German thrash metal band Bloodattack have signed a deal with Bastardized Recordings.
Bloodattack comments on the signing, "After we have launched their recent album with all life ends records in 2008, we tried to sign to a new label for our new release in order to prevent ourselves from stagnation and in order to make progress. We´re totally happy and overpowered that we got that deal with our friends from BASTARDIZED RECORDINGS, we know us from the hardcore scene here since we listen too the music, maybe 20 years now. It´s more for us than a simple 'label-deal' – it´s a beginning of a great area of friends who work together for the scene and the music! At this point our homeboys from bastardized are the best thing that could happen too us… Producing with bastardized recordings does not only mean that BLOODATTACK found a label it can identify with, but also to have a great cooperation where one side supports and pushes the other side, reciprocally." Italian power metal band Elvenking has issued the following studio report:
"DAY 10 – March 30th:"
After a quite difficult journey (I nearly missed my plane for Germany), I finally got to the local train station where Dennis was waiting for me. Time to have a tour of the place and I was already in front of the microphone. By the end of the evening I had already finished the first song!"
"DAY 11 – March 31st:"
"A very hard working day! We started in the morning and layed down 3 songs plus some harmonies. I worked on two powerful and melodic mid-tempos and on a faster and harder one which is probably gonna be the opening track. The way we worked was really stimulating..and fast actually eheh! We concentrated on the interpretation, the mood and the dynamics of the vocal parts. That was a fuckin hard process, in fact at the end of the day I was pretty tired (shattered actually!), but also really satisfied of the result. Time for a pizza and a giant beer in the evening and that was all the fun I was allowed to have..’till the next session!"

Shock rock veteran Rob Zombie has announced that he will be entering the studio soon to record his fifth studio album. Rejoining him for the album will be drummer John Tempesta, as well as Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. A message from Rob Zombie reads:

We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week The Red Chord drummer Mike Justian shares one from their recent tour of Japan:
March 24, 2010. Tokyo, Japan. The Red Chord was performing the last show of a mini tour with Between The Buried And Me. Anticipation was high as the curtains opened to reveal an excited TRC for a zealous Japanese crowd. The heat was hot and my biorhythm wasn't cooperating with my under-nourished appendages, but the show was nevertheless happening and the crowd's enthusiasm was undeniable. During our third song, a large Caucasian mook of a man appears on the stage, meandering around as though he was looking for his beer. When, from out of nowhere, he runs from behind Greg (Weeks), pushes his bass into his head and dives off of the stage. I thought nothing of it until I saw that Greg was stumbling and bleeding profusely from his eye.
Obviously I was concerned so I gave him my towel and shortly after he exited the stage for a number of minutes. Unsure about whether he would be able to continue, Mike and I jammed for a bit, hoping for his return. Eventually he did come back but had to play most of the set lying down and half blind. It was at this point that my respect for Greg reached an even higher plateau than I thought possible, for his willingness to recognize that the show must go on even if your eye explodes.
The Red Chord hits the road in July with The Summer Slaughter Tour 2010 with Decapitated, The Faceless, All Shall Perish, and more.
Check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.
