After releasing two mini albums ”The Fallen One of Flames” (1992) and ”Promethean Gift” (1993) Black Crucifixion had grown tired of black metal. The Finnish pioneers of dark metal started to create music with more variance and began the recordings for their debut full length album “Faustian Dream” in 1996. The album was never released, until now, after ten years it has been finalised and will finally come out on SoulSeller Records (NORTH & SOUTH AMERICAN RELEASE THROUGH PARAGON RECORDS).
The album contains nine tracks that display the darkest melodies and the most northern metal ever released and is expected to be released on July 1st. You can check out an mp3 at soulsellerrecords.com.
ANGTORIA, the new Swedish/British orchestral/metal band featuring female singer Sarah Jezebel Deva (CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS), composer Chris Rehn (ABYSSOS), CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus and Tommy Rehn (MOAHNI MOAHNA), have posted two full-length songs — "Do You See Me Now" and "Six Feet Unders" — for free download on their official MySpace profile.
ANGTORIA's debut album, "God Has A Plan For Us All", was released in Europe in April via Listenable Records. The mixing process for the CD began on January 14, with acclaimed producer Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, MESHUGGAH, DEVIN TOWNSEND, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, BEHEMOTH) stepping in during the initial phase, and Tommy and Chris completing the mix at Sidelake studios with Micke Öhlén. The mastering was finished February 14 at the Cutting Room in Stockholm by Björn Engelmann, who has previously worked with RAMMSTEIN, IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, DIMMU BORGIR and WITHIN TEMPTATION, among others. The initial cover concept/idea was developed by Sarah. The CD is available in two versions: a standard jewel case version and a digipack version with a bonus track.
ASESINO — the death metal/grindcore project featuring ex-FEAR FACTORY/BRUJERIA guitarist Dino Cazares and STATIC-X bassist Tony Campos (on bass/vocals) — have posted their video for the track "Regresando Odio" ("Returning the Hate") at their official MySpace page.
The "Regresando Odio" ("Returning the Hate") clip — which was directed by John Buchanan of Demon Video — received its MTV2 debut on this past weekend's edition of "Headbanger's Ball". According to the band, this marked the first time in MTV history that a music video by a Mexican death metal/grindcore group with all lyrics sung in Spanish has been broadcast on the network. More...

This concert will mark TOOL's first-ever Korean appearance and METALLICA's first show in the country since April 1998. More support bands will be announced soon. Tickets are available at this location.

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told England's BBC Radio 1 that the group's new album is likely to be released in the summer or early autumn of 2007. Ulrich explained, "I think we've realized that the creative process works a little slower for us than it used to, and we're OK with that. It's not a bad thing, unless, of course, you're waiting for a record." Ulrich added that the band now is far more relaxed than the turbulent state in which it recorded 2003's "St. Anger". The drummer said, "Everybody's getting along, having a great time...Back on ('St. Anger'), it was just a very different experience 'cause we had to kind of get it back together. Now everything's cool."
New Jersey progressive death metal band, Divinity Destroyed, post a new blog on their myspace:
"Hello Friends, Fans, Disciples..
I've decided to make use of this blog and update you guys on some news and stuff. Okay, first off we are sorry for not being able to perform this past Saturday the 24th. As some of you may have heard Mark was diagnosed with a poopy bug and had to be taken to the hospital for removal of the poopy bug. After intense, intense...intense bed resting, he is now home and masturbating.
Aside from that, Divinity will be heading into the mid-atlantic states of the US of A in mid July. We are currently booked for 2 dates in Maryland, Virginia and I believe South Carolina is in the works. If any of you guys down there read this and want to see us in your town send us some info on venues or bands in the area and we will see if we can work something up.
Finally, we realized that we do have a shit load of new songs that haven't left the confines of our practice area. The number keeps growing too. What all this means is we have
material for a new album. Although we don't have a set date for recording, I personally don't feel it will be long till we have to put something together. I think the new songs are really melodic and straight forward the majority of the time, sort of like Haven and Void. I think you guys will enjoy them. But I do have to say we were working on one last practice and this part is seriously the fastest shit I have ever had to play in this band. Ever.
I guess thats it for tonight. I'll try to update often. Thanks guys

Ferret Music has formed a new imprint called New Weathermen Records, who in turn have signed Heavyheavylowlow. Here's the official word:
Ferret Music has announced the formation of a new imprint to the label to be known as New Weathermen Records. The imprint is the brainchild of Nick Storch, booking agent to high profile artists such as Atreyu, Coheed And Cambria, Unearth and As I Lay Dying. Inspired by bands he works with such as Fear Before The March Of Flames and The Number Twelve Looks Like You, the new imprint will focus on bands that are heavy but have an arty component to their music as well. The label's first signing is San Jose, CA's HeavyHeavyLowLow, whose music is a combustible mesh of noise, hardcore, tempo changes and vocal shifts. Speaking on the impetus for the new label, Storch explains "I want to sign bands that are challenging and will hit the listener on a visceral level and make them feel something, rather than focusing on mainstream appeal."
HeavyHeavyLowLow were introduced to Storch by Thomas Erak of the band The Fall Of Troy who are of the same mind musically. "Thomas thought I would enjoy this band and I heard their demo and was blown away. They have an insane stage presence that is unlike any of the bands I see around today. The vocalist has a star quality and magnetic yet disaffected vibe that reminds me of Jim Morrison of the Doors. I wished that someone would sign them so I could work them. I kept joking with Paul [Conroy, partner at Ferret Music] asking when he was going to give me my own imprint. Finally he asked me if I was serious and I told him I was and New Weathermen came to be."
Speaking on the new addition to Ferret Music, label President Carl Severson comments: "Nick has been a friend and colleague for a number of years. I have been thrilled to watch his roster grow and see what he has developed into as a booking agent. He is also tapped into this new music scene with the artists he is bringing into New Weathermen that wouldn't necessarily make it across our radar. The label will complement what Ferret Music is doing as well as bring something new to the table."
Heavyheavylowlow's new album is expected to hit stores in September.
Converge continues to track material for their next Epitaph Records release. Here's an update from the band:
"Recording is going well so far. Percussion and bass have been recorded in their entirety. Some vocals are also completed with more to follow throughout the week. Guitar tracking is also underway. We hope to begin mixing in the next week or so. We've had some guests perform on the album so far: JR Conners (ex-Cave In, now of Doomriders) and Alex Garcia-Rivera (Bloodhorse, ex-454 Big Block, ex-Give Up The Ghost) added a bit of percussion during a recent session. Kurt [Ballou] and Jake [Bannon] also added a bit of percussion as well during that session. Vocally, Jonah Jenkins (Septic Youth Command, ex-Only Living Witness, ex-Miltown, etc.) will be contributing shortly, as well as Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy). We all excited to have those two aboard as guests on this recording. It means a great deal to us."
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer visited Kevin & Bean of KROQ in Los Angeles on Friday (June 23). The pair also performed acoustic versions of 'Twisted Transistor' and 'Coming Undone'. You can listen to the interview and performance at KROQ.com (Windows Media stream).
In related news, Korn are out with their live DVD "Korn Live On The Other Side," taken from the band's Hammerstein Ballroom show in 2004. You can watch "Twisted Transistor" off the disc at Yahoo! Music.
