Knoxville's deathcore champions Whitechapel are only days away now from the June 19th release via Metal Blade Records of an upcoming fourth full-length album. Feeling the new material is a pinnacle in their career, the six-piece decided to go with a self-titled release for this latest milestone in the continuing Whitechapel crusade.
The band is gearing up for a busy couple of months leading up to the end of the year, which will see Whitechapel hitting the road for the Rockstar Mayhem festival, a string of dates supporting Hatebreed, and a European tour with August Burns Red. It has been a great adventure, but unfortunately I have reached a point where I can no longer continue touring full time. A realization I initially made a couple years ago, but tried to push through for the rest of the band and the fans.
"Future plans for Molotov Solution are still up in the air, as I would not like to see this be the end. Please continue to support our members in their future endeavors. Either way, we will all continue creating music.

The band is rounded out by drummer and fellow MI student Tom Asvold, a Swedish transplant, as well as bassist Steve Hilson.
According to a press release, they have "carved a name and niche for themselves with a heady mix of progressive musical ideas, straightforward metal riffs, free jazz and pulsing electronica that has coalesced into a sound that is uniquely their own." More...

Frontman Chris Jericho comments, "It's the typical cliché, but Sin and Bones really is the best thing we've ever done. We've taken the heavy yet ultra-melodic style that has become Fozzy's trademark to the next level and I guarantee these songs will blow all of you away!" More...

Southern California’s dominating hardcore unit Xibalba have confirmed the details of their forthcoming sophomore LP, "Hasta La Muerte." The following press release was issued:
"Xibalba’s debut LP Madre Mia Gracias Por Los Dias — released in 2011 via LP by A389 Records and later on CD by Southern Lord — combined with a relentless touring schedule for the past two years, have earned Xibalba the utmost respect from hardcore and metal fans worldwide. After officially signing with Southern Lord late last year, the time for the band’s first official release for the label to be unleashed grows near.
"Taking their down-tuned assault to iniquitous new dimensions, Xibalba’s ravenous breakdowns hit with the force of tsunamis and their riffs like mires of quicksand on Hasta La Muerte, showcasing more than ever how well the unit delivers such low-end savagery while remaining resilient, undeviating from their course of destruction. The album now confirmed for North American release on August 14th, the band recorded with Taylor Young (Nails), and outsourced the album’s powerful cover art concept to renowned death metal artist Dan Seagrave (Dismember, Entombed, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, etc.)."

Italian solo instrumentalist Mirko Fadda has posted a new song online titled "Egolution," which you can hear below. Mirko also commented:
"This song is completely self-produced and is my first melodic instrumental attempt that I put together for guitar. The song is still structured like a song with vocals and it is supported by several melodic themes (which could possibly attract the interest and attention of insiders and outsiders the genre) with the 'real' guitar solo in the middle of the track, trying not to lose the 'light of the melody.'
"The title is aiming to show how, having this been made, I've had to learn and assimilate many new concepts that led me to 'evolve' (I hope) as a guitarist and musician in general. I'd like to thank all the people that walk beside me. Not behind, not forward but at my side.
"A special thank to all the friends that have been able to advise and support through the work of this little thing such as David Ciura, Luca Miolla, the 'Risonanze Folk' friends and Bonni Lonoce in particular." More...

It is with heavy hearts that Brooklyn-based sludge rock sorcerers Hull announce the departure of longtime guitarist Drew Mack from their collective. Mack will play his final show at Acheron in Brooklyn on June 29th (additional dates listed below).
Comments the band on Mack’s departure: "We are saddened to announce that our Brother, Drew Mack, has chosen to resign from the ranks of HULL. We wish the Wizzard the best on his journey through the tumultuous path of life. Upon the still of the darkest nights, we shall listen for his glorious yodel from high upon the mount. With challenging waters unknown, the ship shall sail farther. As always, your allegiance is not without glorious praise."
Adds Mack: "Together my brothers and I willingly leapt into the curl of the sea, eager to build the hull of a ship worthy of sailing from the golden halls of Valhalla, down into the many fiery stomachs of Hel. Though from Viking seed we all sprang, the cold power of raw lightning had not yet laid in our hands and the echoing brass of thunder had not yet yawned from beneath our feet and thrust itself up through the guts of our bodies... In our oaken ship we stand now skewed upon the quest. Wielding our axes with pride and honor, we sail to breathe light into the darkness and to turn dark back in upon the light; never leaning this way for a lack of that... And yet at a time when all look forward to the wisdom of the path ahead- even with all eyes together, into the quickening gray, not every heart shall pass this veil of mist. Some must yet dive again into the churn of the earth...
"'Through fire and water. From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak, I fought him, the Balrog of Morgoth. Until at last, I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. Darkness took me. And I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and every day was as long as a life-age of the earth. But it was not the end. I felt life in me again... I've sent myself back until my task is done. And I shall come back to you at the turn of the tide....' - Mithrandir."
Hull's upcoming live shows are as follows:
6/16/2012 The Sidebar – Baltimore, MD w/ Triac, Drugs of Faith, Musket Hawk Other Gods
6/29/2012 Acheron – Brooklyn, NY W/ Praetura, Gang Signs, Blackout (Drew Mack’s last show)

The age of the Republican/Democratic dinosaurs has come and gone, A Shift of Ages is upon us to RE-store balance across this Land. IT starts in the melting pot of the world and shall ripple out from here, like a hurricane wave of consciousness, the inner and outer forces of creation and destruction at work to BRING THE CHANGE. During the song, we hear the boasts of three Danish Viking leaders, Kale, Thorstein, and Halfdan, as they break their way through the Saxon lines, and finally, the lament of dying Saxon warrior as he drifts in between the world of the living and the dead. He cries out in shame as he views the victorious dead of the Viking army carted away to the heavens by valkyries, and his own Christian brother laying in the field to rot.”

This is their debut release on EMI Label Services and precedes their second album, 'Out Of The Darkness', which will be released early next year. 'A Light Shines...' is a defining moment for Sacred Mother Tongue, their stake in the sand as one the most exciting bands in British metal. Opening with the powerhouse chorus and heavy-as-hell guitars of 'Evolve/Become' and followed by the thumping darkness of 'Seven', it's instantly apparent that SMT have made a quantum leap on from their well-received debut album 'Ruin Of Man' in 2009, from which they reinterpret 'A Final Idea' as an acoustic number on this EP.
"And now, Sacred Mother Tongue in 2012 are channelling the melodic power of Metallica, the dark demons of Alice In Chains and the visceral intensity of Machine Head to create a vital update of all these influences coupled with a whole heap of skyscraping ambition. And it's that ambition that saw them head to China last month on tour, from which comes the final track, 'City Is Crying', another new song which received its live debut on those foreign shores.
"The band play their first UK show in support of 'A Light Shines...' on July 5th at The Intrepid Fox in London's West End. With a live show of quite spectacular proportions in the works this is a must-see showcase where Sacred Mother Tongue will unveil many of the tracks from the forthcoming album 'Out Of The Darkness' in a small venue, ahead of a full headline tour later this year. This is a one-off free gig and support comes from Cypher 16 and Imicus. More...
