"Sadly, our good buddy Elliot has decided to leave team TesseracT. We'd like to thank Elliot for everything he has done for us. We have loved having him be a part of this beast. He introduced us to a completely different side of our sound, as well the delights of Pho! Things we will always be grateful for.
"So, as well as continuing to write and record album 2, we are also on the hunt for that special (shpecial) person to be the new full-time TesseracT vocalist."

Warriors Of Metal Fest V just made the announcement that speed metal band Forte' was forced to cancel its appearance due to an injury. In the statement, WOM announced that Rhode Island power metal band Enchanter will be filling in the vacancy at the event. Below is the official statement:
"Warriors of Metal, Inc. is disappointed to announce that the Oklahoma City speed metal band Forte' has been forced to cancel its appearance at this year's Warriors Of Metal Fest V Open Air on June 30th. In an e-mail message to the organizers on June 4th, drummer and band leader Greg Scott stated the following:
"One week ago my brother, guitarist Jeff Scott, severely injured his right knee (acl) in a work related accident. We tried to rehearse yesterday, but it clearly is more serious than we thought. So, after seeing a specialist this morning, we regret as a band that we have to cancel all live shows planned for the near future. We appreciate all the hard work you and your organization has done. We hope the festival is a great success. This is a huge blow to the band, as we have a new album out June 12th. Hopefully with time the knee can be rehabilitated, as there is no band without Jeff. Best of luck to all involved and we hope to return next year....Greg Scott"
"Warriors of Metal, Inc. hopes for a speedy recovery for Jeff Scott and the opportunity to showcase Forte' at a later date. But for this year the festival lineup has been readjusted by the addition of the Rhode Island Heavy Metal band Enchanter, signed to Germany's Pure Steel Records, which has been on our waiting list for 1.5 years. We look forward to hosting Enchanter and stand witness to all the cool new materials they have been working on lately."

The tour follows plans to record a third album for Metal Blade Records, with recording officially beginning last week with acclaimed producer Sanford Parker at Soma and Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago.
Vocalist/guitarist James Farwell discusses the process thus far: "After slaving over these songs since last summer we have finally set up a hobo camp in Chicago to record with Sanford Parker. First at Electrical Audio then to Soma. Feels good to be away from home to make this record; new environment, new places to drink, it's good for us. It's also exciting because this will be our first recording with our newest idiot, Matt Wood, playing drums. Special thanks to Matt for topping up our idiocy."
What does Matt think of all this? "In keeping with my idiot life it seemed very natural to join these other idiots, and make a mother fucker of a record."
Catch Matt Wood, James Farwell, Dan And, and Masa Anzai at the shows listed below after they emerge from the studio.

London-based traditional metal band Neuronspoiler has announced the launch of a campaign on crowd funding website PledgeMusic.com to support the recording for a new full-length album, tentatively due in October 2012. The campaign page can be found at this location.
The group is currently writing and rehearsing new material fora first release since the 2010 EP, "No One’s Safe," and is appealing to fans to help raise the money by pre-ordering the album. Neuronspoiler drummer Tim Barclay commented:
“The way Pledgemusic works makes a lot of sense to us. Instead of borrowing money from a record label as we would in the traditional music funding model, we’re simply asking fans to go ahead and pre-order our new album right now. Your pre-orders will help us make the album. Once it’s recorded, you’ll get the music you’ve paid for and we won’t have anyone to pay back. Everyone wins!”
Guitarist David del Cid said: “I really think something that makes people get involved is the way forward. With this campaign, we’re really collaborating with our fans: asking for their help and giving them something exciting in return.”
Italian act Sound Storm has issued the following update about recruiting a new keyboard player.
"Sound Storm, close to the new album release, are glad to announce a change of line-up: the new keyboard player Davide Cristofoli, a very high-level musician, has joined the band! He will surely give freshness and positive energy to the Storm. Stay tuned with the band, Sound Storm are coming back!"
“I’m very happy for that,” says bassist Massimiliano Flak, “Thanks to him we’ll be definitely more creative, powerful and stronger than never before. Davide is already working along with the band on the new video clip and…on all the new stuff which will be shortly disclosed…!"
For more details on Sound Storm, head over to the band's official Facebook profile here.
With a week to go until the release of "We Search, We Dig," Arkansas act The Overseer is premiering a new video for “Amend," which was directed by Underoath's Daniel Davidson and can be viewed below. "We Search, We Dig" is due out in stores and online June 19th from Solid State Records.
“I have mixed emotions about shooting this music video,” says drummer Abishai Collingsworth. “It was one of the most fun yet exhausting days I’ve ever been through. Make no mistake - playing through a song 100 or so times can wear you out! But we endured it and are really pleased with the results. Daniel Davidson was really easy to work with and I certainly wouldn’t be disappointed if we worked with him again!”

