After nearly six months in the studio, THE VISION BLEAK have just finished recording their third album, "The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey."
"The album contains nine songs which are definitely among the heaviest and at the same time the most atmospheric and most stringent pieces of music THE VISION BLEAK has ever released," says Ulf Theodor Schwadorf about the follow-up to 2005's very successful album "Carpathia". "The Metal part - read: the guitar riffs -of THE VISION BLEAK's sound certainly has made it more into the foreground on 'The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey', but still there are bombastic orchestral sections, acoustic guitars, sitars and lots of atmospheric details featured in all songs."
The band isn't promising too much here, as the song 'By Our Brotherhood With Seth' will prove: seth.prophecyproductions.de

British newspaper The Guardian has concluded its question of who the greatest living Englishman is and the result will make heavy metal fans very happy! Motorhead mainman Lemmy has been given the title. For more information read the following article...
"Let it be stated for the record: Lemmy, singer with Motörhead, is the nation's greatest living Englishman. Some say this accolade belongs to Tony Benn, but attending one of his appearances will cost you up to £35 a ticket and doesn't get you Ace of Spades played by a sexagenarian who sinks two packets of Marlboro Reds and two litres of Jack Daniels a day.
Next month, London sees the start of the South Bank Meltdown festival, the summer's annual pick'n'mix of musical culture. This year's curator is Jarvis Cocker, another national treasure. The band Cocker has chosen to launch Meltdown is Motörhead. I would like to think - no, I believe - there is nothing kitsch about this choice. It isn't the same as people who wear AC/DC shirts to the NME Awards. I feel that Jarvis Cocker understands that Motörhead epitomise rock'n'roll's core ideal, that "the only way to feel the noise is when it's good and loud", and that they are a beacon for defiant celebration.
Lemmy may have hit many a duff note in the past 30 years, but not once has he told you a lie. I was 10 years old when I first heard this band; I was just a week older by the time I owned my first Motörhead record. A month after that I had an iron-on T-shirt. Five years later and I was knee deep in mud at Donington Park, flailing in terror as people fell under my feet, watching in amazement as a firework screamed its way toward Lemmy on the stage. I remember it now: he went ballistic. And then he played Ace of Spades.
Ace of Spades is, of course, the one song loved by everyone who has heard it. Its moral is so clear it could well be Moses on the mic, its timing so deft it might just be the greatest shimmy in rock'n'roll. "You know I'm going to lose, and gambling's for fools, but that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live forever." In the original studio version Lemmy then warns you to not "forget the joker", but of late the song has been brought up to date. While power chords throb from his Rickenbacker bass and his mouth moves up to a microphone stationed higher than his head, the 61-year-old greatest living Englishman instead says "... but apparently I am."
And who wouldn't drink to that?"
Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has posted his thoughts about performing at the Download Festival at Donington Park.
What a great day yesterday in England! After a trying stretch of making some shows in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, and Finland we limped into Download yesterday, tired and worn out.
Thank you for making our performance so enjoyable for us. When I saw everyone, especially those up front, I couldn't control the rush I felt.
It was also kewl backstage too, seeing Clint from the old Sevendust days, Josh from Buckcherry, and the great guitarist from Dragonforce, and the M.C.R. guys was just a great all around vibe.
I hope you enjoyed the webcast and I want to thank the organizers for Download for not only having us, but for making the webcast happen too.
At this rate, while this was one of the shortest set lengths I have played in the UK for sometime, I look forward to playing for you again in 2009
Megadeth performed on the first day of the festival under controversial headliners My Chemical Romance. Linkin Park and Iron Maiden also headlined the event with Slayer, Machine Head, Stone Sour and Suicidal Tendancies all performing aswell as many others.

