Daytona Beach, Florida's The Autumn Offering have just announced plans to release thier new self-titled album on August 31st through Victory Records.
Vocalist Matt McChesney had the following to say:
"I always thought we were unfairly lumped in with the 'metalcore' bands. I always thought we did much more musically and were a bit more sophisticated than your typical good-cop/bad-cop band. It takes balls to admit this, but yeah, we wrote a few songs that were mistakes. We made a push, half heartedly, for the mainstream. Yet I feel like a few bad choices don't taint two albums that I love dearly. There were a million reasons to make a record like this. Also, sensing the death of that genre of metal, it made no sense to make a record that resembled it. I think we came out of it all, integrity intact."
"The Autumn Offering" track listing:
2. Born Dead
3. Exhale The Locusts
4. Fed To The Lions
5. Hessian Blade
6. Death Mask
8. Among Wolves
10. Myriad Black
11. A Return To Ashes

Irish dark metal act Primordial has just issued a statement in regards to the band deciding to part ways with drummer Simon O'Laoghaire.
Vocalist Alan Averill had the following to say:
"We need someone who is determined, committed to their craft, stepping up to the plate of touring and playing big festivals. Previous experience would, of course, be preferable. No half measures, no glass-is-half-empty attitudes. Someone who will bring their style and energy to the band and, of course, a fucking killer drummer. Nothing less. There is a new album in the offing, the possibility of standing on the stages of some of the biggest metal festivals in 2011 and, of course, some form of income from those….
"It's preferable they know extreme metal, of course; that's where we came from, but more importantly, the Maiden's, Sabbath's, Motohead's and Thin Lizzy's of this world as that's where the drumming in Primordial has for the most part been holding court. We rehearse in Dublin, of course, so a proximity to there is preferable, but we are not adverse to someone from abroad who can work hard when the time comes and is near enough to a Ryan Air terminal, or a relocation to Dublin is also a possibility."
Australian metalcore act Parkway Drive are currently streaming their entire new album, "Deep Blue", via the band's myspace page. "Deep Blue" is set for release on June 29th, 2010 through Epitaph Records.

The band commented by saying: "We’re outraged about BP’s obvious profit-over-safety policy leading to this terrible disaster and their extremely poor handling of the oil spill. In joining the boycott and calling all our fans to do the same, we can collectively make a statement strong enough to bring this shameless, careless corporation to its knees, and to avoid such catastrophes in the future."
Other bands and artists who have joined the boycott led by American nu-metallers Korn include Megadeth, Disturbed, Godsmack, Anthrax, Black Label Society and Rob Zombie.

"It wasn’t a hard decision for us to choose who will do the next Kataklysm video. As some of you know we’ve released some of the craziest videos lately with our other band EX DEO. So we decided to give Kataklysm a visual masterpiece as well and hire Ivan Colic once again to direct and produce the new clip for the song ‘Push The Venom’. It’s a hard hitting track with lots of anger and power and I’m positive Ivan will give it justice. We will shoot the video right after completing the EX DEO tour in Europe in mid July, so stand by for its premier in August!”

Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover has checked in with the following statement about the "Big Four" performance in Bulgaria:
"What happened last night on that stage in Sofia, Bulgaria is something that I will cherish forever. I gotta tell ya from where I was standing (between snare drum hits) I have never seen so many people onstage with a smile that big on all of our faces. Better yet for me was to have my kids go to the movie theater back home and watch it all a few hours later and tell me how much they loved it.
"That meant a lot to me. Damn, I would have liked to go watch this in a movie theater myself. Anyways, just checking in to let you know we are really having a great time out here. I hope all of you who saw the show live or in the movies did as well."
The Acacia Strain is set to release the new album "Wormwood" on July 20th via Prosthetic Records. The band has now posted a commercial online for the new album, which can be viewed below.

