Vandal Hearts has posted the new EP "Devils And Details" online, which can be heard below. The band also comments:
"We just released a new EP. It'd be really cool if you had a listen to it. At the very least, have a listen to the power ballad at the end, which will literally make your knickers spontaneously combust.
"This may cause extremely painful second degree burns. There is also the possibility of all other pairs of knickers within a twelve foot radius igniting, causing unwanted collateral damage. I would suggest watching it minus underwear, but would mean you risk slipping off your chair and injuring yourself. I guess what I'm saying, is if you're female and going to listen to this song, the safest way to do it is probably naked in a field." More...
Each week we check in with metal musicians to get their best stories from live shows.
While these tales usually center on the mayhem of the mosh pit, today guitarist Christian Larson from Venomous Maximus shares a story that takes place backstage during a Q&A with the infamous Glenn Danzig.
Christian had this story to share about an ill-advised question to Danzig regarding the Samhain box set that took years to finally see release:
In the late 90's in San Antonio at a metal fest, SOD headlined and saw some of my 1st Swedish metal bands. I sold my Peavy amp to get a ticket to the show. As we rolled up into the parking lot, a local Houston band asked us if we wanted to buy backstage passes for the whole fest. So we got to roll around back stage and further enticed me to get into playing music more.
We were allowed to sit in on a press conference with an interview with the singer of Morbid Angel and Glenn Danzig. Some magazine was asking Danzig when the Samhain box set was coming out. He was very annoyed by the questions and gave very smart ass answers back, obviously not wanting to talk about it.
So I guess my buddy Willow wasn't paying attention as he was gazing into Danzig's eyes (keep in mind this room is packed wall to wall with press and fans). So my buddy gets the last question and he asked the same question about the box set and all the press and attention is on him. No one could believe he asked it and Glenn didn't respond and just walked out the conference.
The Venomous Maximus album "Beg Upon The Light" is due out in North America on July 2nd via Napalm Records. For more info on the band and upcoming tour dates, head over to the Venomous Maximus Facebook profile here, and be sure to check back in next week for more heavy metal Pit Stories. More...

Urna has checked in with the following announcement about releasing a new album later this year:
"After four years of silence, Urna strikes back, new album Mors Principium Est will be summoned on October 2013.
"Joined by eon from Progenie Terrestre Pura the band unleashes a new opus of unpredictable music showing off its best album to date; musical extremism merges with the band’s inborn avantgardish attitude in a new mind blowing sonic identity.
"Under the visionary artistic direction of Francesco Gemelli, produced and mastered at 322Studio and with special guest Greg Chandler from Esoteric, Urna marks the borders of madness in music.
"ATMF is going once again to support the band producing its third full length album and an artistic new beginning in doom, URNA was a founder band for this label and will continue in shaping dark art under this artistically independent banner."

Agathodaimon's "In Darkness" was recorded at the Kohlekeller Studio with producer Kristian "Kohle" Kohlmannslehner.
The album - due out June 28th - will include eight tracks, while a bonus track will be included on the limited edition digipak.
Guitarists Sathonys and Thilo are now offering som insight on the tracks off the album. Check out the track by track break down below.
Thilo: "Adio" is the first song that we rehearsed and composed with the new line-up. Right from the beginning, there was the idea to have a melodic chorus along with double-lead guitars and an aggressive verse with 'fast' vocals. Manuel delivered incredible drumming here! The piano-overdubs in the chorus were created in a late stage of the production - such things can happen if I'm left alone in the studio... luckily everyone did like this element. By the way, this song consists of half English, half Romanian lyrics."
Thilo: The intro of "Somewhere, Somewhen" was composed by Kohle and me during the pre-production. The horror-like character gets the listener directly into the proper mood. A very emotional song, the melodies come directly from the heart (maybe I should do folk music), besides, the lyrics are very melancholic. My personal favourite of this album! Oh, and it's the only song on "In Darkness" that features a classic guitar solo ;) My highlight: When the ride-cymbal starts at the end of the song and Ash cries out like a maniac! (I believe he still hates me for pushing him to the limits there.)

Los Angeles thrashers Warbringer entered the studio today to begin recording the follow-up to "Worlds Torn Asunder."
The band will once again be working with producer Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Sepultura, Symphony X, etc.) on this currently untitled new full-length at his studio, The Omen Room, in Garden Grove, California.
Set to record for a month’s time, Warbringer has already written 11 songs. Drummer Carlos Cruz comments about entering the studio:
"Moving forward with our 4th full-length album has been a tremendous feat for the band and we are proud of the album we've written. The growth of the band with two new members (guitarist Jeff Potts and bassist Ben Mottsman) has produced a very eclectic sounding album that covers a lot of musical ground within the Heavy Metal genre. It's been a true collaboration and all five members have been able to write and contribute something new to the collective WARBRINGER sound. We hope all our fans will keep an open-mind towards our musical growth, but we promise no one will be disappointed.
"Deciding to work with Steve Evetts again was the best decision for the group because of our prior experience with him. His personality, attention to detail and ability to sonically capture what the band represents will make for an amazing 4th album experience. Two years is a long time to improve upon your craft, so we're excited to see what has become of Steve as a producer, and for him to see what has become of Warbringer since our last album. Looking forward to recording in the Summer So-Cal heat!" More...

"This all costs money and we have always done what we do without label support. So we're asking for you guys to help support what we're doing and we will give you epic stuff in return.

'Machine' to me is just a straight up in your face Born of Orisis song. It's got an epic intro, intense orchestral content, heavy keyboard breakdowns, a great structure, impactful vocals and of course some gnarly guitar shred. It definitely hits hard from beginning to end. We can't wait to head out and play it live all summer long." More...

"Thank you so much to any of you who have supported us, whether from the beginning or if you're new to our world! We've had a blast for a few years, despite our member changes and general difficulty in finding our feet.
"We will continue to write music together in our spare time, nothing will change there. Maybe in the future we will have another stab and come back under a different name, with some ball/ovary crushingly badass riff filled tunes for your listening pleasure.

German modern folk act Satatio Mortis posted a preview featuring clips from the band's upcoming new release "Das Schwarze Einmaleins." The album is set for release on August 16th via Napalm Records.
According to the press release: "The arrangements show a band at the height of its creativity offering the listener heavy rock guitars, sweeping bagpipe melodies and catchy refrains. Frontman Alea der Bescheidene presents the full range of human emotions with his characteristic voice. He presents himself ready to attack one moment and in the next second, soulful and vulnerable. Lasterbalk der Lästerliche wrote lyrics that are provoking, thoughtful and profound. He talks about the out of control desire for growth and profit or the creed ("Wachstum über alles") where the golden times lie only in the past ("Früher war alles besser"). In addition, straight forward titles like "Krieg kennt keine Sieger" state that in war, there are no winners. Songs like these show the masterful skill of the band to unite melodies of medieval times with topics of this day and age. Thus, making the band an important and relevant voice of our generation."
The album was produced by Thomas-Heimann-Trosien, who elevates the band's new tracks to a whole new level and gives them a crystal-clear and powerful sound. "The superior production creates the feeling of an energy-filled and crackling concert -- in your own living room!"
