We have the feeling that we’ve built a little empire for ourselves with our band, brand, and different endeavors.”

Malevolent Creation Reveals Album Artwork

Florida based death metal act Malevolent Creation has revealed the artwork from the band's upcoming 11th studio outing entitled "Invidious Dominion." The cover art, which can be viewed here, was brought to life this time around by artist Pär Olofsson.

"Pär Olofsson was recommended to us by our label manager, Gerardo Martinez, and after checking out some of his work we knew he was our guy,” commented the band. “Our initial thought was to have a world in chaos and destruction, or an Invidious Dominion, which then led us to remember the Ten Commandments album cover, and how cool it would be to have the demon make a return appearance but from a frontal view! Pär's totally brutal interpretation couldn't have exceeded our expectations any more! We are stoked with his work and can't wait to see it on a bunch of cool merch and more than likely everyone in the bands skin!”

Invidious Dominion was produced and recorded by Erik Rutan at Mana Studios in Florida and will be released on August 24, 2010 in North America via Nuclear Blast USA and August 27, 2010 in Europe via Massacre Records.

Windfaerer Posts New Music Online

New Jersey folk metal band WINDFAERER -- M. Gonçalves [Vocals, Guitars, Bass], JP Andrade [Percussion] and Valèek [Violin] -- has recently posted two new tracks to their official MySpace page. "These Walls (Frozen In Time)" and "This Beautiful Death," which features bagpipe work by Sevan Kirder, formerly of Eluveitie, come off the trio's debut full-length, "Tribus." Check out the tracks on their MySpace page. "Tribus" was recorded and mixed at Frightbox Recording (Clifton, NJ) by Bobby Torres and follows the band's two-song demo "Glorybound," which was released last year.

Main songwriter Goncalves comments on the new tunes, "Tribus is in essence a collection of everyday themes set in a time of Iberian legend. The songs touch upon rebellion against Romans in ancient Hispania and Lusitania, expansion to new lands, as well as voyaging into the unknown. I'm excited about the way everything sounds and how it all came together. I've had this vision for a while and it's almost euphoric to be able to finally realize it!"

Adust Checks In With Band Update

U.K. metallers Adust has issued the following update about the band's current and future status:

"Hey everyone, at the beginning of 2010 none of us realized what a testing year it would prove to be for Adust - and we're only on June so far. As many of you know the end of 2009/beginning of 2010 saw the departure of Guy Jones. As previously posted this was a sad loss to us all but we're pleased to say that as we write this, Guy is well and enjoying himself with his new pursuits. We still wish him all the best! We love you dude!

"As the saying goes every cloud has a silver lining and ours came in the form of new guitarist Paul Benford. Paul, who has been with us now for just over 4 months now, is a warm hearted, friendly & talented individual who has shown great enthusiasm and has settled into the band very well. We're extremely pleased to have him in the band and excited at what the future with him will bring.

"Unfortunately we were in for more testing times and more recently our frontman & vocalist Rob Pease expressed his wishes to leave - as stated in Rob's previous blog. Rob was there from the very beginning, way before we became Adust and dedicated a lot of time and effort to the band, something we are all incredibly grateful for. More...

One Without Parts With Bassist

Sweden's One Without has issued the following announcement about parting ways with bassist Kristofer Bergman:

"We have some sad news to announce. Our long time friend and bass player Kristofer has together with us decided to leave the band. In the years we have played together we have become best friends, so of course this feels very sad for us. We want to say a big thank you to him for sharing these years with us, through all the happiness and struggles.

"He will be playing the last shows we have booked in Gothenburg, the 2nd of July at Sticky Fingers, and the 14th of August at Belsepub. One Without wishes him all the best and hope you guys do the same. And we will always love him and will of course continue to be friends with him."

Kristofer Bergman commented on the split: "I want to thank everyone in the band for this time and for all the joy you have given me. I wish you all the best of luck in the future, and you can expect to see me at the front of every concert in Gothenburg were I will be moshing and headbanging as crazy!" More...

