Metalhit.com, under license from Firebox Music, has reissued all three albums from Finnish doom metal legends Colosseum. The band is best known for its atmospheric and richly depressive doom compositions. The first album, "Chapter 1: Delirium," is often heralded as a "must have" for all doom enthusiasts. The band boasts Juhani Palomaki, of Yearning fame, on vocals, who sadly passed away in 2010, leading to the band's disbanding.
In spite of this, all three "chapters" of the band's career remain as monoliths for the doom metal scene to engage and appreciate to this day. These three albums are made available again, this time in digipak format with updated art and design. The band's last album, "Chapter 3: Parasomnia" features all new cover artwork. Earache Records is celebrating 25 years of bringing extreme metal to the masses and, as part of the celebrations, has released the "World's Shortest Album," striking fear into the hearts of radio DJs everywhere.
Earache is no stranger to world records, having previously claimed two official Guinness World Records, for the world's shortest single with Napalm Death's "You Suffer," as well as the world's shortest music video with Brutal Truth's "Collateral Damage."
Now, Earache is taking the idea of "shorter, faster, louder" to the extreme, with the shortest, fastest and loudest album around. "Earache: World's Shortest Album" celebrates brevity as an art form, featuring 13 extreme, straight-to-the-point tracks totalling just 87 seconds, smashing the previous 121-second record held by Canadian dance group Chromeo.
The attempt at setting the new record for the world's shortest album has been rejected by Guinness however, which no longer recognizes "world's shortest" records, explaining:
"The nature of competing to make something the 'shortest' by its very nature trivialises the activity being carried out, and Guinness World Records has been forced to reject many claims of this kind. As such, we have been forced to cease listing records for the shortest song, shortest poem and indeed the shortest concert."
"Earache: World's Shortest Album" is still available to the public however, and is out now on iTunes at this location.
The full track listing and times for the album are as follows:
01. Napalm Death - You Suffer (00:04)
02. Napalm Death - Dead (00:05)
03. Napalm Death - Your Achievement (00:06)

Like an encompassing dust storm full of fire and broken whiskey bottles and expended weed smoke, Tucson, Arizona's Godhunter is preparing to suffocate the planet with devastating hymns this year. The following press release has been issued about Godhunter performing new tour dates and working on new material:
"Through diehard D.I.Y. ethics and self-promotion, Godhunter have preyed upon the weak-minded scenesters and have defied pigeonholing genre classifications through a savage amalgamation of sheer heaviness, both live and through recorded proof via several EPs, split releases and compilation inclusions since their 2009 formation. All five members of the band are heavily involved in the local scene and hail from other previous and current acts across the region, yet bring their most ferocious dynamics to life in Godhunter; the result is a sludge-bred sub-hardcore blend of caustic riffery laced with multiple scathing vocal approaches.
"Godhunter' latest output, the 2011-released 'Wolves,' showcases the band's most crushing material to date, and while considered by the band to be an EP, the beast clocks in with over 32-minutes of material. Stream Wolves in its entirety now at Godhunter's Bandcamp page.
"With local and regional touring a constant part of the Godhunter mission of intent, the band have supported national acts including St. Vitus, Crowbar, The Sword, Red Fang, Early Graves, The Atlas Moth, Intronaut and Black Tusk in addition to countless indie acts. 2012 will bring much more touring to the table for the band as new live assaults are announced over the coming months. The band will also record/release several other indie releases over the coming months before investing time into a brand new full-length late in the year." More...
Singaporean grindcore trio Wormrot is due to kick off a European tour tonight in Bath, UK. The band will be grinding its way around the UK for ten shows, before heading on to mainland Europe for a mixture of festival appearances and club shows, including three shows in Italy with Swedish grindcore legends Nasum.
Wormrot frontman Arif Tot recently spoke with This Thing Called Progress ahead of the tour. An excerpt from the interview follows: "When it comes to touring, no matter if it's in Europe, US or Asia, personally, I get nervous every single time dude. But knowing that we will be meeting our old and new friends across Europe is a pretty fucking amazing feeling. Touring is basically the only time off from reality. Not worrying about anything else and just grind the fuck out."

Having formed in 1988, Pittsburgh's Derketa are the first all-female death metal band. When Terri and Mary left in 1991 to pursue other musical interests, Sharon continued Derketa recordings with the help of friends, primarily Jim Sadist from NunSlaughter. In 2006 it was decided to reform Derketa with the original lineup, this time with Robin Mazen (ex-Demonomacy) on bass and Mary Bielich assisting on guitar.
Now, after having several split releases and the "Premature Burial" EP, Derketa has issued its first full-length album after only a 24 year wait, "In Death We Meet," on Necroharmonic Productions. Check out a fan-made tribute clip for the new album below. Coming later this year a new horror comic book called Death Shreik will be coming out, featuring five short horror comic stories, each based on a song each by Derketa and the following four death metal bands: Rottrevore, Grave Descent, Acrostichon and Hubris.

