Billboard.com reports: Sebastian Bach has plenty of musical activity on his plate -- but joining Velvet Revolver is not part of the mix.
The former Skid Row singer, who was among the early names rumored to be taking Scott Weiland's place, told Billboard.com that his close friendship with Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose -- who sang on three tracks on Bach's 2007 solo album, "Angel Down" -- and a focus on his own music would making joining Velvet Revolver "awkward" at best.
But he did confirm that Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash did contact him "out of the blue ... to talk to me about working together, but it was not Velvet Revolver. It was a completely different project, and I can't tell you what it is 'cause it's mind-blowing, but I've been sworn to secrecy on that. But nothing's happening right now with me and him."

Guelph, Ontario based hardcore/grind act Drudgery has streamed their entire debut album, "Rust," online at the band's MySpace page. The album will be released through Year of the Sun Records on July 15th, 2008.
"One of the ultimate goals for any band is for as many people to hear the music as possible, and in this day and age it's great how easy it is to be able to make your material so accessible to the listeners," says drummer Matt Connell. "We worked really hard on ‘Rust', from the writing stages, to the last stages of the recording process, and wound up making a disc that we feel delivers some pretty raw and adrenaline pumping grind. We're stoked for people to check it out."
Drudgery is the new project spearheaded by drummer Matt Connell (Fuck The Facts, Exhumed) and features ex-Dear Black Diary bassist Steve Ferraro on vocals. The group's debut EP was recorded at Frozen Solid Studios in Guelph, Ontario by Matt Connell.

Spark Is A Diamond has had to cancel their remaining tour dates this month due to their van breaking down. Here's a statement from the band:
"Hello everyone. We are extremely sorry to inform you that we have to cancel the rest of our tour dates this month. We had engine failure in Indiana and were forced to leave the van. It is going to be over $2000 for parts and labor for a new engine. Unfortunately, we don't have the money for that right now so we had to rent a U-haul truck to get us and all of our gear back home safely.
"Due to this enormously large bill for the van engine, the $900 for the U-haul truck, and over $300 in gas we had to pay to get all of our gear home, we are in some financial trouble. If you could or would like to help us out at all, please do by buying a t-shirt, or even just by donating a dollar or two, or even pennies. Every little bit helps and we would greatly appreciate it.

"We can't thank you enough for all of the support you have already given us. It is why we are able to do what we do. Hope everyone is well and hope to see you all very soon.

With devastating demos under their sleeves and college degrees finally out of the way and on their wall, the mountain metal quartet, The Sign Of The Sourther Cross, is poised and ready to take southern culture and its heavy heritage to the masses.
The band comments on this new alignment: "We're beyond excited to begin a long lasting and fruitful partnership with Season of Mist! It's a deep mark of pride to become part of a family which has brought along so many influential artists. Steeped in moonshine and almighty riffs, THE SIGN OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS' music breathes oil into your lungs while it elevates you up the Smokey Appalachia Mountains. As southern boys, we take pride in our past as we trudge on and strive to make our mark in the modern world. This effort is now strengthened by the hand of this heavy record label. We are looking forward to play most of the new songs during the upcoming shows."
Finnish metallers, Silentium, have issued the following update:
"After a while of silence the band has retired to a studio in Central Finland. At this point the drums, the bass and most of the guitars have been recorded. Some of the vocals have been recorded as well, although Riina and Matti are due to return to the studio in July. The band has some major surprises reserved for their loyal fans, who have been more than patient in the wait for the new album. It literally kills the rest of Kingston Falls to have to cancel these dates coming up, but the only way to come back out on top is to do this and move forward with a fully functioning team! We are all really pumped and have some very exciting things coming up that we cannot wait to share with you guys! Thanks to everyone for their support over the last few years and we will see you a lot sooner than later!"

Amon Amarth will be playing their first four albums in their entirety at four shows at Zeche in Bochum, Germany in December. The band will also be playing a best of mix from "Fate Of Norns," "With Oden On Our Side" and the new upcoming album.
Bloodshed Over Bochum shows are as follows:
Dec. 28 Once Sent from the Golden Hall
Dec. 29 The Avenger
Dec. 30 The Crusher
Dec. 31 Versus the World
The shows also include:
- Meet and greet with the band
- Special merchandise sold at each show
- New Year's Eve Party on December 31st
The band comments: "We've had plans of doing a smaller club show tour for quite some time now where we'd mainly play older songs, but that has been very hard to pull off. So when this idea was brought to us of re-visiting the 4 first full-length albums at Bochum in Germany, we were all up for it. This will be a once in a life time chance for us to play and our fans to experience all the old songs that we don't have room for in the setlist anymore, but are still too good to not play! Of course, we'll also play songs from the new upcoming album, as well as 'With Oden On Our Side' and 'Fate Of Norns.' Since these shows will be unique we thought we'd might as well record the shows too! We're thrilled over this event and look forward to the shows. It will be some hard work and preparation playing around 50-60 different songs in 4 days. Some songs we haven't played for a very, very long time and some we've never played live at all. But challenges are something that encourages us!"
Tickets for the four shows are available at this location.
In another news, Amon Amarth will be touring in North America again this fall. The tentative schedule is as follows: More...

Baltimore, Maryland's Trapped Under Ice has reportedly had their van burglarized in Florence, Italy. Here's a statement being circulated on the band's behalf:
"Tour has been a great success but unfortunately today one of the vans was broken into in Florence. The two U.S. bands have lost passports, laptops, all clothes except what they were wearing, a lot of the merch, money, etc. Basically it's a pretty bad and messed up situation.
"They are going to try to get to an embassy/consulate in Germany tommorow but the intention is for the tour to continue so this is a plea - come out to the remaining shows and support these two bands. These are genuine hardcore kids in need of some help - support by getting your arse to a show and buy whatever merch they might have left."
