An announcement containing the surprise news was issued from the band today (June 20) explaining that Chiplin is no longer with the band. No specific reason is given, but there is no mention of the phrase “musical differences”.
"LOSTPROPHETS regret to announce the departure of drummer and founding member Mike Chiplin." It reads, "The departure is an amicable one with Mike leaving to pursue other musical opportunities and the rest of LOSTPROPHETS wish him well with all future endeavours.
"The band are currently writing the follow-up to their platinum-plus album, 'Start Something' and begin recording their new album later this year. The album has a planned release in early 2006."
Los Angeles-based cyber-metallers FEAR FACTORY have finalized the track listing for their new album, "Transgression", due on August 23 via Trillion Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Decadence - Prophecies of Cosmic Chaos", "World Declension" was recorded at Black Lounge studios and is "the most well-written CENTINEX album by far with everything from share brutality and speed to calmer melodic parts," according to a posting on the group's web site.

Relapse Records has announced plans to reissue the entire recorded works of seminal outfit Atheist. For starters, the label will issue a limited edition, foil-stamped box set comprised of LP versions of each Atheist full-length, in addition to the R.A.V.A.G.E. (pre-Atheist) "On They Slay" 7" EP. The box set will be limited to 1,000 and should be available in July. CD re-issues will then follow in late-Summer/early-Fall, beginning with the Elements album on August 30th. Here's a statement from Atheist guitarist/vocalist Kelly Shaefer:
"I am overwhelmed with joy to see the re-release of the entire Atheist catalog after so many years. I've toured extensively since making these records, and everywhere I go I run into people who were not just into Atheist, but who praised the band's uniqueness and how much it forced them to progress as musicians and push the boundaries as players. I have been hunting for a label that would treat the catalog with the respect it deserves and whose goal is the same as ours: to turn the new generation of extreme metal and prog metal heads onto Atheist. Relapse is that label as it has a true understanding of where Atheist helped to rewrite the timeline of metal."

Guitarist Ronny Tyssen of the Dutch melodic death metallers CALLENISH CIRCLE has posted the following recording update on the band's official web site:
"After playing guide guitar in order to help Gav [Gavin Harte] getting the drums on tape, it was up to Gail (producer) to do some editing on the recorded tracks. After that I was the chosen victim to show my abilities on the six-stringed axe. The first day we spent a couple of hours trying to find the guitar sound we had in mind. After trying some different set-ups and guitars, we definitely succeeded finding exactly what we wanted. I started recording the first of the 36 guitar tracks (nine songs with four basic guitars per song). I must say this went pretty smooth, so after three days of a little blood, minor sweat and just a few teardrops I finished the basic tracks of one guitar. For the other guitar's basic tracks we had to find another sound fitting to the already recorded one. Again we tried several set-ups before we were satisfied. And satisfied we were! The sounds match perfectly and are causing a big smile on my face every time I hear it. Playing the other guitar parts again took three looooong days. Respect to Gail and Rene (assistent studio engineer) for making such an amount of studio hours a day. Now it was time to play the clean, acoustic, melodic and solo guitars. The solo guitars were partly recorded by Muuk [guitarist Remy Dieteren]. After three (again long) days of experimenting with sounds, riffs, little extra’s and listening the songs over and over again we finally got to see some daylight again. With all guitars on tape, knowing it shreds big-time, I can get some decent sleep for the first time in weeks. But hearing the result, it must say it was definitely worth it. Next up is Maurice (Engine of Pain) recording the basslines. Maurice replaces Rocco [Rene 'Rocco' Rokx] (who is not a member of CALLENISH CIRCLE anymore) in the studio. More news about that soon..."
CALLENISH CIRCLE are recording their fifth album at a studio in The Netherlands with producer Gail Liebling (mastermind behind GAIL OF GOD). The mix will be done at Antfarm Studio in Denmark with Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, ILLDISPOSED, MNEMIC). Mastering duties will be handled by Peter Neuber at Mega Wimp Sound in Germany. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Sweet Cyanide", "This Day You Regret" and "As You Speak". The album will include a bonus DVD, featuring a professionally recorded (audio & visual) live show (filmed at the 013 venue in Tilburg), a home video of the band's trip to the Piorno Rock Festival in Spain, and a studio report of the recordings of their upcoming album. A November release via Metal Blade Records is expected.
Nile have completed work on the first music video for their new album. The video is for the song "Sacrifice Unto Sebek," and was shot on location in Atlanta, GA with director Chad Rullman (Mastodon) for Supercollider Films. Featuring the band performing inside an Egyptian burial chamber, the video is expected to debut imminently.

They have brought the tapes back to Bergen and will continue their work in Earshot Studios during this summer."
"Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" is tentatively scheduled for release before the end of the year via Sweden's Regain Records. GORGOROTH last year inked a deal with the French label Season of Mist for the reissues of their first three albums: "Pentagram" (1994), "Antichrist" (1996) and "Under the Sign of Hell" (1997). All three were re-released earlier this year in a remastered, digipack version.

End Of All have finally found a replacement for vocalist Will Jackson, who left the group late last year. The band recently added singer Daniel Wood to their line-up and have since tracked three demo songs. The new songs are available for download here. Meanwhile, End Of All has also announced the addition of bassist Bryan Stancil.
According to a posting on the GORGOROTH web site, the promoters of the band's previously announced August 13 show in London have cancelled the gig "due to financial reasons." The group's next live appearance will take place on July 2 at the With Full Force festival in Leipzig, Germany.
Swedish "dark death metal" act RUNEMAGICK have commenced the recording proces for their new album at Andy LaRocque's (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE) Los Angered Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. "Daniel 'Mojjo' hammered his drums with fury and after two songs, the hihat, one crash and one china cymbal was broken... powerful drumming of doom!!" the band write on their web site. "Daniel recorded each song as one takes with great feeling as always."
The band added: "As all the main material was recorded and done the day before, it was time to record a bonus track with the working title 'Runemagick' with Nicklas Rudolfsson behind the drums. And the first recording session for the upcoming album is done without any problems (except cymbal mayhem). Additional guitars, bass and vocals will probably be recorded during the summer and mix is planned later this fall."
