Three piece grunge band Nukeateen (nuke-a-teen) re-formed last year after splitting up in 1999. Ten years later they got back together to record their back catalogue of 48 songs that were popular live but never made it to the studio. These 48 songs will be made into 4 new albums one released every year over the next 4 years. This revival caught the eye of legendary producer and former member of The Butthole Surfers and Ween, Mark Kramer. Kramer will be mastering all four albums.
The band will be recording the drums and bass guitar parts in their own studio in Northamptonshire, UK. Then it gets sent to Australia to record the guitar and vocal parts, because the band's singer/guitarist now lives in Melbourne. The first of the four albums, "Reginald's Revenge," is due for release in July 2010 and the band plans to tour the U.K. in August to promote it.

U.K. black metallers Abalam have issued the following update about seeking fan submissions for their upcoming album:
"We are at present putting together a 'spoken word' track for the album. The track will be very atmospheric and requires multiple voices to attain the 'feel' that we're looking for. Rather than do it 'electronically,' which goes against our way of thinking, we would like to have as many people involved as possible.
"What we require is that you record a passage written by yourself themed about your life, beliefs, (anti) religion, your inner demons, fears and passion, sex, death, in whichever language you wish.
"You will need to send us the track in mp3 format. Maximum length would be around 3 minutes. You don't need to be in a band (although of course we are very happy to receive work from our fellow artists). Everyone that 'appears' on the track will be credited. We believe that this could be a very exciting exercise. If you would be interested and have the time to help then please send us a message for further details. Thank you."

Navene Koperweis also commented, "I'm truly amazed that a small project I started in my bedroom at my mom's house has become something worthy of a Metal Blade release. What more could I ask for? I couldn't be more proud and honored!"
"This record has been complete for an extremely long time. Navene and myself are extremely pumped to finally have the beast released." added Jonny Davy. More...

DevilDriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer has checked in from the road with the following tour report:
"Today is Mike's blog day! Today we are in Vienna, Austria with Fear Factory. We've been here probably 5 or 6 times and every time we are here I try to go visit Mozart's old house that has been turned into a museum. But every time its either closed or completely on the other side of town. I'm not even going to try today. But it would be cool to see.
"I heard the show is sold out. Hopefully that statement is accurate. If so, it should be a great show. Hope all of you are doing well and I can't wait for all of you to hear the new record. For those of you that felt Pray For Villains wasn't heavy enough, this record is like getting a cinder block covered with acid hurled at your head by King Kong. ENJOY!"

British industrial metal legends Godflesh has been confirmed to headline this year's edition of the Supersonic Festival, which takes place in Birmingham, England from October 22nd- October 24th. This marks the group's first show in the United Kingdom for over ten years.
Frontman Justin Broadrick stated: "We cannot even recall specifically the first Birmingham Godflesh show. Oddly, we think it was supporting SUICIDE in 1988, just after the release of our first Mini LP on Swordfish, the record label of Birmingham's best record shop. So it's only natural that the first Godflesh UK show in its original form in over 10 years, comes home to its birthplace, and for whom better than Supersonic, the organisation responsible for keeping Birmingham on the map with underground music, be it metal or otherwise. It is with great pleasure that Godflesh returns to its roots."

The band commented on the recordings and new label:
"Work on our second album is almost finished. We recorded 10 fantastic songs. At the moment we are listening to first mastered tracks. It’s metal, it’s powerful, heavy but at the same time melancholic and thrilling. You can expect also some softer tunes four one moving ballad. We are 100% satisfied with what we’ve done – so the plan was fulfilled J. Now we are also focusing on photo session, video, etc. More...
The 2010 edition of the Caos Emergente festival, which was set to take place from July 16th - 18th, has been canceled. The organizers of the festival issued the following statement about the cancellation:
"It is with great regret that for the first time we find ourselves forced to make a statement of such nature, so we thank all those who read this document, to convey this message to others as accurately as possible.
"During the last months we have worked very hard on this project, on its new configuration and logistics and in particular on the line up for the 2010 edition. This cancellation is obviously a huge frustration because of all the work invested, all the bands which were yet to be announced, everyone involved, the long hours spent, the thousands of euros hopelessly lost and, above all, the disappointment to the thousands of followers of the festival.
"At the end of 2009, after a series of meetings held with the purpose of relocating the event, BigDog Productions was approached by Guilherme Pinto, developer and producer of Cellus Eventus resident in Vila Maior, in order to arrange a meeting with local political entities and possibly hold the event in that region. Virginia thrash metal band Project: Failing Flesh has issued the following album update:
"Count Back From Ten is complete!! A few new tracks are now posted on Myspace. As some may know our friends at our last label Burning Star Records have run out of money (not shocking, considering the times) and sadly had to close down the label. We are still deciding what method to take to release CBFT. Whether we want to take the somewhat time consuming method of dealing with a new label.. or just do a self release and possibly license it... or even make it available via download.. or some combination of all these options. No matter the method some promos will be printed up and close friends and fans will hopefully be able to hear this thing very soon! It's been a long process but we are completely happy with the result and that is the only important thing...not time tables, labels, etc."
The tracklisting for "Count Back From Ten" is as follows:
01. Count Back From Ten
02. White Light Response
03. Inanimate Objects
04. The Potential to...
05. Patient Zero
06. The Void Between Skin and Bone
07. Percussion Fracture
08. Irrelevant Thoughts (Prong cover)
09. Lose Lose Situation
