Seether is working on a new album and has issued the following update:
"What's up? This is Dale here and I just wanted to give you guys a quick head's up as to what is new is the world of Seether. We've been in Nashville for the past few weeks busy working on the new album and we're really excited about the new stuff. I definitely think it's the best stuff we've done to date so we're really excited for you guys to hear it and see what everybody's thinks about it.
"Working with Brendan O'Brien has been really great. He's a great guy, great producer and we gel really well with him musically, which is awesome. I think we just share the same vision of what we want this album to be at the end of the day. So it's been a great experience. He has a great crew of guys that her works with, real professional, really nice guys so its just been a good working environment and a good experience so far. We've taken a short break right now but gonna go back to Nashville in the beginning of next month and finish up the rest of the songs. We really don't have a lot left to do but when that's done, gonna go straight into mixing and start looking at options to get back out on the road.
"We'll probably be back on the road by fall and be out there playing these new songs and seeing all of you guys again. We're really excited and ready to get back out on the road and play these new songs for you guys. We look forward to seeing you guys soon!"

German metal band Mystic Prophecy has announced that their search for a new drummer is over. After months of auditioning and listening to numerous drummers the band finally got the right man for the job. According to his biography this is what Claudio had to say:
"Hey! My name is Claudio Sisto, I'm half Italian but was born in Southern Germany. I got infected with the Heavy Metal virus as a child, in 1996 I had my first drum lessons and so far I played in bands like Contracrash, Mantikor and Ungehobelt. With Contracrash I released an album, rocked the Bang your Head Festival in 2008 and also toured Germany and Finland. In May 2010 I joined Mystic Prophecy claiming the vacant drum kit's seat and I can't wait to kick ass with the guys!"

The official Symphony X MySpace page has been updated with the following statement about the band's activity:
"My apologies for the uber-delay in getting an update posted; we've had to coordinate MJR and me, band management, and multiple people at both the US label office AND the Euro label office spanning quite a few time zones in all. Hopefully it'll go more smoothly from here on out as we all adjust to working together, but for now, here's your very belated update!
"Just spoke with MJR and here's the latest scoop! Mike said that the drums and most of the rhythm guitars are all recorded. At the moment, they are fine tuning the lyrics and melodies, during which time Russ will also be recording his vocals. Personally, I get more excited about this CD the more Mike tells me about it; I am quite secure in saying that it will be well worth the wait.
"While the band is busy working on the cd, we'd like to keep you busy as well; the band needs your help, in two areas. Firstly: the existing FAQ on the band's website was put together when 'The Odyssey' came out; obviously that was quite a while ago and lots has changed since then, including some significant gear/endorsement changes as well as a label change. So that's where you come in: help us put together a new FAQ for the new website. What do you want to ask the band? PLEASE do not send in questions like 'when are you going to play [insert location]?' or 'when will you make a dvd?'; best to stick to general information questions if you want the band to answer them. Send in your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org with "FAQ" in the subject line, and they'll be sent to the band; who knows, your question may show up in the FAQ on the band's new site! For those who have been wondering, we're anticipating that the new site will launch around the same time as the new CD. More...

British heavy metal outfit Ventflow has announced that they have replaced their former lead vocalist Lee Brennan with ex Tonne singer Harry Watson, as well as adding second guitarist Jake Ettle-Iles. A message from the band reads as follows:
"We are glad to announce that we now have a full lineup again. We would like to welcome both Harry Watson and Jake Ettle-Iles into Ventflow.
"Harry will be our new frontman, taking over on vocal duties. His previous band Tonne/Blackout sadly split up not too long ago, but luckily for us we managed to snap him up before someone else did. Those of you who were lucky enough to see Tonne in action will know that Harry has a massive voice, and huge stage presence that will fit in perfectly with our music. Check out his previous band and you’ll hear what we mean: Tonne Myspace
"We have decided in the wake of the recent band shake-up that it would be the right time to introduce a second guitarist to beef up our sound, and allow us more flexibility and dynamics in the new material. Jake is our man for the job, a rhythm monster, and we glad to have him on board. His previous bands include Painslave and current project Hate Mechanism
"Both Harry and Jake share the same influences as us, so the new material we write will be along the lines of our original direction, only with a far more powerful and focused sound. We can’t wait to get some new tracks down and get out there gigging again!"
