SUICIDE CITY (formerly RODEK), the new band featuring BIOHAZARD guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei and former KITTIE bassist Jennifer Arroyo, will b supporting MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE on an East Coast tour beginning on July 1. Confirmed dates so far are as follows:

SUICIDE CITY formed in 2004 when five talented and experienced artists, sharing the same passion in music, crossed paths. For the past several years, Billy Graziadei of BIOHAZARD has been producing bands from many different parts of the world. While producing tracks for THE GROOVENICS, their singer, Karl Bernholtz, and Graziadei realized they had many common musical interests. Bernholtz and Graziadei quickly began writing material and soon hooked up with New York-based drummer Dan Lamagna and GROOVENICS/GHOST FIGHT guitarist AJ Marchetta. KITTIE bassist Jennifer Arroyo joined up with the band shortly after, solidifying the SUICIDE CITY lineup. Jennifer has recently left KITTIE to give 100 percent of her time and effort to SUICIDE CITY.

"Il Demonio Nera" (The Black Demon), a brand-new DVD collection of videos, video outtakes, alternative versions and previously unreleased material from DANZIG's Danzig 4 (2000) and Danzig 5 (2002) projects, will be in-stores on Tuesday, July 12.
Personally combing through the Danzig vaults, Glenn Danzig chose the tracks for the "Il Demonio Nera" DVD which offer a variety of versions of Danzig classics such as "I Don't Mind The Pain," "Serpentia," "Cantspeak" and "Until You Call on the Dark." Danzig's choice of directors for these videos was certainly inspired: Dean Karr, who directed the video for "Until You Call on the Dark," went on to direct Marilyn Manson's "Sweet Dreams" video and Iron Maiden "Rock in Rio" concert full-length; and the never-before-released video for "Serpentia" from Danzig 5, was directed by E. Elias Merhige who helmed the feature film "Shadow of the Vampire starring John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe. More...
In an effort to catch up with some of the bands gearing up to tour on the Sounds of the Underground Tour, I sent some questions by email to From Autumn To Ashes. Frontman Benjamin Perri was kind enough to take the time to answer them. Here they are with his responses: More...
DISTURBED's brand-new single, "Guarded", has been posted online at MySpace.com.
"Guarded" is the first single off the group's upcoming third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", tentatively due September 20 via Warner Bros. "Guarded" was released to U.S. rock and metal stations this week, and will also be included on a sampler distributed at this summer's Ozzfest, according to Billboard.com. The band's fully promoted first single, "Stricken", will hit radio at the end of July. The title track will be featured in the Electronic Arts football video game "Madden 2006".
As far as where the band stands among its contemporaries, vocalist David Draiman told Billboard.com, "I don't even know that we necessarily belong within 'metal' anymore. Any metal that we identify ourselves with is old-school. Today's metal is very different. It's the second stage of Ozzfest, and it's a place we no longer fit.
"LAMB OF GOD, ATREYU, SHADOWS FALL and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are very talented, and there's a lot of talent and rhythmic quality to what a lot of these vocalists are doing, and a lot of creativity and lyricism going on," he continued. "But to me, songs in general need to have powerful, compelling, engaging melodies, and not just a rhythmic, aggressive, animal-like vocal, which believe me, I drop into from time to time. You don't see bands like JUDAS PRIEST or IRON MAIDEN, or even PANTERA, nowadays.
DISTURBED will spend much of the rest of this year and next on the road. The group will begin a six-week tour the first week of August and in November, will headline the Jagermeister tour, which will be limited to House of Blues venues, with multiple nights at each stop. Following that, DISTURBED will top the bill on the third Music As a Weapon tour.

