heads throughout Australia and New Zealand: I am pleased to announce my label/production company Metal God Entertainment has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Riot! Entertainment this month (May 2007). Together we will provide all future Halford and Fight film and music releases to the Metal lands down under. Many thanks to everyone at Riot! Entertainment for the great journey we are about to make together. I'm looking forward to seeing all you crazy Australian and New Zealand metal worshipers in the near future with both Judas Priest and Halford.
And on the same topic, Riot! Entertainment CEO & Owner John Howarth:
This is a huge boost for Riot! and one that is an absolute honour! I have been a massive fan of the Metal God since I was a kid and now to work closely with a legend like Rob Halford is very exciting and one we are all extremely looking forward to. I mean this is the Metal God and to have Rob on board is amazing, I am still stunned with the approach and the deal. It’s a great feeling to know people like Rob Halford want to work directly with you!
The first release of the deal, debuting in Australian and New Zealand in early July, will be the Metal God Essentials Volume 1 CD&DVD.
