Pagan black metallers Draugr have been filming a video for the track “Legio Linteata” from their second full-length album “De Ferro Italico." The following press release was issued about the coming video:
"True to its subject matter and the ethos of the band, which harks back to the countrie’s Pagan warrior past, the video was filmed in the ancient ruins of Alba Fucens close to Aquila and was directed by Gianmarco Colalongo. It is anticipated that when ready the video will make its internet debut on Blank TV. Stills from the video have been uploaded onto Draugr's Facebook page and can be seen here.
"Recorded and mixed by Davide Rosati in 2011 at the ACME Recording Studio in Italy, and mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox Studios in Finland, the album 'De Ferro Italico' recounts the deeds of a group of warriors whose devotion to the archaic traditions of the Italic cults of their ancestors put them in direct conflict with Rome and Emperor Theodosius’ decree, which, in 392 AD, led to the persecutions of all Pagan cults and paved the way for the rise of Christianity."
Commenting on the filming of the video, Dragur's keyboard player Ursus Arctos says: “We especially chose the ruins of Alba Fucens in which to film the video because they have an ancient and solemn atmosphere which we thought was appropriate for a song celebrating the actions of our ancestors who risked all to oppose the forces of Roman imperialism and the Christian religion.” More...

Ohio's Inhale Exhale has posted the following statement online about deciding to call it quits:
"As of right now, after touring 10+ countries, releasing 4 studio albums internationally, and shooting videos and singles and all that goes along with being in this band, Inhale Exhale is coming to an end. We will be playing Alliance Festival that we have up on our tour page, but have not said yes to any other show offers or festivals this year. We have only briefly discussed if we want to have a final show. We have become to busy with other endeavors or our hearts and minds are elsewhere.
"Thankful, always for all of your support and care for Inhale Exhale. When we were on the road all the time, and when we've been off, and only communicating through our albums and online pages.
"All of you that have shared your homes with us, hung out with us, sang lyrics with us, crowd surfed, had meaningful conversations (or ridiculous ones), shared your passion, joy or pain. And even your music and creative endeavors of your own. For that we thank you.
"Times can be tough in a band, but it comes with the territory. It's one of the most cut throat, stuck up, brown nosed industries. There are battles where you never thought there would be, and people against you, that you never thought would be. It changes you. But we're thankful for the journey, and that we could share our passion and art with you. And we value and feel extremely blessed with the lasting relationships we've made on and off the road through IE. More...

Letlive. will release new album "The Blackest Beautiful" on July 9th via Epitaph Records and has now dropped new music video “Banshee (Ghost Fame).” Check it out below.
“This song explores the tragic humor in entertainment as an industry as opposed to an art,” explains vocalist Jason Aalon Butler. “Sonically this track was a pretty suitable representation of the record's sonic spectrum. We also employed some elements of groove that we have always been fans of.”
“The mindset was certainly a holistic one when regarding this record,” Butler adds. “The vibe developed on its own as we wrote it. While we certainly indulged particular tastes, stylistically, as individuals, we made sure that the product culminated as something we could all enjoy. Essentially we all got to explore elements we had always wanted to and somehow found a way to marry them tastefully on one album.” More...

"After many years of service, Daniel 'DL' Laskiewicz will no longer be writing music for The Acacia Strain and we wish him the best in all of his future endeavors.
"As a band who tours, it is very unfair to have people who have stuck by us and tell them that they have no say or can't be an active participant. (Thank you for life Tony Diaz).
"As a band, our perspective is for all of us to be involved and be a team, not only on the road but for every aspect of the band and all be a part of it. Richie and Devin bring experience and passion to the table and offer a forward thinking perspective to this band which has been wanted and needed for some time.
"We plan on getting started right away with the writing process to give you some new songs soon, and of course a new album. We are excited to start this new chapter of The Acacia Strain and look forward to seeing you all on tour!"
Fuck the Facts is just two weeks away from the release of new EP "Amer," due out June 18th, 2013. Now the band has released another track from the release. Check out "Vent du Nord" via Metal Sucks here or in the player below.
The EP's track listing is as follows:
Louisville, Kentucky-based black metal perpetrators Anagnorisis have completed the recording of their second LP, and the beast is now in the final stages of preparation before being cast upon the populous this Summer. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Based on a Greek phrase for 'discovery,' Anagnorisis was founded in 2003 by Austin Lunn (Panopticon), and the act set out to experiment with merging symphonic and death-infused black metal styles. They recorded the debut album Overton Trees and released it in 2007, the album instantly gaining the band a widespread following beyond the local sector, to which they tormented with live attacks. Lunn moved on and several other lineup changes took shape over the following years since, with the band releasing two EP’s released in the interim – 2009’s Alpha & Omega, and 2012’s Ghosts Of Our Fathers – with each new incarnation and new recording showing new innovations and expansions on their thesis, and their blackened metal continually taking the form of something more insidious.
"Their first full-length since 2007, Anagnorisis now confirms the title of the new opus as 'Beyond All Light,' the album containing the band’s most expansive material to date, following months of production as the band recorded everything themselves at guitarist Zak Denham’s own One by One Studios. Now completely harnessed, the masters have been passed to Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams) who is currently handling mixing and mastering duties. The band will unleash Beyond All Light on their own in a plethora of configurations, including CD, LP, cassette and digital formats. Confirmed release dates will be announced in the coming days."
Catch Anagnorisis live:
7/27/2013 Vernon Club - Louisville, KY@ Louisville Deathfest w/ Enfold Darkness