Christwire, a satirical site mimicking ultra-conservative Christian news outlets such as the Christian Post, has posted a show report online for the recent 2012 edition of the Maryland Death Fest titled "Exposed: Satanic Black Necrometal Posing A Grave Danger To Our Children". Enjoy some excerpts from a "good Christian's" breakdown of the festival below:
For four days in May, over Memorial Day weekend, hordes of Devil worshiping, drug crazed evildoers descended upon the unsuspecting city of Baltimore to participate in a bacchanalia of promiscuous sex, drugs, Satanic music, vandalism, arson, and enough horrid perversions in the eyes of the Lord to fill a entire library full of St. Peter’s books. This celebration of death and all that is evil made no bones about it’s purpose, titling itself “Maryland DEATHFEST”!
In order to discretely blend in so as not to arouse suspicion and suffer gruesome tortures at the hands of these heathen barbarians I donned the obligatory uniform of these so called “Metalheads”; A black t-shirt with Satanic imagery and symbols, a pair of torn, filthy jeans and faux snakeskin cowboy boots. Not able to bring myself to blaspheme the Lord, I donned a Stryper shirt which had not been washed anytime in the last decade, an adequate compromise. My hair is washed and clean cut, so I donned a long hair wig that had been soaked in beer and rubbed into the dirt to complete my disguise.
Surrounding the festival grounds were two electrified hurricane fences topped with razor wire. The outer perimeter was ringed by a moat filled with pig’s blood swimming with venomous Nepalese Deathshead Adders, while the inner perimeter was patrolled by packs of rabid, black dire wolves and syphilitic pit bulls. The entrance was staffed primarily by Hell’s Angels motorcycle gang members armed with chains, zip guns and steel pipes who took every opportunity to inappropriately grope females and rough up the males, confiscating illegal drugs from would be entrants (which I witnessed them snorting behind the port-a-potties later that day).
After passing through the gauntlet of brutality at the entrance to the festival, I witnessed many ghastly sights that will haunt me for all the days of my life. I will attempt to adequately describe them here, but some of these monstrosities are so shocking and perverse that they should not even be written down, much less read by good Christian men and women (and most definitely not children!)More...

