Metal Mind Productions has announced the re-release of Artillery's debut album, "Fear Of Tomorrow," in a new digipak edition limited to 2000 copies.
Back in the 80's they were one of the biggest European thrash sensations on the scene characterized by intense, energetic riffing and unique vocals of Flemming Ronsdorf, somewhat reminiscent of Slayer and Megadeth from the same era. Their debut LP and the follow-up, "Terror Squad," have gained a legendary status, becoming some of the most thrilling thrash releases of the late 80's.
For years this album was nearly impossible to find, other than on the double album release with their second album "Terror Squad." However, that pressing omitted "King Thy Name Is Slayer" and the title track.
New digipak edition includes 7 bonus tracks and is digitally remastered using a 24-Bit process on a golden disc. The reissue will be available on July 21, 2008 in Europe and September 2, 2008 in USA (via MVD).

Fresh upon returning from a three week tour in support of the release of the band’s new album, "Wounds," Los Angeles’ THE FUNERAL PYRE will again head out on the road in July with labelmates, and fellow Southern Californians, ANTAGONIST for a two and-a-half week tour across the Southwest and West Coast. THE FUNERAL PYRE will continue to support their May 27 release of "Wounds," while ANTAGONIST will be on tour in anticipation of the band’s Prosthetic Records debut, "Exist," due for a fall release.
THE FUNERAL PYRE’s frontman chimed in on the band’s upcoming tour plans and has also issued several updates from the road in June at the band’s online weblog. The previous updates can be seen here, while the newest update is available below:
"So, I didn't really manage to find time to write about what happened in the last few shows," the band says. "Just know that they were all really good, we had a fun time and then the tour ended. Yeah, I know, not a good wrap up. Oh well. But I'll wrap the rest of this up. We had a fun three week tour in support of our new record 'Wounds,' which came out on May 27. If you haven't checked it out, please do. We'll be hitting the road here in a few weeks with our best friends in ANTAGONIST and we'll be teaming up with Sea Of Treachery. This will be another 2 1/2 week tour or so, so if you didn't manage to catch us on the last run, come out to these shows. We're pretty busy at the moment! Come check out the shows, have a good time. I'm sure we'll be on tour sometime in September as well."
In the meantime, THE FUNERAL PYRE will play two Southern California shows with Cattle Decapitation in the coming week and ANTAGONIST will be playing a hometown show this weekend before heading up north for a show later this month. Both bands’ music can be heard at the ANTAGONIST MySpace page and at THE FUNERAL PYRE’s MySpace page, including the new song "Black Earth," from "Wounds."

It should come as no surprise given the information revealed on Amazon.com and ads plastered all over web with "All Hope Is Gone," but Slipknot has announced its fourth album as "All Hope is Gone." "All Hope Is Gone" will be released via Roadrunner Records on August 26, 2008. The album was recorded this spring in Slipknot’s home state and is co-produced by the band and Dave Fortman.
"The nine" will spend their summer laying waste to arenas in North America as they headline the first annual Rock Star Energy Mayhem Festival, their first tour in three years.
"All Hope is Gone" is more of a statement than a record. Corey Taylor comments, "Every album we have made is a statement about that space in time. I think this era is the most mature, most beautiful and the most powerful. We have made an album that will show the road behind, the road ahead, and where we are as men. I think it's the best thing I've ever made. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong."
The album promises to blend elements of 2004’s Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and 2001’s Iowa, while adding a perspective, freshness and depth that only three years apart can bring. The first single, "Psychosocial," will be delivered to radio on June 30 and will be available digitally on July 1. A complete track listing will be announced shortly.

Like many things here, when I launched the member sign up, it was a quick and dirty job to allow for users to 1) reserve their username and 2) register for a couple of giveaways I had lined up.
Finally, I've completed some of the essential functions that go with a membership site, such as the ability to view and edit user profiles, as well as a "forgot password" and "forgot username" functions.
I have heard the comments about users too lazy to login to comment in the past. I would highly encourage all users with existing accounts to login and update their information. I have some things in store that will make your member accounts more valuable - as was always the intent - and those who have been around here for a very long time may even get some added bonuses. At some point I will also have to "clean up" (i.e. delete) unused accounts, so please go log in to your account today.
One very minor but important addition to profiles is the ability to mark them private. So as to not expose anyone's personal information without their knowledge or consent, all existing profiles have been set to private by default. You can uncheck this box when you edit your profile information. Profiles set to private will not show any personal information, but may show some sorts of site interaction, yet to be determined (such as favorite bands or rated albums, if any).
Currently, registered members get the following benefits when logged in: More...

The release date of the new Squealer album "The Circle Shuts" was shifted to September, 2008!
According to the first audio samples, "The Circle Shuts" will include a perfect mix of heavy riffing and great melodies. Soon, you can check out some audio samples on afm-records.de.
In addition to the new album itself, the guys from Squealer have a special surprise for all longtime Squealer fans:
"Lots of fans from the early years asked us, if we would like to re-release the very first Squealer record "Human Traces" (recorded in May, 1989), which was only available on vinyl and which is sold out since a very long time.
"We thought the time has come to put this songs finally on a CD, So we looked for the tapes with the original recordings to send them to the Finnvox Studio for re-mastering.
"Now, the limited first edition of 'The Circle Shuts' will include the remastered songs of the first Squealer record 'Human Traces' as bonus tracks!!!"
Deftones bassist Chi Cheng has recently posted his thoughts regarding the new songs being recorded for the next Deftones album, tentatively titled "Eros."
He states: "We've been locked into the studio, as you know, and are finishing the drum tracks on a song tentatively called 'Trempest'. It's heavy as fuck with a shitload of groove 'n even though it's been driving me crazy as it runs through my insomniatic brain, I am really excited! I always say this shit, but I truly believe this album to be well worth the wait and appreciate all your support and kind loyalty. The idea of finishing the album and getting out to play in front of y'all is a nice light at the end of my tunnel. We intend to tour extensively so don't fret."
MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has checked in with the following update:
"Just a quick one to thank all the fans from South America for coming down and making this year's trip with Megadeth such a memorable one. We've met so many of you... fantastic! This leg had the particular feeling of 'burning the candle at all ends' but despite it all, it was all about the music and bringing the music to you live. Mission accomplished and thanks for bringing the chaos! You Rule!!!"
CATTLE DECAPITATION have issued the following update:
“We’re taking a short break from writing our next album to come out and adorn California in gore!!! A couple notable shows are gonna be our first show in years at the old Covered Wagon building, now called Annie’s Social Club in San Francisco with our buddy Pete Ponitkoff’s (singer of BENÜMB) band AGENDA OF SWINE, our long awaited return to the Boardwalk in Orangevale - we regrettably missed the last show due to Travis being temporarily hospitalized for a panic attack - WE WILL MAKE IT THIS TIME!, and the BIG show at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA with friends PHOBIA, SKARP, THE FUNERAL PYRE, WATCH ME BURN, and many more!!!
