Ambitions has now confirmed their break-up. Formed roughly three years ago, the Connecticut band has released material with Bridge Nine Records and Surprise Attack Records, among others. The following statement has been issued:
"With members living in 3 states and various other demands of life, it’s been harder and harder to devote the time to this band that we feel it deserves. Between one of the members preparing for a reality show and another supporting the campaign trail for Barack Obama, things have been extremely busy outside of the band. Rather than become less and less active, we've decided to put a proper end to something that has meant a lot to us. This band has been a big part of our lives for the past 3 years, and we can't begin to thank everyone for their support and friendship.
"Since our beginning in 2005, we've had the opportunity to tour with our favorite bands, play some incredible shows, as well as work with three of the best labels in hardcore. We also managed to release an EP, a full-length, and lots and lots of vinyl! Thanks to all the members who have filled in as part of this project: Matts Fox and Fletcher, Brian "Handle," Mark Choiniere, Adam Opot, and Sean Martin. Also we'd like to give special thanks to Greg Thomas at Silver Bullet Studios for his endless patience in recording every piece of music we released.
"Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, we won't be able to make our long overdue trip out west to play Sound and Fury. However, we will be playing two final shows in CT, and we hope to see everyone there. This has been a great journey, and one we will never forget."
Here are the band's finally two shows planned:
6/14 The Wallingford Am Legion
8/31 The Wallingford Am Legion (last show)

Blabbermouth.net reports by way of The Pulse of Radio that SLIPKNOT revealed a few new songtitles in the new issue of Revolver magazine, which focuses on bands appearing on this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour. Among the tracks tentatively named are "Moth," "Chapter One," "The Eleventh March," "Dirge," "Dead Memories," "Vendetta" and "Psycho Social." Although the title of the album itself is not revealed, the band plans to unveil the name of the August 26 release any day now.
One person who might like to know more about the disc is SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who admitted to The Pulse of Radio that he's not up on the latest details. "I have not really spent a moment with this record," he said. "I'm working on myself, and I have been for the last three years, after my father passed and my mom has Alzheimer's, and kids are growing up, and everything's just crazy. So I spent a lot of time on me. So I haven't really even sat down and listened to this whole record to begin with. I don't even know what most of the songs are called."
"Clown" also told The Pulse of Radio that making the new record was both the "worst" and "best" recording experience of his life.
A heavier track from the new SLIPKNOT album will be sent to metal radio shows on June 15, with an official rock radio single coming on June 30.
The Rockstar Energy trek, which SLIPKNOT is co-headlining with DISTURBED, kicks off on July 9 in Seattle. More...
