After a period of silence from the band, Blacklisted has revealed that they are currently recording their new album, due out later this year. The new album is the follow up to their heralded "Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God" album. No further information is available at this time.
The debut full length album "Sleepwalking" from Memphis May Fire will be available everywhere July 21, 2009. The Dallas boys wrapped up in the studio with producer Casey Bates (Chiodos, A Skylit Drive) and are ready to hit the road.
Singer Matt Mullins checked in from the studio to say, "Sleepwalking is a new breed of rock n' roll. We wanted to have an honest lyrical message but also tell people that there is still hope in this crazy world, and that there is more than just the here and now. Our fans will notice that music wise, it's much more aggressive guitar work and noticeably more melodic, but still retains that southern swagger. We are very proud of this record and we are sure both old and new fans will love it."
The final track listing for "Sleepwalking" is:
1. North Atlantic VS North Carolina
2. A Giant In a Giants World
3. Your Lucky Its Not 1692
4. Ghost In The Mirror
5. Been There, Done that
6. Quantity Is Their Quality
8. Destiny For The Willing
9. The Face With No Name
10. Speak Now I'm Listening

Sydney underground black metal band Vrag is set to record their follow up album to "Black Plague of Human Extinction," which was self released earlier in 2009 by the band. The band’s press release follows:
“This is a message from Vrag to our fans, who we know are legion. After 2 years in the abyss, we are once again whole with Borevit (guitar) and Exciter (drums) stepping up to the challenge of being in this most hated band. After a 5 date tour in early April that took us from Sydney to Hobart with no loss of life or limb supporting the great Anno Domini Mortus (NZ), we have embarked on a full-length recording. This is being done in my home studio and is progressing quite well, now 6 tracks in and about 40% complete. Expect a blending of the most heinous strains of Black Metal into what we know will be a dark, dynamic, angry album with no pretence towards progressivism and spit-polish or any of that shit that’s supposed to get you endorsements, educated nods, and 'rave' reviews. Black Metal being the last bastion of Rock ‘n Roll, where it is still dangerous and hated by squares, expect from us nothing less but a relentless work of bitter loathing and cold cynicism.
“As we do not expect this disk to see the light of day for some time, things in the underground tending to move somewhat slower than the speed of thought nor do we have immediate plans to desecrate the stage, I offer to you a demo recording that we have put out in September 2008. The original was limited to 50 tapes, but here at Vrag, we feel it deserves another airing. 'Dead to Christ by Sabbat’s Dawn' documents our performances around this time and was recorded in a toilet using Neanderthal technology. You have been warned. Enjoy!”

Canadian metal band, Elevator 22 has decided to call it quits. The band has provided the following explanation:
"After nearly nine years as one of the pillars of heavy metal madness in Hamilton, Ontario, Elevator 22 has finally called it a day. This past May 15th marked the final show for Elevator 22. The band has broken up quietly and amicably and the best reason we can provide right now is that Elevator 22 has simply run its course. After nearly a decade together, musical tastes and band chemistry are bound to change. Moreover, after slogging it out for nearly ten years, it’s time to vacate the niche we’ve inhabited and let the newcomers have a shot." More...

Amorphis guitarist Esa Holopainen has posted the following message regarding the error in the digipak version of the band's latest album, "Skyforger":
"As many of you may have noticed, the 'Skyforger' digipak release includes two very little sound level errors. We heard about this yesterday and you can imagine how we feel. As we don’t have the actual copies ourselves, we as a band couldn’t react any earlier, which makes this more painful. The album for which we gave 100% percent of ourselves, a lot of time and work, shouldn’t end up like this.
"The sound level errors occur for a few seconds on two tracks: 'My Sun' (piano fill) and 'Skyforger' (middle part).
"Why did this happen? Due to a mastering error. We can’t blame anyone for this as it seems that it has really been a technical problem and at this point it makes no difference anyway.
"The good news is that Nuclear Blast are working hard to get replacement CDs for people who want to exchange their copy. Another good fact is that all other formats (jewel-case, US- & JAPAN editions, all digital versions, vinyl) work perfectly.
"One thing on which we also work now in this moment is something that can’t replace the actual CDs but is at least a little relief: Nuclear Blast is offering free downloads for 'My Sun' and 'Skyforger' via download: http://nuclearblast.de:8080/amorphis-cv/.
"Beside all this mess I really hope and believe you can enjoy the album! You can also regard this digi-pack as a rare collector’s item. :)"
