Tri-State area metal act Legionary has checked in with the following announcement about splitting with the band's bassist:
"Due to unfortunate circumstances, Legionary and Mike Carra (bassist) have mutually agreed to part ways.
"Even though Legionary does not have any scheduled shows, I still have a few things that I want to achieve by the end of this year and next, and Mike is just not able to keep up with things at the moment. I also have been spending a lot of my time working with Strychnia, so we just have not been able to get together and work on things like I had hoped.
"On any future Legionary recordings, I may even just record the bass, or ask someone really good on bass to do it when the time comes. This doesn't change anything though, those looking for the 'new' 'Arcane Divisions' and another new Legionary recording will still get them. Also, thanks to all the new fans who have joined on Facebook, SoundCloud, and on YouTube... Your comments and support have been great!"

For its next release, Southern California label Melotov Records sets it sights eastward for a split seven-inch featuring two ferocious young East Coast hardcore prospects: Old Wounds and Trenchfoot. The Old Wounds/Trenchfoot split is set for an August 13th vinyl and digital release on Melotov. The following press release was also issued:
"New Jersey trio Old Wounds, whose debut album, From Where We Came Is Where We'll Rest, dropped in February to a storm of acclaim, have been touring all year, refining their live game alongside bands like Full of Hell. Taking their cues from metallic hardcore greats like Turmoil, Buried Alive, and Indecision, Old Wounds inject new life into the crushing, exhilarating vibe once wielded by that older generation of bands. Pitchfork.com described Old Wounds' debut as 'lashing ahead at a furious hardcore clip... [it] pairs the maudlin pages of high school diaries with a grown-ass band's concision and power.' With a schedule of over 70 shows so far in 2013, the workhorses show no signs of slowing down. They are confirmed to play the heralded The Power of the Riff Festival in Los Angeles in August as part of a full US summer tour and they plan to hit Europe this fall with none other than Trenchfoot.
"Old Wounds' side of the Melotov split was recorded by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations (Pulling Teeth, Full of Hell) and mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound (Capitalist Casualties, Magrudergrind).
"From upstate New York's Hudson Valley, Trenchfoot are another awesome young band carrying forth the metallic hardcore power of their older brothers' era into a new realm. Their dark, heavy sound nods to the manic depression of Cursed and the epic crust of Tragedy, and they have cut their teeth in the past two years playing with every hardcore band that matters, from Agnostic Front to Converge. Los Angeles-based act Twitching Tongues has crossed the Atlantic and will embark on a new month long European tour assault tomorrow, sharing the stage with Harm’s Way for the entire trek. Dates are available below, and the following press release was issued about the band:
"Relentlessly savage, utterly memorable, and at all times compelling, the sophomore LP from Twitching Tongues takes all of this devotion to the next level. With nearly forty minutes of uncompromising crossover fury, In Love There Is No Law melds elements of Carnivore, Obituary, Celtic Frost, Life Of Agony, Sam Black Church, Cro-Mags and Sheer Terror into an instantly mesmerizing, morose and wholly distinctive alloy of metal, hardcore and beyond. Modernizing the works of the masters, with each hook and chorus the band’s punishing and primitive stylings grow more memorable than the last. In Love There Is No Law was recorded, produced and mixed by guitarist Taylor Young at The Pit, then mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, and will see release on August 20th via upstate New York-based Closed Casket Activities."
Central Texas shredders Critical Assembly are out of the studio, booking summer tours, and releasing new album "From Ashes Comes Honor."
The new album features six original tracks with hard hitting groove oriented tones. "From Ashes Comes Honor" was recorded and produced by Joey Duenas of Un Loco and Anew Revolution, in the capital city of Austin, Texas.
Critical Assembly also had the pleasure of pre-production work with John Moyer (Disturbed, Adrenaline Mob) who helped out on the track “Soap Box Scurvy.” The band decided to return to Masterdisk Studios New York with Roger Lian for this album. Roger has worked with Pantera, Muse, Damageplan, Korn, Rush, Overkill, and many more. The band also comments on the new album:
"This sophomore release has a different feel than their previous album. Tracks like 'Facetime with The Dead' explore the bands darker and heavier songwriting approach, while 'The Blood Vendetta' starts as a typical thrash metal song, and then hits home with a huge hooky vocal chorus. There are no tracks that sound the same here. They all find their place in today’s ever evolving metal genre."
"From Ashes Comes Honor" will be distributed worldwide in late July, 2013 through iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, Google, CD Baby and other publications. More...

Guitarist/vocalist Eviga from Dornenreich has checked in with the following statement about working on the new "Freiheit" album:
"Friends! The last months in tranquility and seclusion were highly fruitful. I was able to elaborate the entire album as far as the guitars are concerned - and I'm deeply pleased with the result.
"During the next months the three of us will create the last violin-lines and the drums. When we'll have recorded the whole musical core I will delve into the lyrics and the vocal dimension of the album.
"We will enter the studio by the end of October... and, actually, we can hardly wait! This album will be a stirring journey without any doubt.
"It will consist of eight songs - some based on acoustic guitar and violin, some including electric guitars and drums. The songs are extremely varied and highly vital - and they resonate with a playful beauty which invokes something that I have been trying to approach for many years. To see all that come into artistic reality means much to me.
"What else can I tell you so many months in advance!? I'm not sure. So feel free to ask some questions and post them here. I will collect and answer them soon. Have an unforgettable Summer! We surely will - and we'll keep you posted."
