With the unleashing of their "Endless Night" LP just days away (June 25th), the blackened death sorcerers in TOAD offer up a stream of fourth track “Boundaries of Flesh” via Cvlt Nation. Check out the song right here.
Comments the band of the deviant tune: “This was the last song written for Endless Night. It was surreal to know we had neared the end of our vision, so this tune is definitely special for us. Those of you with a keen ear and familiarity with the scores of John Carpenter may pick up on some parallels. As with every song on the album, this song is an unpredictable journey. Enjoy.”
Adds Cvlt Nation: “‘Boundaries of Flesh’ snaps with tight rhythms and a head-nodding beat that’s difficult to forget after your first listen. Heady sections of stripped back and echoing vocal lines gives the whole track a different and intriguing mood that calls to mind extreme doom-sensibilities and lends a deeply effective ‘70s B-Movie soundtrack quality to the song before the title track lurches into being with slow, weighty and dastardly destructive proportions. The song swirls with extended motions of climbing guitar wails and gruff vocal bellows that grind with a distinct resonance and the hurtling speed of the closing seconds is enough to raise the dead themselves. Excellent fun indeed.”
"Endless Night" was captured by returning producer/engineer Bob Hoag at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, Arizona, who worked with the band previously on the mammoth "Rotten Tide" EP, and offers up a strikingly grim cover by Sean R. Williams (Animetalphysical). The album's track listing is:
1. Taste of the Grave
3. Howling House
4. Boundaries of Flesh
5. Endless Night
I've been a writer for Metalunderground.com for almost six years, (I joined on June 25th 2007, for those who care to know,) and in that time I’ve written over eight thousand articles, including memorials and tributes to Ronnie James Dio, Phil Lynott, Gary Moore, Jeff Hanneman and Chuck Schuldiner, but this piece is unquestionably the hardest I’ve ever had to write, as I, and a number of others, will be paying tribute to not only a lover of metal music and a MetalUnderground.com reader, member and devotee, but also a friend named, Tom Humber, who posted on MetalUnderground.com under the moniker, "TomHimself," a handle he regularly used. It might have seemed like an arrogant name to use, but there really was nobody else like Tom.
Despite the fact that we live in the same town, I was introduced to Tom through this website. He hosted a rock and metal show on Swindon105.5, during which he would bring his listeners the latest news in metal. It turned out he’d been getting his news from MetalUnderground.com and as soon as he found out that the only English writer for the website lived in the same town as him, he excitedly invited me on the show. As soon as I met him, I liked him. He was a big man with a bigger smile and was so welcoming and eager to talk about metal, what had been going on in metal recently and what metal CDs I’d brought with me (Motorhead’s, "Inferno," Celtic Frost's, "Monotheist" and a third, which I can’t remember right now.) He opened the show with “Deliverance” by the British goth rock band, The Mission U.K. and I instantly loved the song. After I asked him what it was called, he coolly but happily informed me before telling me to stick around after the hour was up. As soon as he wrapped up the first hour, he burned the entire show we’d done on to a CD for me, just so I could have a copy of "Deliverance." Name me one other DJ that would do that!
We had a great time together on the show, playing all kinds of rock music and discussing the week’s events, along with the forthcoming FIFA World Cup, whereby he informed me that he didn’t like the same football as me, he liked American football. Correction: He LOVED American football! While it’s a sport I’ve never had much interest in, every time I mentioned it he’d be there to talk about it, encourage me to watch more and cheer on his beloved Vikings. Tweeting each other during this year’s Super Bowl half time show was particularly fun. In November 2011 he parted ways with Swindon105.5 though his radio career continued through his contributions to Dark Asylum Radio. It was a job that he and his frankly awesome voice were simply made for. The man was like Tommy Vance, he just sounded so cool. When he spoke, people listened and usually, they’d laugh when he finished. I could go on about Tom but ultimately the things I’ll remember most about him was that he was one of the most genuine people you could meet. He didn’t accept charity, he had an infectious enthusiasm, a passion for music rarely seen and was honestly one of the nicest men around. The Metalunderground.com community, my town and indeed, the world, has lost a true gentleman. Tom Himself is simply too big of a personality to forget. More...