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has revealed that his hospitalisation on the eve of their Download 2006 appearance has formed the basis for many of the songs on the band's forthcoming album 'Untitled'.
Davis was unable to perform at the festival after he was admitted to hospital with idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, a disease that makes it difficult for sufferers to form blood clots and stop bleeding.
"I almost died," Davis tells Kerrang!. "Death was completely on my mind when I was writing the lyrics for the new record. It really made me think about life, where it's been and where it's going.
"It made me rearrange the things in my life that I hold dearest and changed the way I thought about my family and my family in Korn," he adds. "I remember thinking to myself 'What if I couldn't be in the band anymore? I've got to do this. It's who I am.'"
Davis' near-death experience has inspired the song 'I Will Protect You', a heartfelt message to his sons, Nathan, Pirate and Zeppelin.
"While I was sick, all I could think about was that I might die and then my sons would be growing up without a dad," says the vocalist. "That was really hard. The song is for them and it's really, really heavy."
Davis tells Kerrang! that the Bakersfield nu-metallers are hoping to bring their 'Family Values' tour over to the UK in early 2008.
"We're hopefully going to come back in January and February," smiles Davis. "We're going to try and bring a cool package and and play shows up and down the country because we haven't done that in seven years. We want to do it so bad."
The album - produced by Atticus, who worked on the band's 2005 release 'See You On The Other Side' - will be released on July 30 through Virgin. A new single, 'Evolution' will be released on July 16.
Metallica have been confirmed to play this year's Live Earth show at Wembley in London on July 7 to raise awareness about climate change.
The band's short set will be available for download after the event from iTunes and www.livemetallica.com and all proceeds will go to the Alliance for Climate Protection and other international non-governmental agencies.
"We keep waiting for future generations to solve the problems; to invent cleaner technology; to pay the costs. That's the same as passing the buck," says drummer Lars Ulrich. "I want the buck to stop here, now. I want lawmakers and laws to impose change. Nothing else will keep this world safe for my sons."
The following day, Metallica play their very own headline show at Wembley Stadium.
Possum of Altitude TV's "Metalogy 101" interviewed All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte and bassist Jeanne Sagan backstage in Los Angeles on their recent tour with Bullet For My Valentine.
Self proclaimed "most un-metal" part of the band, Labonte hints at possible tour stops Europe later this year prior to going into the studio to record with Adam D. (Killswitch Engage) producing, in addition to already confirmed Mexico dates:
7/26 Mexico City, MEX – Hard Rock Live
7/27 Monterrey, MEX – Café Iguana
7/28 Torreon, MEX – Lumen 400
7/29 Guadalajara, MEX – Teatro Estudio Cavaret
Atlanta, Georgia heavy rock trio Light Pupil Dilate, who blend elements of classic metal (Slayer, Sepultura), progressive rock (King Crimson, Yes), punk (Nomeansno, MDC), hardcore (Converge, TITD), and 90's D.C. rock (Shudder to Think, Fugazi) into a smoldering mess of sound and fury, have signed to Lifeforce Records.
Light Pupil Dilate formed in 2002, and 2003 marked the release of their self-recorded/produced LP, “Cascades,” on the drummer’s Vert Records. Two tours ensued in 2004 and 2005. They’ve shared stages with the likes of Dead and Gone, Submission Hold, Totimoshi, Kylesa, Meatjack, Today is the Day, Mixel Pixel, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Skeleton Key, Withered, Mastodon, All that Remains, Burnt by the Sun, Cream Abdul Babaar, Cutthroats 9, American Heritage, and Teeth of the Hydra…to name a few.
Light Pupil Dilate’s Lifeforce Records debut “Snake Wine” will see a October 30th US release and a February 2008 European release.
Co-produced by the band and producer extraordinaire, Matt Washburn (Mastodon, Norma Jean), “Snake Wine” delves further into LPD’s strange mix of post-punk meets tech-metal sound delivering a thick juicy slab of venomous rock n’ fuckin’ roll.
You can hear 2 upcoming tracks from Light Pupil Dilate’s upcoming album “Snake Wine” on the band's MySpace page.

BAM MARGERA PRESENTS…VIVA LA BANDS, VOL 2 is the latest in the skating/antic superstar’s unique musical vision shared with his fans. In addition to previously announced unreleased tracks from CLUTCH, CKY, and VAINS OF JENNA, exclusive additions to the track listing from IN FLAMES, CHILDREN OF BODOM, PLACEBO and THE BLOODHOUND GANG have just come in!
Jimmy Pop explains how THE BLOODHOUND GANG’s ‘romantic’ contribution to the compilation, "Screwing You On The Beach At Night" fits in (or doesn’t, in this case)… "I love so many of the bands on Viva La Bands 2. It's unfortunate that our contribution sticks out like a sore thumb. A big, gay, sore thumb." Placebo is also glad, albeit less comically, to be on the compilation, "Placebo is pleased that 'Soulmates' was hand-selected by Bam Margera to be a part of this project. He has exceedingly good taste," the band adds.
The CD/DVD combo will hit stores on September 4, 2007 and feature these unreleased tracks and much more. The compilation also brings together many of Bam’s other favorite artists such as GWAR, DIMMU BORGIR and THE SOUNDS, as well as newly acquired tracks from KILL HANNAH, VIKING SKULL, AND GNARKILL. The DVD component to this rocking release contains 30 minutes of never-before-seen Bam footage – a must-have for the ‘Jackass generation.’
