Death Angel's first ever LIVE DVD, "Sonic German Beatdown," is out now. Five years after the acclaimed comeback album, "The Art Of Dying", and the following album, “Killing Season,” DEATH ANGEL has released a DVD with two full length concerts filmed in Germany.
The DVD includes 2 discs filmed live at The Rock Hard Festival 2007 and a club show in Adelsheim 2008. Bonus material includes music videos for “Thicker Than Blood” and “Dethroned” and a live CD of the Rock Hard Festival performance. The set is also available in double album vinyl.
US war metal legends AT WAR are pleased to announce that their new studio album, entitled "Infidel," will be unleashed upon the masses on August 18th 2009. Their first new studio album in over 20 years, "Infidel" features nine tracks of pure war metal.
Formed in 1983 by guitarist Shawn Helsel, bassist and vocalist Paul Arnold and drummer Dave Stone AT WAR went on to solidify themselves as one premier metal bands in the American underground. After the reviews and college radio play of their 1985 demo "Eat Lead," AT WAR went on to release their albums "Ordered to Kill" (1986) and "Retaliatory Strike" (1987) for New Renaissance Records. A follow up to "Retaliatory Strike" was recorded in 1994 but ultimately scrapped, which prompted AT WAR to go on an indefinite hiatus only to have the beast awaken from its slumber in 2006 to begin working the material that would become "Infidel."
Throughout 2007 and 2008, a series of triumphant US shows and festival appearances in Europe and Mexico showed AT WAR at the top of their game and unphased by the passage of time or musical trends. Earlier this year AT WAR once again entered Pyramid Sound to record "Infidel" with Alex Perialas known for not only has work on AT WAR’S seminal 1987 album Retaliatory Stike but for genre defining albums by such bands as ANTHRAX, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, NUCLEAR ASSUALT, ETC. "Infidel"’s stunning cover artwork comes courtesy of legendary illustrator and photographer Claudio Bergamin.
Here are the upcoming AT WAR shows:
July 24th @ Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC with Mobile Death Camp, Kiff, and Armored Uprising
July 25th @ Alley Katz in Richmond Va. with Beyond Fallen and guests.
You can listen to some of AT WAR's music on their MySpace player.

MetalSucks polled 57 musicians, managers, label reps, publicists, and writers from within the world of metal (including the staff of MetalSucks) for the 21 Best Albums of the 21st Century... So Far. Eligible albums were released between January 1, 2000 and April 1, 2009. Each panelist turned in a ballot, with their #1 album pick being awarded 21 points, their #2 album being awarded 20 points, their #3 album being awarded 19 points, and so on and so forth. Then, once all the ballots were in, we tallied 'em all up and compiled the final list based entirely on which albums had scored the most amount of points.
MetalSucks is now counting down the list one album a day, starting at #21 until they reach the #1 album in July. In addition to the MetalSucks staff, we've recruited some cool guest writers - including contributors to Decibel, Revolver, Metal Injection, NoiseCreep, and many others - to blog about each album.

A trailer for “Blood Into Wine,” the widely anticipated documentary that shares the story of Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer front man Maynard James Keenan and his vineyard partner Eric Glomski and their quest to bring the wine industry to Arizona’s Verde Valley is now available as a high resolution download and streaming at www.twinklecashcompany.com.
Keenan’s various musical entities (Tool, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle) have sold over 10 million records in the US alone while the man himself has revealed little of his personal life. “Blood Into Wine” gives unprecedented insight into Keenan’s world and his motivations for taking on the arduous task of bringing winemaking to the region’s unforgiving landscape and how winemaking fits into Keenan’s creative trajectory.
The film is being co-directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke (the filmmakers behind critically acclaimed documentaries "Moog" and "The Heart Is A Drum Machine") and is set to wrap production in September with a limited theatrical release in February and March 2010. With the striking setting playing such an integral role in the shaping of this story, Page and Pomerenke elected to use a Red One camera (one of the highest quality digital cinema cameras available). The film is being shot by Cary Truelick, edited by Rob Beadle, and produced by Ryan Page, Christopher Pomerenke, Chris McDaniel, and Jason Stall.
An accompanying soundtrack with original material from Keenan will accompany the release of the documentary with more details to be announced soon.