New York City's Tiger Flowers has already released one self-titled EP and is currently at work on the band's debut full-length album with producer Elliot Geller (Malignancy, Dim Mak) and mastering engineer Shane Frisby (Turmoil, Revocation). There is no label confirmed to release the album as of yet.
The band has now teamed up with Lambgoat.com to reveal the first glimpse of the as-yet-untitled new album, in the form "Cruisin' 'Til the Wheels Fall Off." Check it out here or in the player below.
Kicking off with the lyrics, "Goddamn, it was crazy / Deep in the jungle at eighteen / For the American dream," the song is apparently inspired by Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo character. Frontman Jesse Madre explains:
"There's the scene in First Blood where Rambo is talking with the colonel about how he thought it was going to be different when he got back, how he and his buddies were going to go cruisin'. They were just going to cruise until the wheels fell off but all his friends had died, some of them right next to him. I have friends who are in Iraq and Afghanistan right now. I have friends who have kids over there and their kids are watching their buddies get blown up. Whether you believe in the war or not, motherfuckers are dying. I think Rambo nails it in that first movie, what it was like to come home to a country that didn't want you." More...

Culminated from various wastelands in the New York City region, a mysterious and atrocious occult metal entity has infiltrated humanity. Teloch Vovin, a cult of harbingers with fully malicious and maniacal intent, has unleashed its introductory recording in the form of “I.” The following press release was issued about the album:
"A collection of off-kilter hymns summoned in an organic and spontaneous environment, 'I' rampages with nearly thirty-five minutes of low-fi, dispirited blackened filth as simultaneously bizarre and unhinged as it is triumphantly iniquitous. Teloch Vovin's jagged, high-speed buzzsaw riffing and vomitous vocals clash with doom-laden slow-motion dirges, the tone giving one the feeling these warriors’ amps are literally about to explode in an electrical inferno, the anomalous ring of bells chiming through the melee.
"With influences of Gorgorth, Funeral Mist, Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost and Bathor coalescing into something devotees of Furze, Peste Noire, Striborg, Leviathan and the like will flock to, this sect freakishly travels its own path. 'I' has been made available in a limited run of 333 copies, hand-numbered and baptized in sacrificial blood." More...

Slipknot member Joey Jordison has unveiled details of his new project, titled Scar The Martyr.
Recorded at Sound Farm Studios in Des Moines, IA, Scar The Martyr's as-yet-untitled debut album was produced by Rhys Fulber, whose production and mixing credits include Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, Mindless Self Indulgence, Front Line Assembly, and more.
The album is slated to arrive later this fall via Roadrunner Records. The label also comments:
"Recognized globally as one of the best drummers in rock, Jordison is both a primary songwriter and the drummer for the Grammy Award winning Slipknot. The Scar The Martyr recording sessions saw him behind the drum kit, while also playing bass on all songs, and rhythm guitar on all but two songs.
"The album was written by Joey and lead vocalist Henry Derek, and joining them in the studio were keyboardist Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), as well as guitarists Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour) who collectively handled all lead guitars on the album.
"Scar The Martyr sees Jordison treading in new sonic territory and expanding upon his already remarkable abilities as songwriter and performer. A searing rock record that draws elements from post-punk and industrial music to create an immersive and modern attack, Scar The Martyr creates a menacing and enveloping palette of surging synthesizers layered under heavy guitars and Jordison's trademark precision drumming. That’s what we are trying to convey with our next record. We spent an immense amount of time writing and doing pre-production to ensure we lived up to our own expectations and our fans. We believe this is the best representation of what Until Dawn is right now. We are extremely proud and excited to get this record to our fans, to make new ones and hit the road to play the new songs live.
"Our single 'This Fallen Fortress' started as a song about being from Fort McMurray and the struggles we face as a band secluded so far north. But quickly turn into being about gaining strength through out any obstacle you are faced with. We as a band believe you can find strength and perseverance in any situation, and turn it into a positive. Let this dawn awaken."

Wilson is a band that has toured relentlessly since 2010, through big cities and little podunks. A band that records its albums the ol' fashioned way: with instruments. And analog gear. According to the press release: "Five years and one change of vocalist later, the quartet has recorded a new album. 'Curse the Cult of Chaos' features twelve sons which are of a somewhat dark and often very groovy power metal, with some unobtrusive insertions of thrash, which all fans of bands like Iced Earth will love. Robert Rogges vocals are mostly rough and sometimes growled, which makes them outstanding. The highlight of the album is definitely the rock-like, very melodic tribute-song 'Undying Legends,' which features lots of quotations from other songs and reminds us of metal legends like Ronnie James Dio and Dimebag Darrell. The catchy title track, 'Apocalyptomania' (which features some verses in German), or the fat grooving 'Ultra Rebel' must not be left unmentioned, because they really offer you good sound. The album has a powerful, contemporary production which does not take away the soul of the guitars and drumming and leaves some necessary edges to the sound."
