Megadeth's new track "Sudden Death", which will appear on the forthcoming Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock game can now be heard in its entirety online. Dave Mustaine tells RollingStone.com the track is brutal, and the song has a "funky kind of polyrhythm to it" which will make it even more difficult for the Guitar Hero elite. "Just the sheer repetitiveness of it can blow people's minds" added Mustaine. You can listen to "Sudden Death" in IGN Entertainment's live demo of the game below.
Wendy Dio, wife of the recently deceased Ronnie James Dio, has issued the following statement about bands releasing Dio tribute albums:
"Dear Friends and Fans of Ronnie, I have seen lately on Blabbermouth.net a lot of announcements of bands releasing 'so-called' Dio Tribute CD's. Please do not be fooled by thinking they are doing this for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, the money is going in their pockets and not to the Fund. I find this totally disgraceful and upsetting that they are trying to make money off of Ronnie's death."
Ronnie James Dio passed away due to stomach cancer on the morning of May 16th, 2010.
Sweden's Gra, which includes Heljarmaðr (Cursed 13) and Dimman (Spazmosity), is currently streaming a new track online. The new song "Helfärd (att dö...)" can be heard via Gra's MySpace page. The band has previously issued the following statement about the concept of Gra:
"The aim is to capture the old school feeling that we miss in the black metal scene of today. The lyrical concept reflects the name of the band (Grá/Grå/Gray), aging, dying, dullness, the falling apart that is inevitable for all. We are now finished with our 4 track EP. It will be released during this summer, we have not yet decided upon how and when though. We are working on that issue..."
Suicidal Angels has issued the following update about performing at the Greek Sonisphere Festival, which takes place on June 24th in Athens:

Once again we will perform for our (growing in numbers) friends in Greece, and warm up them heads for Bullet For My Valentine, Stone Sour, Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, and Metallic-fuckin-A! We will start our show at 12.15, on the Saturn Stage and we know that our die-hard supporters (and not only) will be there to share this with us for one more time! See you soon."

Vocalist Kelly Shaefer, of progressive metal legends Atheist, has just released a handful of acoustic tracks via his solo myspace page.
Shaefer commented by saying:
"After a year's worth of shredding and writing non-stop Atheist metal, in the last 10 weeks I wrote a bunch of tunes that are very far from metal. They are just sketches with friends, but for those with an open mind, I welcome you to check them out and your feedback is welcome. They are just demos, and mostly acoustic, so don't bitch at me about it, hahaha. I have plenty of metal for you all when the next Atheist album hits, and recording starts July 5th, but for now something different...a calm before the storm perhaps. So this is the new site where I will post all of these new collabs with piano players, sax and cello players and all my friends who enjoy writing music of many different colors. I do plan on making an album's worth of material in 2012 that will be a 'Kelly' record, and it will be all over the place style-wise."

Astronaut Michael J. Massimino gave four members of Iron Maiden a comprehensive tour of the world-famous NASA Space Center. Massimino comments, "Having a visit from Iron Maiden was great fun. It was a pleasure to meet them and they are big fans of the space program. It was an honor for NASA to host them and a big morale boost for the entire NASA team to have Iron Maiden at the Space Center."
Says vocalist Bruce Dickinson, "We appear to have a lot of fans at NASA, and it was a real pleasure to meet some of them, especially, of course, a bona fide astronaut who has made a number of space walks. Hearing first hand of Michael's experiences was fascinating. He took us round the Space Station and Shuttle and up close to the incredible Saturn V rocket. Fans working in the Mission Control room had even put up pictures of the band on the huge screens where you would normally see the rockets taking off! The highlight was unquestionably the Apollo Room, from where the moon landings were coordinated, this was to step back into history. Looking at the relative simplicity of the equipment compared to today, it is amazing how they managed to pull it off. Each of us even got to take off, fly and land the Space Shuttle on the simulator, a real thrill. We felt very privileged and hope that Michael and our NASA fans enjoyed our Houston show as much as we enjoyed our visit with them." More...

Vocalist and guitarist Nergal comments: "First of all, we’ve overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin’ awesome storyline. It’s disturbing, crazy, and evil. We’ve had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. We are beyond excited! Wait and see…"
The director of the video, Dariusz Szermanowicz commented: "This time we decided to make something different. We'd like to make a video in "cinematic" style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found a great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. 16 hours of hard work resulted with best video we’ve ever made!"

Metalunderground.com brings you the exclusive premiere of technical death metal band AEON's new music video for the song "Forgiveness Denied." The song is off the band’s new release, "Path of Fire" (reviewed here), that just dropped in the states on May 25. The music was directed, filmed and edited by Standard Film Team Umeå HB and was shot in April in two different locations; band scenes being filmed in Östersund, Sweden and the storyline in Umeå, Sweden.
Guitarist Daniel Dlimi comments on the theme of the song and video: "There have been a lot of scandals revealed lately, regarding priests (especially catholic ones) who have been abusing children sexually. In my world, there is nothing more innocent than a child, and the ones who abuse a child sexually will never be forgiven. In my opinion, they deserve to die a horrible, painful death. We want to dedicate this song/video to them, the filthy fucking priests who have laid a hand on a child sexually; we hate you, and want you dead."

"In my opinion, however, I don't deserve this award. It should instead go to Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Angel Witch, and Venom, artists who have inspired me and without whom I would not be here tonight."