Portland musical enigmas Agalloch are pleased to announce a month-long bout of live performances this Summer. Slated to commence with a hometown show July 11th, the tour will include a nightly rotating set list featuring both new and early material with stage times anticipated to be between 90 – 120 minutes.
The band will be joined by Taurs, featuring Stevie Floyd of Dark Castle and Ashley Spungin (formerly of Purple Rhinestone Eagle), as well as various local openers throughout the journey, all hand-selected by members of Agalloch.
Comments the band in a collective statement: “We are excited by TAURUS’ experimental and challenging music and feel they are a perfect fit for us. We have carefully selected local openers whose music fits the environment of an AGALLOCH show. Where there are no openers selected, we will play nearly 120 minutes. We are all personal fans of the openers and encourage everyone to show up early to see them.”
This tour will also mark the release of Agalloch’s recently recorded EP "Faustian Echoes," a mammoth twenty-minute epic released through the band’s own imprint, Dammerung Arts. This EP was recorded at Jackpot Studio in Portland, Oregon with acclaimed engineer Billy Anderson (Melvins, Sleep, Neurosis) at the helm. It was mixed by Anderson and mastered by Justin Weis (Ludicra, Hammers Of Misfortune) at Trakworx in San Francisco.
Though stream and digital download options will be available in the coming weeks, the LP and CD versions will only be available at the shows during the dates on the tour and will be available via mailorder after the tour. More...
Behemoth recently completed a series of tour dates and festivals throughout Europe, and to sample what these shows were like, check out a clip of "Lucifer" live in Pratteln, Switzerland below.
Behemoth front man Nergal adds the following: "We are back home recharging our batteries before striking back at Hellfest and Graspop! Things are intense and it feels great to be raging across Europe with renewed show and refreshed set list! Unfortunately, we were kind of cursed when it came to weather forecasts on this European trek. One show in Austria had to be cancelled due to a massive thunderstorm. Nevertheless, we kept on conquering. Eight shows completed. A perfect warm up before summer. Hail to everyone who was there to support us!"
In other news, Behemoth has been confirmed for the Barge To Hell cruise taking place from December 3rd - 7th. For more information, the entire line up, and to book a room, visit this location. More...
Although based in Pennsylvania, Incantation enjoyed a 23 year musical career as one of the leaders the New York death metal scene. Incantation and Listenable Records' working relationship resulted in "Decimate Christendom" and "Primordial Domination" albums respectively released in 2004 and 2006.
The band has now renewed this unholy bond for an upcoming album currently being recorded in June and July for a tentative release date in Winter 2012. John Mc Entee comments: "We are proud to announce that our new album will be released on Listenable Records worldwide. We entered Mars Recording Compound June 8. It's be great to work with Bill Korecky again. Also we are looking forward to having Dan swano do the mixing and mastering it, I'm sure it will sound sick!"
The band also issued the following recording update via Facebook:
"Back in the studio today after some photoshoots this morning... more pics and some celvideos posted shortly! Alex and chuck are knocking out guitar and bass parts... john is overseeing everything while kyle is running around with his pants off in the parking lot... everything is business is usual!"

Season of Mist has issued the following announcement about re-issuing the "Phoenix Rising" album from Destroyer 666:
"After the success of last year’s reissue of the Destroyer 666 classic 'Cold Steel… for an Iron Age,' many fans asked for the 2000 masterpiece 'Phoenix Rising' to get the same treatment. Well that time has come! On August 24th (28th in North America), the Australian warmongers’ sophomore album will hit the stores as CD and LP in remastered editions with brand new artwork and liner notes from the band!
"With the release of their second album 'Phoenix Rising,' DESTRÖYER 666 reached a new dimension. British magazine Terrorizer saw the Australian warriors enter 'a new phase that mixes the best of old school barbarity with quality songwriting' and Aardschok chimed into this praise by giving 90/100 points. With their steadily growing popularity, DESTRÖYER 666 had clearly delivered a must-have masterpiece in the view of old and new fans alike.
"The icing on the cake is that the long-awaited reissue of 'Cold Steel…' in vinyl LP will be released on August 24th as well!" More...
German act War From A Harlots Mouth, which signed to Season of Mist earlier this year, recently entered the studio to record the band's Season of Mist debut. The band has checked in with the following update:
"Paul is currently recording the drum tracks for the last song over at Dailyhero Recordings, while Simon is adding some final guitar and bass tracks at his studio. In other words, the instrumentals are as good as done and we are heading towards the mix in big steps, while Nico is still working on the vocals. Everything is sounding heavy as fuck already, so we can't wait to move on.
"We're excited to be back at the halls of Dailyhero Recordings and can't wait to see the new songs shaping up. All the guitar and bass recordings have been finished at Simon's Moulder Masters studios already, so we only have to finish up the drums, vocals and mix here.
"Simon is also taking over the mastering duties this time around, so a lot of this record is actually produced and engineered by him, which is a new experience for us as a band. We're stoked with the results so far, so now it can only get even better!
"We are really getting a kick out of this new material and feel like it's coming out very extreme, discordant and quite unique."
Sonic Syndicate founding member Roger Sjunnesson has issued the following statement about his departure from the band and his new group The Unguided:
"Dear Sonic fans and fellow Musicians, I´m no longer a member of the band I founded with my brother Richard ten years ago. A couple of weeks ago Sonic Syndicate distributed a press release stating 'Last year we parted ways with two band members,' and I think this ambiguity requires some clarification. The first member they are alluding is of course Richard who left Sonic Syndicate in October 2010, and the second is - as some of you already figured out - me. However it should be noted I was in the band well into this year and that´s it.
"I will not go into any details. All I can say is that I never wanted this split to happen, and I did my very best to find an equitable solution. I have been in this band since day 1, written many great songs on all Sonic's albums that I am proud of, toured the world and met fans and every band I grew up listening to. This is nothing you give up easily and it feels strange to not be a part of this band anymore. But this is the last word and it's time to move forward. More...
Australian band This City Ignites has posted a new lyric video clip online for the song "Raging Bull," which is taken from the group's debut album "Streets Of Rage."

