Forever In Terror (Metal Blade Records) singer Chris Bianchi has been diagnosed with a severe kidney infection, forcing the band to cancel their summer tours (including a trek with Hell Within). Here's a statement from the band:
"On Thursday morning Chris woke up in California with severe pains in his side as well as a raging fever. We had to take him to the hospital in Oakland, California (of all places) to get checked out. Hardly being able to walk, running a fever of 103 and dehydrated, he had to be checked out. After waiting 5 hours to get checked, he found out he has a severe kidney infection.
"We continued to play two following shows just instrumental allowing him a few days to rest. He still was not any better. Yesterday came to the point where he had to catch a plane back home and get to a hospital as well as solid rest to get well.
"Forever In Terror will be still jamming for you at as many shows as possible to keep rocking while still instrumental. However the rest of all summer tour dates as of now are being cancelled.
"We truly wish him well and he will be back on his feet soon. With the mixture of sickness, exhaustion, and shitty gas prices we will be only doing some small tour runs, weekend warrior dates until the new album comes out."

"The Story Of... Motley Crue" premieres Tuesday, June 24 @ 9pm & midnight ET on MuchMoreMusic in Canada to coincide with the release of "Saints of Los Angeles" - 11 years to the day the band released their last studio album with the original line-up (1997's "Generation Swine").
Here's the show description:
"They've courted controversy for close to 3 decades and now the world's most notorious rock band is back for another round. The Story Of… Motley Crue tracks the group from the gutters of the Sunset Strip, to pioneers of glam and hair metal into self-made dirty-filthy millionaires with over 50 million albums sold. Motley's career careened downhill when the music business moved on without their genre and while they became known more for making headlines for their Hollywood hook-ups rather than for their music and while each member spiralled into his own personal hell of addiction, abuse and arrests. Miraculously Motley survived the car crashes, the changing industry, their own volatile relationships and the overindulgences in drugs, booze and girls, girls, girls. Now they are back and better than ever in 2008 with their own touring festival and first studio album with the original line-up in over 10 years 'Saints of Los Angeles.' This show boasts an exclusive new interview with the band at Motley Crue's private rehearsal space in LA granted only to MuchMoreMusic, rare commentary by Neil Strauss, author of the best-selling biography 'The Dirt' and archived moments that will make you want to wash your hands."

Society 1 was paid a visit last week by the popular adult actress Regan Reese. Regan stopped by NRG Recording Studios while drummer Sik Ric was recording drum tracks for the upcoming "Sadist Messiah." Regan is no stranger to the studio environment, as she graduated from Musicians Institute Of Technology in Los Angeles to become a recording engineer. While in the studio, Regan assisted producer Wade Norton by running Pro Tools topless. She did such a great job Wade actually asked her back to assist throughout the tracking of the drums.
"Regan actually assists Wade and runs the Pro-Tools when we track. She doesn't just sit around with her boobs out. She is actually put to work while her boobs hang out. I am so into it. We are so metal that we have topless engineers. I love this band. If anyone ever wonders why I keep going it's because I can do things like this. If given the chance wouldn't you?"
Producer, Wade Norton, had the following to say in regards to working with Matt Zane. "To quote Otter in Animal House. 'Boon, I anticipate a deeply religious experience.'"
Regan and Matt first began working together about a year ago on the set of Matt’s highly popular series "Tatooed and Tight" released through Evolution Distribution. It was there that Matt talked to Regan about her going to school for recording and invited her to come down to the studio when Society 1 started recording.

Contraband Candy went to Bristol in May and caught up with one of this year’s more unusual tour combinations – metal experimentalists Genghis Tron and up and coming "psychedelic black metallers" Nachtmystium.
Rene Ackermann spoke to Genghis Tron about their dark, visceral music as well as their bizarre longing for a tour bus like Dillinger Escape Plan, car crashes, and establishing their place in the Metal World without a drummer.
Chicago’s Nachtmystium talked about their new, highly acclaimed album, "Assassins: Black Meddle Part1," plus why this odd tour pairing is working for them and on being recognised by a famous Chicago Heavy Metal Burger joint.
Tennessee’s WHITECHAPEL recently shot a video for title track off of "This is Exile" with director David Brodsky of MyGoodEye (All That Remains, Hate Eternal, The Black Dahlia Murder, Soilent Green), which will receive its worldwide premiere via MySpace Metal on Wednesday June 18.
"This is Exile" marks the band's Metal Blade debut and will be available everywhere July 8, 2008. Until then fans will be able to check out the band live on the very brutal Summer Slaughter 2008 tour alongside label mates The Black Dahlia Murder.
Here is the "This is Exile" track listing:

