DECREPIT BIRTH have uploaded another new demo, entitled "Through Alchemy Bound Eternal," to their official MySpace page.
According to a posting at www.maiden-serbia.org, SOULFLY frontman Max Cavalera (ex-SEPULTURA) and NUCLEAR ASSAULT/ex-BRUTAL TRUTH/S.O.D. bassist Danny Lilker will be taking part in a jam session at the Exit Fest in Novi Sad, Serbia on July 7. No further details are currently available.
SOULFLY are continuing to tour in support of their latest album, "Dark Ages", available now on Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Prophecy" was produced by Cavalera and was mixed by Terry Date, who has previously worked with PANTERA and DEFTONES, among others.
MY RUIN, the Los Angeles-based hard rock band fronted by Tairrie B, will be supporting ARMORED SAINT at The Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California ob June 18 then hitting the road and the end of the month to headline their own "Summer of Hell Tour" in Europe with guests/labelmates GU MEDICINE & BARRABUS in support of their latest album, "The Brutal Language", out now on Rovena Recordings/Undergroove. MY RUIN recently uploaded a new track from their current album via their MySpace page to coincide with the tour as well as a new video for the song "Spilling Open" which was directed by the U.K. duo Nasty & Sinister, who are currently busy editing the band's first official DVD. MY RUIN have have also recently inked a deal with Giant Merch and will be debuting their new official online store via the band web site at www.myruin.com when they return from Europe to headline their final West Coast shows (both with guests UNDER THE STONE) before they commence recording their next album in the fall with new members Chris Lisee and Matt Lechevalier.

The CD, entitled "Paul DiAnno - The Classics", is subtitled "The Maiden Years". It features brand new 48-track digital recordings from 2006 of the following songs:

DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — have confirmed that their headlining show in their hometown at Tipitina's on Saturday, June 24 will be their only North American appearance this year. DOWN filmed shows on their recent European tour for an upcoming DVD. The band will also begin work on new material shortly and are tentatively planning on entering the studio in September to begin recording their third album.
DOWN's sophomore album, "Down II", was released in March 2002 on Elektra Records. The band headlined the second stage at the 2002 Ozzfest.
Louisiana death metal act SUTURE have signed with underground label Unmatched Brutality to release their second full-length CD, "Skeletal Vortex". They are looking to enter the studio later this year.
SUTURE hail from the swamplands of Louisiana and have been brutalizing the southern reaches of the U.S. since 1998. The band released three demos — "Bloodsoaked", "In Cryptic Bliss", and "Deconstructing Anatomy" — followed by their 2002 debut CD, "Carnivorous Urge to Kill", which came out on U.S. label Deepsend Records.

Former BOLT THROWER frontman Dave Ingram has compiled three videos made from footage he filmed of BT when his new band DOWNLORD. supported BOLT THROWER in Europe earlier this year. Check out the clips:
BOLT THROWER were touring in support of their new CD, "Those Once Loyal", which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 76 — the group's highest-charting release in Germany so far. The follow-up to 2001's "Honour, Valour, Pride" was recorded at Andy Faulkner's Sable Rose studios and is the band's first album since the return of original vocalist Karl Willetts as a full-time member.
Bassist Michael LePond of the progressive metal band SYMPHONY X — who were recently forced to cancel a couple of European festival appearances after LePond was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease (an inflammatory bowel disorder) — has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"I want you all to know that I had my surgery and have been released from the hospital. I am feeling so much better now. I am eating normally and getting stronger with each passing day. I should be fully recovered in about three weeks. I want to thank all of the fans who sent get well wishes to me. I will read every single one of them. I will never forget how kind and caring you are. I love you all."
SYMPHONY X are currently working on the follow-up to 2002's "The Odyssey", tentatively due this fall. The band expect to return to the road shortly after the release of the new CD.
Seattle, Washngton-based black/thrash metal band IN MEMORIUM are currently seeking a keyboardist. More information is available on the band's MySpace page.
IN MEMORIUM's debut recording, "From Misery... Comes Darkness", was originally released independently in 2003 before was reissued last year via Moribund Records. The CD was recorded at Trillium Lane Studios under the watchful eye of engineer Curran Murphy (former NEVERMORE/ANNIHILATOR guitarist) and producer Todd Hooper.
On Friday, June 2, 2006, I had the pleasure of interviewing Devildriver’s drummer, John Boecklin. John was a very nice, laid back guy with a great sense of humor. After the interview, he, along with the rest of Devildriver, allowed me to eat my dinner on their bus as it was raining out and there was no other place to sit and eat.