Agonia Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Swedish act Kongh:
"It is with great pleasure Agonia Records welcome Doom Metal outfit KONGH to the label's roster. This relatively new band, formed back in 2004, has quickly risen amongst the ranks of Swedish acts worth watching, being nominated to the P3 Guld Award (Swedish equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for their debut album. After a successful and intense tour with critically acclaimed YOB in September and October of 2011, KONGH focused on writing their 3rd to date album: yet untitled and expected for early 2013."
The band also commented:
"Three years have passed since our last album was released, and we're stoked to announce that the song writing for a whole new album is now finalized. We'll skip the in-depth details for now since it's nearly possible to give a sensible description of your own music, but there's definitely some new twists and dimensions there as well as the traditional Kongh riffage. One thing we can say for sure is that we're very enthusiastic about the songs and we cannot wait to enter the studio! It will happen at the end of the summer, with Karl Daniel Lidén (Dozer, Switchblade) in the engineering seat.
"Another thing we're happy about is the new record deal with Agonia Records. We've been in touch with them for well over a year now, and while we've had a few offers from different labels, Agonia was the one which seemed to suit us best. Our expectations are high and we're sure this will turn out great."
Putrid Pile recently released its fourth album, "Blood Fetish," for which we already streamed the title track. A while back, Shaun LaCanne's partner Jeanne Gore successfully underwent the first rounds of cancer treatment, which Shaun has been updating on his "Fuck Cancer" blog. Arizona death maniacs Reign Of Vengeance have started work on the follow up to their 2011 release, "Disemboweling Swine." Front man and founder Marshall "Fucking" Beck made the following statement about the forthcoming EP.
"Reign Of Vengeance has begun pre-production on a new five song EP. I can promise that as of right now this album will be extremely dangerous, simply because of its lyrical content. The music, as always, is speaking for itself in terms of masterly crafted horror-oriented brutality. Over the past couple of years I have begun to run within certain circles and have obtained knowledge about certain things that might happen to our deserving and pathetic race of humans within our near future. This will not be another meaningless gore-soaked 'total fucking brutal' album like the other cliches of the death metal genre, and this will not be like a black metal album that constantly attacks a force that may or may not even exist. This album addresses real forces and certain individuals that posses more power than can be contemplated by most common minds. I have always believed that music is a weapon and this album will certainly prove that. If upon its release there is not mass confusion and chaos amongst the common men and the Elite then I will be thoroughly disappointed. The name of this upcoming EP will be entitled 'The Final Solution; The Final Rebellion.' Expect brutality, expect bloodshed, but above all, expect revolution."
Chilean thrashers Nuclear are currently working on a new full-length album and follow-up to 2010's "Jehovirus," which is scheduled to be released later this summer. You can check out the band's latest update on the release at this location.

Obey the Brave has signed on with Epitaph Records worldwide and Distort Entertainment in Canada to release the full-length album "Young Blood" on August 28th, 2012.
"I remember listening to my Pennywise and Rancid cassettes back in high school and daydreaming endlessly about being in a band and touring the world," says lead vocalist Alex Erian. "If someone would have told me back then that I'd sign one day with the label that started it all, I would have never believed it. It feels unreal but my boys in OTB and I are definitely up to the challenge. We're extremely honored to now be part of the Epitaph family and are looking forward to many years of pure fucking destruction together!"
"Distort is known for its quality artists and killer track record here in Canada, but at the end of the day, what really caught our attention was how much the people behind the label genuinely care about their artists," continues Erian. "We couldn't ask for a better label to represent us in our homeland. We're so excited to join the Distort family!"