The record is scheduled for release in late October 2008. Tracks being recorded include "Angels & Demons," "Games People Play," "Just Like Judas," "Lost In Wonderland," "Lost Soul," "Man Against The World," "Masquerade Ball," "Prisoner Of The Past," "Raven's Revenge," "Ride The Storm," "Sail On," "Signs Of Your Life" and "West Wind Blows."
British metallers, De Profundis, has parted ways with drummer Sterghios Moschos and have issued the following parting statement:
"We would like to thank Sterghios for all the hard work he has put into De Profundis. Following his move to Canterbury, it would no longer have been possible for Sterghios to rehearse and play shows with us frequently because of the distance involved. We wish Sterghios the best of luck in all his future endeavors."
"De Profundis are now seeking a new drummer. We are looking for a tight, creative player with solid double pedal skills, blasting ability and good compositional vision. Own kit and transport required. Studio and live experience preferred. Interested parties can contact us through our myspace page, website or directly via email at band(at)deprofundisdoom(dot)com."
"In the meanwhile, we will be continuing to work on new material for our second album, due to be recorded in January 2009. David Andrews has kindly agreed to perform with us live until we find a permanent drummer."
Prosthetic Records is proud to announce the release of French metal band HOLLOW CORP.’s debut record, "Cloister of Radiance," throughout North America. Originally released in Europe last September through Swedish label Dental Records, the deal will make "Cloister of Radiance" available domestically for the first time on September 30. In the meantime, three tracks from the album are currently available on the HOLLOW CORP. MySpace page, as is the music video for the track "Thujon," "Cloister of Radiance"'s last track.
"We're feeling really honored joining such a great label like Prosthetic," HOLLOW CORP. frontman Stephane Azam says. "They have awesome bands and a vision of the music that corresponds with our own. Let us hope to cross the Atlantic soon! We also wish to thank Dental Records for their great job in Europe!"
"After a huge success in Europe, HOLLOW CORP. is ready to 'audioslave' the audience across the Atlantic," Dental Records label manager Omer Akay says. "We are very pleased to have found such a great partner in the US; with Prosthetic’s help, we will make HOLLOW CORP. a force to be reckoned with."
Nestled in the wine district of Alsace near the northeastern border of the band’s native country, France’s HOLLOW CORP. comes from humble beginnings as the band Coverage, founded in 1999. Taking up its current moniker in 2005, the band has all the while noisily - and masterfully - combined heavy metal’s raw intensity with a post-hardcore flair of dissonance and down-tempo sludge moments in the years since its inception. With the release of the band’s first album, "Cloister of Radiance," in the fall of 2007 throughout Europe on Sweden’s Dental Records, HOLLOW CORP. ultimately caught the eye of both European press outlets and of Los Angeles-based Prosthetic Records, positioning the label to release "Cloister of Radiance" this coming fall throughout North America.
Detroit heavy metal band Halloween has parted ways with their guitar player and added in some new members. The band gave the following statement on their website:
Due to a difference in artistic vision, Halloween and Donny Allen have decided to part ways. Donny has been a staple in this band for over 16 years and we love him like a brother, he will always be family and we hope the best for him. Good luck Donny.
Mourning Sun/Night Creature guitarist extraordinaire Don Guerrier and Abandon axeslinger Shawn Moore have joined the band. After only one rehearsal with these two, we were blown away by how great it sounded, and we are very excited by the possibilities that are already starting to present themselves. We can't wait to get this new line up out for some shows, we know you will be just as blown away as we are.
Liv Kristine of Leaves' Eyes has signed to Napalm Records to release solo work. She gave the following statement about the deal:
"I am very happy and proud to announce that I just signed a contract for my next few solo albums with Napalm Records. My decision to take this step is easily explainable; I am very satisfied with the cooperation between Napalm Records and Leaves' Eyes so far. I appreciate the work of everybody working at Napalm Records and I have a good feeling about our past and future cooperation. Having both my solo project and Leaves' Eyes on one label makes it a lot easier for label, band, co-musicians and me to coordinate everything, especially when it comes to planning and organising tours, productions, promotion work etc. In the nearest future I will certainly pay a visit to beautiful Eisenerz and show Max a few ideas I've already been working on for my third solo album."
Eisbrecher has reached the final phase of production on the latest album. One and a half years after the release of "Antikörper," with the stage hit "Vergissmeinnicht," their third studio album is titled "Sünde." "Sünde" is set for an August, 22 release date via AFM records.

Death metal band MASTER is currently booking dates for a UK tour in early 2009. UK booking agent Owen Duffy of PHP Events says they can't wait to return to the country.
"Due to time constraints, MASTER were only able to play two shows on their last visit to the UK," says Owen.
"Despite the fact that they faced a travel nightmare, with the airline designating their equipment as a terrorist threat and leaving their instruments in mainland Europe, MASTER really enjoyed their time here, especially the reaction they received from the British fans. The band are eager to get back over here for a full tour with a kickass support package, national advertising, press and promotional support. These are going to be some unforgettable shows featuring a truly legendary death metal band."
Support on the tour will be provided by CASTROFATE (USA), FERAL (SWE) and NIGHTMARE VISIONS (UK) providing a mix of death, thrash and black metal.
Local promoters and venue managers interested in booking a show should contact Owen Duffy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Master's most recent album, "Slaves to Society," was released in 2007 to rave reactions from both fans and the metal press.
