Demon Hunter was unable to perform at The Norva in Norfolk, Virginia and Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina on June 24 and June 25, respectively. However, the shows were not cancelled and all of the support bands -- Living Sacrifice, Oh Sleeper, The Famine and Avent -- performed as scheduled.
Demon Hunter was forced to sit these two shows out as their singer, Ryan Clark, fell ill earlier in the week. His voice was gone and he had to rest and recuperate to get it back. Demon Hunter will resume the Stronger Than Hell Tour on Thursday, June 26 at Rockettown in Nashville, Tennessee.

The fourth trailer for "Death Prevails," the full-length debut from south German death metal maniacs HACKNEYED, can be viewed on YouTube or below. The CD, which was produced by Roger Grüninger and mastered by Achim Köhler, is due on September 2nd via Nuclear Blast Records USA. Two more trailers will be made available before the CD release.
According to a press release, "These five youngsters are just as convincing as MORBID ANGEL must have been when they released their first album back in the day! Not only is the band already a bright star in the sky of extreme metal but is also the youngest band Nuclear Blast has signed ever since. Probably HACKNEYED are also the youngest death metal act on the planet as the average age of the band members is just 16 years (guitarist Devin being just 14 years old!), but already shredding and grooving as hell — mark these words!
"Being founded in early 2007 the band has already achieved to play an amount of successful shows as well as draw attention from several bigger bands and also of Achim Ostertag (organizer of Germany’s Summer Breeze festival and CEO of Silverdust Records) who presented the band to the deeply impressed Nuclear Blast staff that signed them right away!" Montana rockers Recoil bring their own spin on iconic rock and metal favorites from the 80’s and 90’s to the bars and festivals of the Great Falls area. Metallica has revealed that they recorded a cover of Iron Maiden's "Remember Tomorrow," off the band's self-titled debut album. Here's the update from Metallica'a MySpace blog:
"We were honored to be asked to participate in Kerrang's exclusive 'Maiden Heaven' tribute album... one of those super cool Kerrang! CD's that you can only get when you buy the mag. In this case, the issue (1219) goes on sale in the UK on July 16 and for those of you somewhere else, you can pick it up online at http://www.kerrang.com.
"We picked 'Remember Tomorrow' from Iron Maiden's self titled first album... it was basically the blueprint for songs like 'Fade to Black' and 'Sanitarium' and when we were jamming our way thru most of our favorite early Maiden songs, this one stood out and also came together somewhat effortlessly... we had a blast recording it at HQ in the middle of all the insanity of the last two weeks of finishing the new album back in May. Some of our other favorite bands recorded their own versions of Maiden songs too... Machine Head, Trivium, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed And Cambria, Dream Theater to name a few. There are more details in the current issue of Kerrang! or on their site... or check out the "official" press release here.

Sony is giving one lucky fan the chance to win a prized copy of this seminal record plus a copy of every album in the band's back catalogue (subject to availability). Five runners-up will also receive a copy of the new album too. The contest runs from now until Setpember 1, 2008, which means you'll have to wait for the new album past its release if you've won. Over eight years have passed since AC/DC last released "Stiff Upper Lip." The band has not set an official title or release date for their long-awaited new album, but the band is aiming for mid to late 2008 release. The follow-up to "Stiff Upper Lip" was produced by Brendan O'Brien (The Offspring, Rage Against The Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Audioslave and Velvet Revolver) and recorded at a studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The new album will also be AC/DC's first for Sony BMG's Epic Records label, which reissued the band's back catalog a few years ago. Once the recording sessions for their new album are completed, rumor has it AC/DC will embark on a "farewell" tour later in the year, meaning that they could be breaking up or retiring for good. The band last did a full scale tour in 2001, but toured again briefly in 2003 before disappearing.
It was previously reported that AC/DC will sell their new album exclusively through Wal-Mart Inc. There has been no new information released on that matter to date, however.
Billboard.com reports that Motley Crue is frustrated that a long-awaited movie about their lives is going nowhere. The band first announced in 2006 they had reached a deal with MTV Films/Paramount to start producing a biopic based on their best-selling autobiography, "The Dirt," which was co-written with Neil Strauss.
But the band is now looking for new partners, bassist/lyricist Nikki Sixx told Reuters. "We're trying to get them (MTV) out of the way to make this movie that should have been made a long time ago," he said.
"MTV has become bogged down in its own way. It's a channel that used to be hip and has now actually become unhip. We signed with them because we believed they were right, but they haven't come to the table," he said. "We need to find the right partner. They are not the right partner."
Paramount Pictures and MTV Films, both units of media conglomerate Viacom Inc, declined comment.

"As things have progressed in the studio, it has become apparent that we are going to need a second guitar player. This album focuses more on the guitar and less on electronics. We wanted to be able to reproduce that sound live and even though we were going to wait until the album is complete, a couple of appearances have been booked to promote our new iTunes release 'Live And Raw.' So we need someone sooner than later." says Zane. More...