Italian power/progressive metal act Adramelch, featuring Time Machine drummer Sigfrido Percich, recently signed a deal with Pure Prog Records/Pure Steel Records for the release of the "Lights From Oblivion" album. You can now check out a trailer for the album in the player available below. Pure Prog Records also commented:
"With their new album Adramelch did not take the easy path by copying themselves, but developed their style with a great sense of phantasy, which gives them any possibilities for the future to come. With 'Lights From Oblivion' they will inspire their present fans as well as reaching new listeners, that were not used to the band before. This comes because Adramelch prove in 2012 once again, that they are one of these precious phenomena, that music history very rarely bears!"

Saxon has issued the following announcement about postponing the band's show in Hatfield due to vocal issues:
"Hi everybody, we are in the middle of our studio work and recording right now some vocals. I have got a throat infection and it hurts quite a bit. We have made the decision to postpone the show in Hatfield into September/October.
"It would be too risky to play an hour and 45 minutes and drive after the show up to Donington as we are on quite early and this could be a serious damage to my voice. Because of this we are thinking that we shouldn't risk the Download appearance and album. We are very sorry to cause you problems with travel and hotels but hopefully letting you know early is better than finding out the night before. It's not cancelled! We will let you know a new date ASAP and maybe we play you a couple of new songs. I hope you all understand and have a great time at Donington!"
The band also followed that message up with the following addendum:
"Saxon is playing Download! To avoid any misunderstandings we want to let everybody know that Saxon only postponed their Show in Hatfield. That won't effect their appearance in Donington!
"Saxon are really looking forward to the Show at Download and are sure to celebrate a fantastic gig! See ya all in Donington!"

In Solitude's vocalist, Hornper, elaborates on the creative process behind the new piece of art, "We have now explored her further. This time in a field within which we've undeniably have had very little experience nor vocation. It's a series of portraits. Attempted visual translations. A fragile breach. Mirroring certain aspects and fragments of the experiences lying in the basis for the song's emergence, and its lyrics. The creative collaboration Johan Bååth and everyone involved was a very rewarding experience for us. And as our first attempt with this medium, we are very thankful to him for working with us. Not to mention his crew and the great contribution of Anna Norberg, Erik Danielsson and Marie Larsson, for which we are incredibly grateful."

Six years ago, Chris Hathcock was an established drummer for a death metal band in North Carolina when he decided to leave and create his own band. Ever since the first album, "Hymns for the Dejected," Chris has carved out a niche as a dark balladeer with his band. Now on its third album, this one-man band/vehicle for Chris' inner musings has really started to create its own following. The Reticent's Chris Hathcock joins us today to discuss his latest album "Le Temps Detruit Tout" and gives us an inner look at what music and themes have been occupying his thoughts. More...

The moshing beast F.K.Ü. (Freddy Krueger’s Underwear) has signed a new contract with Napalm Records. Vocalist Larry Lethal from F.K.Ü. comments:
"Greetings moshoholics! We are proud to announce that we have partnered up with the mighty Napalm Records in order to spread the message of mosh worldwide. We started off as a DIY band but have now reached the point where it is better for us to focus on the art and let someone else handle the business. We hope this will be a long and fruitful relationship and we know it will be very beneficial to all you moshoholics out there. We salute Napalm Records and look forward to releasing our 4th album. More details surrounding this release will be coming soon, so stay tuned…"
Napalm Records also issued the following biography about the band:
"F.K.Ü. first raised its ugly head back in 1987. But after just a handful of something that was supposed to be rehearsals but more resembled cheap beer and pizza fights, the band fell into a hiatus. It wasn't until confronted with a strange guy called Larry in early 1997 that the band considered bringing the slumbering beast back to life again. After the overwhelming response of the 20-song demo "Beware of the Evil Underwear"recorded in 1998, the guys decided to put some more effort in, so they spent nine days in Dugout Studios with engineer Daniel Bergstrand to lay down the classic tracks that would come to complete their moshing magnum opus 'Metal Moshing Mad.' The 22-track mosher showed the world that it’s still possibleto have good, friendly, violent fun and create music that makes you diving to get to the nearest mosh pit. After the release and some successful festival the band slowed down the pace as the members also paid their dues in other metal acts, taking up more and more of their precious moshing time. More...

Speaking on the tour, Townsend stated: "So after a break in which we've managed to finish the live DVDs from the London shows (‘By A Thread’) as well as our surprisingly epic new record, 'Epicloud'...We're about to start getting into touring mode again, and it pleases me to announce that we'll be with some wonderful bands this Fall. I think this package pretty much covers the gamut of emotional heavy music, and really...It'll be nice to share the stage with some passionate folks who live for their music as much as we do. Again, we can't thank you enough for supporting what we do and allowing us to play for you. It will be nice to catch up, and we hope to see you there!"
