Blind Guardian frontman Hansi Kürsch checks in:
"Not a lot to tell, as usual. We travel, work, travel, and need to find sleep on the plane. The first warm up shows and the Promo Tour in Europe have been very enjoyable and this weekend we are going to do a video shoot for 'Another Stranger Me' in Belgrad/Serbia. I think this will be the first BG video clip worth watching. The storyboard is really creepy and I am anxious to see how it will finally turn out. Apart from that, we headline two festivals in Spain: Jerez (July 29) and Gernika (July 30) and do lots of promotion in between. I will tell you more once there is more to tell..."

Billboard.com reports: System Of A Down's post-Ozzfest life will include a new band for guitarist Daron Malakian. The artist is in the process of forming and writing songs for Scars On Broadway, which will start operating in earnest once Ozzfest wraps in mid-August. The band is shooting to have its debut album out in the summer of 2007.
"I'm still kind of getting the whole band together at this point," reports Malakian, who is SOAD's chief songwriter. "After I get back home from Ozzfest that's pretty much what I'll be focusing on.
"I think a System fan will be able to relate to the music, but there's a few different directions I want to take, whether it be a little bit more ethnic or sometimes electronic," he adds. "There's just a few artistic directions I want to take with Scars that I haven't taken with System yet."
Malakian says that so far he's brought in a drummer/percussionist to be part of the band and says that SOAD bassist Shavo Odadjian will likely join as well. Odadjian is also working on an album collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan's RZA.
The new band does not mean SOAD will be splitting up. But after 10-plus years of constant work -- including last year's pair of chart-topping albums, "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" -- Malakian says the group does plan to take a lengthy break.

Former MOTOGRATER vocalist Ivan (Ghost) has issued the following update on his current activities:
"I get more e-mails than I can possibly reply to, so I decided to publicly answer all the questions about what I'm up to and where I stand with MOTOGRATER.
"First off, I'd like to thank all the fans for their continuous support. I also would like to thank KORN, SHADOWS FALL, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, SEVENDUST, CHIMAIRA, MARILYN MANSON, DISTURBED, KITTIE, MINISTRY, Ozzy, Sharon and the Ozzfest crew and everyone else I had the honor and privilege to tour with.
"I had an awesome time with MOTOGRATER and I have NOT separated from my MOTO brethren with any malice or bitterness! We are just as much family now, as we have always been. We have achieved more than I ever imagined. We stormed Ozzfest in 2003, were the featured band on 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre', NASCAR 2004, and voted 'Best Band' of 2004 by Hit Parader. What a ride! …But times change and the pages of my musical life have changed as well.

Everyone who heard it understood why I have to do this, and gave me their blessings and best wishes. I am putting my undivided attention, and full efforts into FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. And believe me when I say, IT'S FUCKIN WORTH IT!!