Onslaught Signs To AFM Records

British thrash metal legends Onslaught has announced that they have signed a new record deal with AFM Records. The label will be releasing the band's fifth studio album which is expected to hit the shelves later this year. Guitarist Nige Rockett says about the signing:

"We're so very stoked to be joining the AFM Records roster, our deal with Candlelight had expired and as always Onslaught were looking for a new challenge. There were several labels interested in signing the band, but AFM said all the right things and made all the right moves so it wasn’t a hard choice. Also seeing what the label did with the latest Fear Factory album backed up our decision. It kinda feels like when we were signed to Music For Nations, very personal and very friendly on every level right up to the label owner. We have a real good feeling about the new album release and a very distinctive vision, AFM are right behind this 110%, we’re gonna make a great team and together we're gonna deliver some kick ass new tunes!"

Dragonforce To Release Live Album

British based power metal outfit Dragonforce has announced that they will be releasing their first live album this year, which will span two discs and contain thirteen tracks. The album is entitled, "Twilight Dementia" and will be released on September 13th through Roadrunner Records in North America and Spinefarm Records in the rest of the world.

Guitarist Herman Li states: "For years, fans have been asking us to record a live album, but honestly, we never really had the time due to our worldwide touring commitments and studio album recording. However, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans on the ‘Ultra Beatdown World Tour’, we decided to finally put some real thought into it...

"The idea was to record every single show from the last leg of the tour, so we could pick the best take of each song without needing to do any overdubs in the studio; keeping the whole thing ‘LIVE’ like all the classic live metal albums.

"These recordings really capture the raw sonic energy of a Dragonforce show in fine detail. It is so real that you can hear the noise of the crowd and experience the show as it was that night – you can even hear the guitar pedals being stepped on!" More...

Kamelot Signs with earMUSIC, New Album Details

earMUSIC, the international rock label of the Hamburg-based entertainment group Edel, has announced the signing of American/Norwegian melodic metallers Kamelot. The band's new studio album, "Poetry For The Poisoned," will be released in Europe on September 3, 2010.

"I think this album is by far our most diverse, fusing new ideas and elements along with the traditional Kamelot sound and style that we have established over the years," states Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood.

"Poetry for the Poisoned" was mostly written in the remote woods of Norway to the final songwriting sessions in a remote region of Germany. Recordings took place in the familiar Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro. Additional tracking also took place in Tampa, Florida as well as various studios in Sweden, Greece and the U.S.

"Poetry for the Poisoned" features guest appearances by Simone Simons (Epica), Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne, Firewind), Björn "Speed" Strid (Soilwork) and Jon Oliva (Savatage, Jon Oliva's Pain). The artwork was created by many great artists, including Seth Siro Anton, Natalie Shau and Michal Loranc.

"'Poetry for the Poisoned' is a mix of progressive elements, modern rock, dark arts and also power metal," states Youngblood. "It comes at a time where many people around the world are searching for something to grab on to spiritually, including myself. I recently lost my mother and to be honest it was very hard on me. So there are some melancholy moods reflected on this album."

Frontman Roy Khan assures that "Poetry for the Poisoned" will both please the band's existing following and expose the universe of Kamelot to a whole range of new fans. "'Poetry for the Poisoned' is our longest and toughest production so far, but when I hear the result I know it was well worth the struggle," he says.

Max Vaccaro, director of the earMUSIC label, commented: "If there is one thing that is absolutely clear with Kamelot, it's that the band has a unique vision of metal and they consider anything they do as the 'next step' to something bigger and better, constantly adamant to reach new ambitious artistic targets. We're happy about the fact that they have chosen earMUSIC as the partner to expand their audience with this new wonderful album."

"Poetry For The Poisoned" will also be available as a limited edition hard-cover digipak CD with a bonus DVD, LP and limited collector's edition featuring a bonus 45" vinyl with two rare songs only available on this strictly limited format, personally signed by the band.

Kamelot recently tapped Swedish director Owe Lingvall of Village Road Films for the video shoot and production of the song "The Great Pandemonium". The track, which was performed on the band's recently completed European tour, will appear on "Poetry For The Poisoned". Other songtitles set to appear on the effort include "House On A Hill"and "Hunters Season", the latter of which was also performed on the band's recently completed European headlining tour.

Kamelot recently inked a deal with Marquee/Avalon Records for the Japanese release of its next album. The plans for the North American release will be announced in the near future.