Zak Denham - guitars
Samuel Hartman - keyboards
Chris Smith - drums
Josh Mumford - bass
Belphegor, which recently pushed back the band's new album release to early 2014, will soon be hitting France's Hellfest. Helmuth comments:
"Last week we played Steelfest open air in Hyvinkää, Finland, a magnificent town close to Helsinki. Always a pleasure to bring our chaos to the North. What a great festival, brutal line up, and a brutal show. Hails to all people that celebrated diabolical-death-musick with us.
"Also much gratitude goes out to Toni 'The Damager' Törrönen, Jani Lane, the whole Steelfest crew for their hospitality. Mörken (hope i spelled it right) and the hotel room party people. Your rule! Finland - we will return!
"Hellfest Open Air in Clisson France on June 22nd is next. We are set to bring our 20 year anniversary show to the Temple Stage at 19:50-20:40. This will be the 3rd time that we have been invited to perform at this massive festival. An honor to return to Hellfest and shred this convent again. Are you demons ready to kill? Who´s coming?"

Adrenaline Mob, which released the all-covers "Coverta" EP earlier this year (reviewed here), is now parting ways with Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater). Portnoy comments:
"It saddens me to announce that the 4 upcoming shows in Latin America this month supporting Halestorm will be my last with Adrenaline Mob.
"Unfortunately, I have scheduling conflicts that prevent me from being able to fully commit to the band's future activities at the moment.
"As I cannot be in two places at the same time, I don't want to hold them back and have to wait for my schedule to re-open up to resume activity.
"I'm very proud of what we started together and the music we made over the past two years and I wish the guys all the best in the future."

Israeli metal act Dark Serpent has issued the following statement about parting ways with the band's guitarist for an affliction that many share:
"Important updates - some bad news & some good news: after many years of fruitful cooperation, both on and off stage, Dark Serpent and Giardello Caravagio (guitar genius, founding serpendude, brother) part ways.
"The parting is due to Giardello's on-going struggle for life with a severe case of tits-addiction. 'The serpents are like brothers to me... but they have small-ones, and that just won't cut it anymore,' says Giardello.
"We just couldn't afford his addiction, it was becoming a burden – fans, media, stage workers, our moms – he grabbed'em all. Giardello's huge spot in the lead section will be filled by long-time friend Yuval Kramer (ROTA, Amaseffer).
"Kramer, which up until now acted as DS's producer, recording-engineer & sexual adviser, will join the serpents' ranks as full-time member. Kramer's joining to the band is a tremendous and welcome event. He's a brilliant guitarist, a prodigious musician - and he has a car!
"On a more serious note – DS would like to thank 'dello for his immeasurable contribution to the band and for the many years and great moments we shared."

After last year's record "Sentinel," Spectral Lore is back with a concept album shared with the U.S. one man band Mare Cognitum.
"SOL" is not a typical split album, but a collaboration on many levels, starting from the conceptual and moving on to the musical. As the bands declare: "Themes and riffs have been cross-referenced and transfigured, structures have been put in proportion, lyrics have been written in parallel. Conceptually, it is an attempt at a kind of cosmological philosophy; searching the vast, cold expanses of the universe(-s) for traces of meaning and purpose. What it is out there that is fundamental, absolute and shared? What can we learn about ourselves by looking outward, to the void and the inanimate?"
The track listing is:
1. Mare Cognitum - Sol Ouroboros (29:10)
2. Spectral Lore - Sol Medius (25:53)
3. Mare Cognitum / Spectral Lore - Red Giant (14:24) More...