THE HAUNTED bassist Jonas Björler refuted the rumor that his former band AT THE GATES may be reuniting for a possible tour. In an e-mail sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Björler said, "Just wanted to tell you that the rumours about the AT THE GATES reunion are untrue."
Former CARCASS frontman Jeff Walker also refuted the rumor that the Liverpool gore-grind pioneers may be reuniting for a possible tour. In an e-mail sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Walker said, "For the record, Bill Steer wasn't even at the Metal Hammer awards and I didn't speak to Adrian that night! I'd find the whole matter hilarious if it wasn't for the fact that the rumor is probably gonna put a few people's noses out of joint..."
A June 22, 2005 posting on the Earache Records-affiliated web site www.metaltracks.com indicated that Walker, along with former CARCASS guitarist Bill Steer and ex-AT THE GATES drummer Adrian Erlandsson, hinted at the recent Metal Hammer Awards in London that the two bands are considering reforming and going on tour together in the near future.
Long-running Italian technical death metallers GORY BLISTER have completed work on their new album, "Skymorphosys", tentatively due in October via Holland's Mascot Records. The CD contains "14 tracks, 52 minutes of pure, fast and warm death metal," according to a press release.
GORY BLISTER's full-length debut, "Art Bleeds", was released in 2003 via France's Sekhmet Records.
GORY BLISTER recently contributed a cover of DEATH's "1,000 Eyes" for a DEATH tribute album, "Unforgotten Past… In Memory Of Chuck Schuldiner", available now via the Chinese label AreaDeath Productions. GORY BLISTER's version of the track, which originally appeared on DEATH's classic 1995 album "Symbolic", can be heard at GoryBlister.com (in the "Releases" section).
PAIN OF SALVATION singer Daniel Gildenlöw will be featured as a guest vocalist on one track on the upcoming AXAMENTA album, entitled "Ever-Arch-I-Tech-Ture". "Daniel will do the vocals on one entire song, for which he has written the melody and vocal pattern himself," according to a posting on AXAMENTA's web site.
The former band of current EPICA bassist Yves Huts, AXAMENTA are recording new album at Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (MERCENARY, RAUNCHY, ABORTED). Mixing and mastering will take place at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden under the supervision of producer Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with bands like IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, DIMMU BORGIR, THE HAUNTED and OLD MAN'S CHILD. A September/October release via Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) is expected.
AXAMENTA began their career by playing doom, fantasy and even death metal, but after a lot of lineup changes, they decided to make a radical shift in their musical style and began experimenting with a more technical and progressive approach. Their love for movie scores also made them replace the keyboards by orchestra samples, which gives them a unique sound in the Belgian metal scene.

VELVET REVOLVER have recorded a new song, "Come On, Come In", for the forthcoming "Fantastic Four" film and soundtrack album. Reaching radio June 21, the track was recorded in Raleigh and Cleveland in May during the band's U.S. headlining "Electric Wonderland Show" arena tour. VELVET REVOLVER co-produced the song along with Doug Grean and Nick Raskulinecz. The band felt that the new song they wrote lent itself perfectly to the film.
"Fantastic Four - The Album" will be issued July 5 on Wind-up Records, in conjunction with Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Enterprises, who are releasing the action-packed movie July 8.
For the "Come On, Come In" video, VELVET REVOLVER joined forces with director Wayne Isham in Los Angeles before the band launched their in-progress European tour. Inspired by the adrenaline-driven visuals and conceptual theme of the "Fantastic Four" movie, the video combines the raw energy of a VELVET REVOLVER performance, with graphic transitions between movie footage and Dali-esque individualized abstract portraits of each band member.
Since releasing their debut album "Contraband" on RCA in June 2004, VELVET REVOLVER have become rock's most exciting and successful new band. "Contraband" has now sold over three million copies worldwide, earned a Grammy award, shattered records and garnered massive critical acclaim.
Lifeforce Records has just uploaded two full new tracks from the upcoming Caliban / Heaven Shall Burn split CD and "Sweetest Hell" from the upcoming Fear My Thoughts album "Hell Sweet Hell" on their Myspace page. Check them out here.
Primal Fear bassist Mat Sinner has posted the following message on his official web site:
I've just recorded vocals & bass on two tracks for [Sinner's reunited first band] Shiva — 'This Ain't Love' and 'Hold On'. One track will appear on a forthcoming AIDS benefit compilation. The other track will appear on a special compilation following my book project "Chronicles" in January 2006.
I've nearly finsihed my book during my stay in Vancouver, but there are a lot of more things to add. Now I have to finish the new Primal Fear album, "Seven Seals," first, including all the cover artwork and photo stuff, mastering and the video clips. Everybody who could listen to the album so far is totally surprised about the music and production — nice! We will present the album to 20 European journalists on July 30th. The first video clip will be shot on July 8th in Munich with AVA Studios and director Volker Hannwacker (who did the 'Armageddon' video clip with us). It will be the first single of the album, the title track 'Seven Seals'. A second clip will be shot directly following the first one. We're not 100% sure at the moment, but it could be well the ear-crushing 'Evil Spell'. The album will be released by Nuclear Blast worldwide, except Japan/Asia via longtime partner JVC, on October 24th with a world tour following in early 2006!
Starting June 17th, fans are invited to post their questions until July 1st. The questions will be answered later by the band members themselves. You can post your questions in English or German.