Medieval folk metallers Jaldaboath have issued the following update about signing to Napalm Records:
"Mighty brethren hordes, I scribe to you on the business and strategies of our war. As we all know, the field of battle is in constant flux with the ebb & tide of fortune, and further-more is not a cost-free venture. Even the mighty Knights of Jaldaboath are susceptible to the whims of the crown and the usurer in these times of high austerity!
"Thus, in planning campaigns of war and victory, truces must be made and the rivalries and mistrust of the past must be set aside for the greater good of Hammering Heraldic Metal, enabling us to mount sieges and battles and progress towards total victory over the Wyvern’s minions.
"From behind the walls of Rhydian, we received a message by carrier pigeon from our distant Teutonic cousins Napalm records: 'all misunderstandings to end. Stop. We admire the length of your swords. Stop. The jingle-jangle of Jaldaboath must never stop. Stop. Join us for greater victory. Stop. (message ends)' More...
New York hardcore supergroup Skarhead has announced that they have now cancelled their entire run of European shows. A message posted on their official Facebook account reads as follows:
"Last week Skarhead announced that they were forced to cancel the first couple of shows of the upcoming European Summer tour. Now opposed to the "statement" sent out by the booking agency, which is not an official statement by the band, Skarhead would like to clarify a few things. This tour wasn't cancelled 'due to a couple of cancelations,' nor due to 'logistical problems.' The only show that got cancelled was set for July 18th in Paris, France (also being the last show of the tour.) It actually seems that someone 'forgot' that, in order for a US band to play Europe, the band members need to get on a plane.
"In any case we can tell you that the band, in collaboration with their management & label, did everything in their power to try and salvage this great European run. After a very successful run earlier this year in March, the entire band was extremely excited to go back to Europe, play shows and see all of you amazing European fans again.
"The entire band has been on stand-by for more than a week in New York City for nothing, wasting time and risking losing jobs, so we fully understand your frustration and therefor want to apologize to all the Skarhead fans who were looking forward seeing us. There's probably no need to explain how sad and upset we are about this tour being cancelled, especially at such a last minute notice. Skarhead is currently working on a Fall tour and we'll make sure to post these dates as soon as possible."

Pennsylvania based Christian metallers August Burns Red have checked in with the following road report from their Japanese tour dates:
"Konbanwa! Last night around 1AM we arrived back home in Manheim, Pennsylvania following our first ever tour of Japan. We had an incredible experience. We arrived in Japan late at night on Tuesday, June 15th. We flew out out of London following our show at Download Festival (such a great time!) with a short layover in Beijing, China, before arriving in Nagoya Japan. We were greeted warmly at the airport by Mako and Norio of the Japanese band Each of the Days. They were kind enough to act as our tour guides for our first two days in Japan.
"On Wednesday, we had the entire day off to walk around Nagoya and get a little more acquainted with how things operated in Japan. We saw a Japanese temple, played in an awesome Japanese arcade, ate breaded octopus, ate raw octopus, drank sake, and perused lots of different shops. I was really excited to eat at a restaurant where I had to take off my shoes before sitting at the table. It’s little things like that that made me fall in love with Japan. Such an awesome culture! Finland's Amoral has issued the following announcement about scheduling the band's final tour date of 2010:
"The very first show we played after recording Show Your Colors was a secret gig at Helsinki's On the Rocks. This show (played under the moniker Gold Johnson Big Band) was also the very first time we played live with Ari. So what better way to wrap up the touring for SYC than to return to that very same place for one more show before we start concentrating on putting the finishing touches to the new material!
"This gig on Saturday, October 23rd is gonna be a special 'an evening with' party, as we're gonna fuck around with the set list a lot, with unusual tunes from our back catalogue, as well as throwing in some odd cover songs. And who knows, you just might hear some new material for the very first time... So, mark your calendars: Amoral @ On the Rocks, Helsinki, Saturday 23rd of October. See you there!"

Rhode Island-based progressive metalcore outfit THE EMPIRE SHALL FALL released a free MP3 on June 21, 2010 to mark the release of their critically acclaimed debut album “Awaken,” which became available in all UK and European stores as of June 21, 2010.
The band recorded “Arcarsenal” by At The Drive-In as a treat for their fans both new and old. Bassist Nick Sollectio had the following to say regarding the track: “We had debated for months about a cover song that was appropriate for us on a whole. I suggested something by ‘At The Drive-In’ to which Jake suggested ‘Arcarsenal’ and we all agreed immediately. Taking on a song by a band as mighty as At The Drive-In is no small task, and we understand the dangers in doing so. But, I think we all love the band so much that it was hard to say no.”
“Awaken” will be released through Angle Side Side Records (Distributed through Code7 Distribution).
