Reznor Says Bonnaroo Was NIN's Final U.S. Show

Nine Inch Nails frontman TRENT REZNOR stated that the band's performance Sunday (early AM) at the Bonnaroo Music Festival was their last in the US. The band performed in the early morning hours after the 3 hour Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band set. "It just dawned on me that this is our last show ever in the United States," Reznor said around 2 am; "Don't be sad. I'll keep going. But I think I'm going to lose my mind if I keep doing this, and I have to stop." Recently, Reznor also announced that he was backing out of the social media world.

Nine Inch Nails just completed a U.S. tour with Jane's Addiction as part of the NIN/JA tour. The tour itinerary brings them next to Europe and Asia as part of the 33 date, "Wave Goodbye" tour which will end on August 12th. The farewell NIN tour commenorates the 20th anniversary of the release of their first album, "Pretty Hate Machine."

Bonnaroo 2009 was deemed a success this year as sales were "up dramatically" over last year. "I haven't seen the final counts, but we were at 75,000 at least [Thursday] morning, up from about 70,000 [last year]," commented Ashley Capps, president of A.C. Entertainment, co-producers of Bonnaroo with Superfly Presents.

Charon Taking A Two Month Break

Finnish gothic metal band Charon has issued the following statement about taking a break from writing and performing:

"We have together decided to take some time out from song writing and album production. As from today we are taking a two-month break from Charon to keep things meaningful and to search for relaxation and less stressed creative inspiration. We will continue writing songs in August when we will think through our working methods and scan for potential partners. A small break after 15 years of hard work gives all of us a great possibility to do other things and look at things from a distance.

"After the release of Songs for the Sinners, the last album for Spinefarm, we played intensively around Finland and Europe for two years. After extensive touring we have worked countless hours to make the next and the best Charon album ever. The last two years have gone by really fast and at the same time emerging writer’s block has not made it easy for us. Lately we have felt that we have lost the ability to write great songs and playing has become forced. We want to be honest in all our work to ourselves and to our fans – and to make an album that we can stand behind. We will not settle for anything less. In addition, personal reasons and other music projects have had their influence on the pace of working. More...

Porcupine Tree Reveals New Album Details

Porcupine Tree has issued the following announcement about their upcoming album:

"Porcupine Tree are happy to announce the forthcoming release of their tenth studio album ‘The Incident’. The record is set to be released via Roadrunner Records worldwide on 21st September, as a double CD.

"The centre-piece is the title track, which takes up the whole of the first disc. The 55-minute work is described as ‘a slightly surreal song cycle about beginnings and endings and the sense that ‘after this, things will never be the same again’.’

"The self-produced album is completed by four standalone compositions that developed out of band writing sessions last December - Flicker, Bonnie The Cat, Black Dahlia, and Remember Me Lover feature on a separate EP length disc to stress their independence from the song cycle.

"Video footage of the band in the studio working on The Incident, as well as audio previews, will be available online soon. The band will tour extensively to promote the album from mid September onwards."

Malpractice Issues Band Update

Finnish band Malpractice has issued the following band update:

"We are not dead!!!

"Hey there folks! After a short break we are back in business! We're happy to inform you, that at the very moment Malpractice is writing new material. Jope and Toni got together on May 21st to check out some riffs and to jam, just to see how much material do we have to start with. And things started to happen really fast. After 1 ½ hours at the rehearsal place we had our very first new Malpractice song done!

"During that two day session we recorded about 10 minutes of material and so far everything rocks like hell! So it looks really good… The new stuff is pretty odd, but if you like the ”Triangular” stuff, you will definitely love the new stuff as well! We are on fire!

"At some point we are gonna release (yes, yet another…) diary about writing, arranging, rehearsing and finally (sometime in the future) recording the new stuff, so you can follow how we progress in making of the next Malpractice album. But please be patient, it still might take a little while before it’s in stores…

"Meanwhile, check out the Triangular-Tour Diary, to see how the last leg of that tour went. Toni will add the rest of the diaries there soon and Jope will translate them in English shortly after."
