Black death thrash demons Acheron have completed the recording process for their upcoming Listenable Records release, "Kult Des Hasses." The album is now set to enter the mixing and mastering phase. Acheron will also be doing a mini-tour with Incantation in late July. The band has enlisted Dismemberment guitarist Jacob Shively to fill the slot of second guitarist. When asked if Shively would be their new permanent second guitarist, ACHERON founder Vincent Crowley stated:
"Jacob is a talented guitarist and fan of the band. His group Dismemberment opened for Acheron a few times and I really liked them. That is why I asked him about filling in. But we are taking baby steps. We've learned from past experiences not to just give hire someone right away. For now he is playing with us for all upcoming live shows. We'll just have to see if it progresses into something more. But we are indeed open to the idea if the dedication and chemistry is there."
Acheron will also head to Germany to headline the Death Doomed the Age Fest in September and and return in October for the Under the Banner of the Black Light fest. Confirmed Acheron live dates follow below.
07/18 - Philadelphia, PA @ TBA
07/19 - Baltimore, MD @ Ottobar w/ Incantation
07/20 - Providence, RI @ Fete w/ Incantation
09/06 - Lichtenfels, Germany @ Death Doomed the Age Fest
10/12 - Gieben, Germany @ Under the Banner of the Black Light Fest

U.D.O. has released a new music video for 'heavy Rain," which comes off latest album "Steelhammer."
The track is quite unusual for metal icon Udo Dirkschneider and his band because of its silent tunes and reflective mood. Check it out below. You can also watch the previously posted "Metal Machine" video at this location.
AFM Records has checked in with the following announcement about a new album coming from SOiL:
"Who does not remember 'Halo,' undoubtedly the most popular song of U.S. alternative/metal band Soil? On vocals back then was Ryan McCombs, who later would leave Soil to become the new frontman of Drowning Pool.
"Ryan, much to the delight of the fans, finally returned to the band recently and of course will sing all songs on the new album 'Whole,' which will be released on August 16th worldwide (excl. USA and Canada) via AFM Records.
"As a first foretaste the album’s first single 'Shine On' is available now."

Mrtav, Croation for the word "death," is the first of a planned trilogy of releases, recorded in reverse order encompassing the human life cycle. ("Birth" & "Life" will see the light of day in late 2013 / early 2014).
Guitarist Sven Soric explains, "We have an overall theme; it is a span of a lifetime, and this trilogy we have envisioned will cover the complete process in which all humans share. Despite our different languages, cultures, ideals, beliefs, and values, we all birthed into this world, live our lives, then die. It is that simple and thus, we are all equal. We want this music to convey one's internal vision of what happens during the last moments, be it minutes, hours, or days, of our life."
The album was recorded in the Winter of 2012 at Studio Depth in Pozega, Croatia by the quartet consisting of Dario Orac (guitars & vocals, Domagoj Zunic (bass & vocals), Sven Soric (guitars & vocals), & Ivan Kukuljevic (drums). "Mrtav" was produced and mixed by Filip Sertic.

San Francisco's Heathen is currently on tour in Europe, but the band has posted the following announcement about canceling a tour date in London due to vehicle problems:
"We are very sorry to announce that the London show tomorrow night has been cancelled. Our tour bus broke down a few days ago and we are unable to make the trip to London.
"We apologize to all of our fans there and hope to come again very soon. All of the other remaining shows on the tour are still on as scheduled."
Remaining dates to run through the end of the month can be found at the band's Facebook profile here.
Grindcore act Pig Destroyer has been inducted into the Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame. The band is being inducted for the "Prowler in the Yard" album released in July 2001 via Relapse Records.
"Prowler in the Yard" will see a deluxe remixed and re-mastered reissue via Relapse in the near future. Decibel editor in chief Albert Mudrian spoke about the band's inclusion in the Decibel Hall of Fame:
"Two cover appearances, one album of the year nod (for 2007's Phantom Limb) and one limited-edition live flexi disc for our 100th issue show just wasn't enough Pig Destroyer love from Decibel. So we did the right and honorable thing by FINALLY inducting their landmark Prowler in the Yard record into our vaunted Hall of Fame. Now all that's left to do is to get some of Scott Hull's DNA to mix into our printer inks."
Guitarist Scott Hull also comments: It's such an honor to have PITY inducted in Decibel's HOF. We aren't a group of guys to look back on anything that we've really done, we usually just keep looking forward. When Albert got in touch and said that he was going to induct the record, it gave Jr, Brian, and myself a chance to reflect on how much fun we were having back in 2000-2001 wihout any pressure, without any expectation . . .we were just trying to make a kick ass record for no one but ourselves. Totally DIY, in our basement. It's been a long road since then. The success of PITY meant that we could pretty much keep that MO, as we have pretty much done with all our records since then. I personally want to thank Albert, Kevin Stewart-Panko and the Decibel staff for the recognition and for the thought and care he put into the feature."

This year's edition of the German Summer Breeze festival will take place from August 15th - 17th, 2013. The organizers of the festival have now issued the following announcement about two bands dropping off the bill and being replaced by other groups:
"Unfortunately we have to inform you that Emmure and Nachtmystium have cancelled their appearance at Summer Breeze 2013. Our apologies to all those who were looking forward to seeing them. We will not rest until we can book the bands again for Summer Breeze in the years to come. The good news: We have already managed to find a replacement.
"Family reunion at Summer Breeze: Freddy Cricien, half brother of Agnostic Front singer and hardcore legend Roger Miret, will appear in Dinkelsbühl with his brutal troop Madball. The New York hardcore stalwarts are bringing loads of stage action and the heaviest of hardcore, so all you divers and moshpit enthusiasts out there better get ready! In top form – only recently they headlined the successful Rebellion Tour 2013 – Cricien and company will (hopefully!) deliver a selection of their discography's best songs. Although Madball always kill, no matter what they play! D'accord?!
"People like to call them avantgarde black metal, but the Mainz band isn't really comfortable with that label. Whatever you want to call them though, fact is Nocte Abdcuta will present their brand new album 'Umbriel (Das Schweigen zwischen den Sternen)' live at Summer Breeze 2013. All disciples of gloom can look forward to an uncompromising experimental show with a dense armosphere and a whole load of melancholy, but (hopefully) also an excursion into the German's brutal past. However, no matter which songs get played, no one will crawl back into their tents disappointed after the Nocte Abducta show in Dinkelsbühl."
On July 16th, Evan Brewer will release his sophomore solo album "Your Itinerary," and will also embark on a full-scale North American tour with Last Chance To Reason. The trek, sponsored by MetalSucks, kicks off on July 25th and runs through Aug 17th. Dates are avaialble after the jump, and the new track "Microscopic Scale" can also new be heard below.
Brewer states: "I'm way excited to tour with my buddies in Last Chance To Reason. As many of you know, I have done a lot of shows as a solo act performing just by myself. With the new album release being July 16th, I felt it was important to get back on the road to support this record. Therefore, this time I have assembled a band to come with me to accomplish the sounds we put on the new album.
"Musicians on this run will include Alex Rudinger (The Faceless) on drums and Brandon Giffin (Cynic) on second bass. We will be playing a good selection of material from both of my solo albums and I am really excited to have such great musicians playing with me. It's going to be a good night of music, so come hang out and catch me at the merch booth each night after the set.
"It's not always easy to find time for tours with this project, so please make sure you come out because you never know when we will be back. Thanks." More...
