On May 16, 2013, I interviewed Tom Angelripper of Sodom and Onkel Tom. The interview focused on Sodom's new album "Epitome Of Torture" (see review at this location. The discussion happened just prior to the Teutonic Big Four show at Beastival, and Tom discussed his desire for a show or short tour in North America with Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and Tankard. At the conclusion, he shared his thoughts on the passing of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman.
The transcribed version of the interview is pending, but I present the audio version here:
Kultika is streaming the new song "Water," which can be heard below. The band also comments:
"Water is a bridge between the aggressive metal-orientated riffs and the more mellow post-rock sides of our album, 'The Strange Innerdweller,' which will be released this autumn. The completion of this album took over a year to accomplish, partly due to our own exigency regarding the musical structure and partly due to our producer Lukinich Attila, who helped us analyze, in depth, the fundamentals of each track, and more importantly, the construction and concept of the album as a whole.
"The Strange Innerdweller will contain seven songs that, although independent and different in influence, will give way to the same overarching message expressing a part of the ideologies shared by the members of Kultika."
The album's track listing is:
1. Rising From the Sea
4. The Strange Innerdweller
5. Cries Of Eiram
6. Devouring Vibe

Parallax is a newborn female-fronted Ukranian band. On June 15th, 2013, the group's debut EP "Sputnik" was released across the web, while physical copies will be coming in July.
Vocalist Helle Bogdanova comments: "Although our music has obvious oriental and Middle Eastern backgrounds, the concept of our album is mainly based on space topics, in particular on Mars, first ever human-made Earth satellite Sputnik-1, and inevitable planet war, which leads to death of a huge population, but provides us with a hope that someday the life on Mars will resurrect." On April 22, 2013, I interviewed Alexander Krull, the frontman for Atrocity and Leaves' Eyes. We discussed Atrocity's new album "Okkult" (see review over at this location), the first of a trilogy about historical stories involving occultism. The album marks the band's return to the extreme metal of its roots and away from the gothic/industrial side that has been prevalent over the much of the last decade.
Krull discusses the stories, the new video for "Pandæmonium," the opening track of the album (see video over here, and the band's return to its death metal roots.
