UK Death metal band Bolt Thrower has delayed the recording of their new album. The band issued the following statement on their website:
We've spent the last year trying to write songs for a new album, planning to go into the studio this summer, unfortunately, after a lot of thought, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the recording indefinitely. We know everybody says that their new album is better than their last, but with us we really believed that. From day one we made it clear that we'd stop recording when we felt we'd written the ultimate Bolt Thrower album, we just never knew when that would be, we kind of took for granted that each release would get better and better. But we have realised now that our last release, "Those Once Loyal" turned out to be that album, and basically the new stuff we have written just doesn't match up to it. We have a lot of pride in our back catalogue, and we refuse to turn into one of the many bands (like the ones we grew up listening to) who end up releasing crap, and we're also not prepared to compromise by instead releasing an album of cover versions or a 'best of' album. Sorry to disappoint those of you looking forward to hearing new BT songs, but we always said that we would never release anything we weren't happy with or that, in our view, didn't at least match up to our previous work.
German power metal band Axxis has parted ways with drummer Andrè Hilgers. The band issued the following statement on their MySpace page:
"Andrè will concentrate his full energy on Rage in the future. We wish him the greatest success out there and we want to say: Thanxx for all! We're sure that we all will hear a lot of positive things in the future from Andrè."
Vocalist Bernhard Weiss also stated "Andrè is a great person and a super drummer. He would earn to reach the top-ten list of the best drummers in Germany. We will miss him."
Keyboard player Harry Oellers added "We wish Andrè all the best for his future and we're looking back on wonderful 4 years in a successful time."

On Saturday, Headbangers Ball will debut the new video from Montreal, Quebec death metal band Cryptopsy. The clip is for the song “Worship Your Demons,” which is on the group’s new album "The Unspoken King", which is set for a June 24 release.
The video was shot and directed by David Brodsky and the Mygoodeye team (Soilent Green, GWAR) in upstage New York. “David and his crew found an awesome dilapidated location for the shoot and we actually had to build a floor since there wasn’t one there when we arrived,” drummer Flo Mounier comments. “This is a straight up, brutal and in-your-face punishing live performance clip that pulls no punches. It’s basically two minutes of unabashed aggression and we had a lot of fun doing it.”
The video can be viewed here.

Warship, which includes Francis Mark and Rob Lauritsen of From Autumn to Ashes, is currently recording their debut album with producer Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Daughters, Pelican, Unsane). The disc is due out in the fall via Vagrant Records. You can check out the track "Toil" on the bands's new MySpace page.
From Autumn to Ashes will be going on an indefinite hiatus, vocalist Francis Mark stated, “It doesn’t feel much like a break up. Just feels like the end. It’s complete. I would say that we are going on indefinite hiatus because the term breakup suggests a more negative circumstance. There have been no quarrels between band members.”
"I’ve dedicated almost 9 years to FATA and it’s become something of a security for me. I’m looking forward to feeling uncertain and the freedom of starting a new band that has no definition. We don’t have any expectations or specific goals with Warship. We just want to play loud, have fun and share some positive music with our friends."
"The name Warship comes from a time last year when I was making worship candles (the tall, skinny glass jar candles you get in Brooklyn dollar stores and bodegas)," continues Mark. "They have paintings of saints on one side and a prayer on the opposite. I was buying blank candles and doing my own paintings on them. A friend asked me on a phone call what had I been up to and when I said "making worship candles," she thought that I meant candles with actual warships on them. This led me to thinking about the relationship between the two. How discouraging it is when 'worship' begets 'warships'."