Aussie metallers ILIUM have issued the following update:

Bulgarian death metallers ENTHRALLMENT have enlisted two new members - Vasil Furnigov (guitar, ex-NECROPHILIA) and Martin Nay (bass). The band is rounded off by singer Plam, guitarist Chris Hristov and drummer Ivo Ivanov. The first official Enthrallment photo with new line-up can be viewed here. As previously reported, Enthrallment are confirmed for the 2006 edition of Bulgaria's Monsters Of Rock festival is scheduled for August 3rd - 7th.
Nuclear Blast Records is currently offering a 7" vinyl picture-disc version of SLAYER's new single, "Eternal Pyre", to be made available in a limited-edition pressing of 1,000 copies on June 30. YOu can order a copy here. In addition, the regular CD single version of "Eternal Pyre" — which was sold in the U.S. exclusively via Hot Topic stores starting on June 6 — will be made available in Germany on June 23. A Love Ends Suicide's recent deal with Metal Blade Records has now been made public. Hailing from West Covina, CA, the metal/rock outfit recently completed work on their new album. You can listen to some of their previous material here.
CATTLE DECAPITATION will be performing a short set on the TV show Fox Rox. This will be the last performance of the band with drummer Michael Laughlin.
The band will be playing the songs "Success Is... (Hanging By The Neck)" and "Total Gore" from their new album "Karma.Bloody.Karma." live in the Fox Studios followed by a rather interesting interview with the host Troy Johnson. Details can be found here.

Chicago death metal band, Fallen Empire, have split-up. The band have issued a statement regarding the break up on myspace:
"Just to keep you rad kids informed ; due to personal and musical differences, the band has decided to call it quits to pursue other various musical endeavors. We will probably play one or two last shows here and there, and possibly have some kind of release over the last and latest recording which has never seen the light of day - in addition, to those who act now and send us a rad and cool message with something clever and imaginative to say; i will personally send a fallen empire propaganda bag in the mail to you, full of various leftover recordings, patches, flyers, and other various bits of fringe culture - serious, free fallen empire shit
so thanks much to the rad bands to whom weve played with and to all our rad friends and fans who rock more then we do - you all know who you are - keep lookout for our new bands coming up per say, listen to jasons band , bear attack to check out a fast thrashy and more experimental project"
The Los Angeles-based female-fronted metal band ECHOES OF ETERNITY (photo) have signed a worldwide record deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The group are hard at work recording their debut CD at a Southern California studio for a tentative late 2006 release. The album is being engineered, mixed and produced by by the band with assistance from Eric Ryan. Some of the tracks set to appear on the CD include "Circles In Stone", "Gardens Of the Gods", "The Kingdom Within", "Towers Of Silence", "Voices In A Dream", "Expressions Of Flesh" and "Lost Beneath A Silent Sky".

Swedish melodic death metallers ETERNAL OATH have parted ways with original singer Joni Mäensivu. "The band thinks that their musical development over the past few years has been such that traditional death metal vocals no longer feel appropriate," reads a posting on the group's web site. "Replacing Joni vill be Timo Hovinen."
In other news, "ETERNAL OATH is currently writing material for the follow-up to 2005's 'Wither' and musically it will not deviate too much from previous work," the band write on their site. "Ten brand new songs are ready for the moment and another three to four are under construction. There are preliminary plans for entering the studio some time this autumn."
ETERNAL OATH recently announced plans to release their first two albums on one CD. The set, entitled "Re-Released Hatred", includes the band's debut mini-CD, "So Silent" (1996), as well as its follow-up, "Through the Eyes of Hatred" (1998), both of which have been hard to come by for several years. In addition, it features a bonus track: a "mind-blowing" cover of AT THE GATES' "The Fevered Circle". All tracks have been re-mastered with greatly enhanced sound and the CD also includes a completely new, re-designed booklet.
ETERNAL OATH's third full-length album, "Wither", was released in March 2005 via Black Lodge Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Righteous" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg and was mastered at Polar studios in Stockholm.
