After the maiden voyage in 2012, Decibel Magazine is doubling down on veteran star power for a second annual national tour. "We're psyched to be headlining this year's Decibel Magazine Tour along with Immolation and Napalm Death," says Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster. "This is a lineup of bands that have been a consistent part of the death/grind scene for decades, and we're proud to be a part of it. It will be a legendary night for extreme music." More...
Following a few months on a hi[gh]atus from tour, Cape Fear sludge-slingers Weedeater will hit the bong and the road once again later this month.

Additionally, today Noisey/VICE whipped out the first episode of their new video series Heavy Dicks, which features Weedeater frontman and cough syrup aficionado Dixie Dave Collins. Dixie and the ‘Dicks crew put their fine appreciation for several varieties of cough suppressants to the test, pairing them with specifically-chosen varieties of fine cheese. Check it out right here.

Swedish melodic death metal sensation Darkane is excited to reveal the details on upcoming album, “The Sinister Supremacy.”
The album will not only mark the first new music from the band in over five years, but will also include the return of vocalist Lawrence Mackrory, who was last heard on the band’s 1999 debut “Rusted Angel.”
The new album's track listing is:
1. Sounds of Pre-Exsistence
2. The Sinister Supremacy
3. Mechanically Divine
5. The Decline
6. Insurrection is Imminent
7. In the Absence of Pain
8. Humanity Defined
9. Hate Repentance State
10. Collapse of Illusions
11. By Darkness Designed
12. Existence is Just a State of Mind
Darkane also comments: “The Sinister Supremacy is a metaphor for the evil that controls us. It’s the dark part of our minds and it’s inside us all. It tells us it’s ok to do bad things, to hurt other people, and hurt ourselves. It guides us into making choices based on pure selfishness, and it thrives on complete chaos. The cover art by Carlos Holmberg is a Rorschach test as seen by an individual who has completely succumbed to the sinister supremacy.”
Pittsburgh technical death metal tyrants Kamikabe are currently fracturing limbs and tearing ear drums on the Bloodletting North America Tour 2013, which commenced on May 3rd. Kamikabe touring in support of the "Aberration Of Man" long player unleashed via Unique Leader Records last Fall.
Brought to fruition by Unique Leader Records, Kamkikabe joined by headlining label mates/French tech death metal masters, Gorod. Additional support is provided by Inanimate Existence (Unique Leader) and Vale of Pnath (Willowtip).
Comments the band: “We couldn’t be any more stoked about this tour! An opportunity to shred with Gorod in the States is not something that happens too often. Plus, adding Inanimate Existence and Vale of Pnath to the lineup, as well as several other sick bands on select dates, makes this tour that much more crushing! We’ve been sharpening our blades to destroy every city we hit. The years of hard work and support from everyone that has helped us along the way really speaks volumes for the death metal culture that we’re lucky to have!” More...

In celebration of the band's thirty-fifth anniversary, Killing Joke today unveils a latest video single in the form of “Corporate Elect.” The tune comes by way of the band’s "MMXII" full-length released last year via Spinefarm Records and serves as a taster of the band’s three-CD anthology — "The Singles Collection 1979-2012."
Conceived, filmed and directed by Mikee Goodman, the video is only the fourth official clip sanctioned by the band in the past few years, following “In Excelsis, the animated “European Super State,” and the “In Cythera” clips in which the band have barely appeared.
Notes Goodman: "This video has been my biggest creative challenge yet. I had never previously met Jaz Coleman, but was blown away by the powerful and passionate performance he delivered. I did not sleep properly for five weeks. Now I have, I have looked at it again with fresh eyes. And smiled. I was honored to be asked to make a music video for Killing Joke and so pleased to hear they liked it." More...
Three years since the band's previous album, Haust is back with its most raw and primitive release to date. "No" was mastered by Dave Eck at Lucky Lacquers and features artwork by Esben Titland. The following press release was issued about the album:
"A tirade of oxymorons in musical form, in the nine short tracks of NO the listener is pulled back into a time where rock and punk were synonymous with rawness and vulnerability; a worship of total humiliation, of the pleasure in realizing one’s own limitations. Like all outsider music, Haust celebrates those who walk their own paths; who run away from Sunday School to go berserk in the woods.
"The guys in Haust grew up in Notodden in the hills of Norway, in the shadows of hotrod hicks and the black metal crowd surrounding Emperor. Haust were never a part of these groups, but were inevitably infected by the mix of white trash and black metal. After Haust moved to Oslo they were quickly picked up by Tiger Record’s newly started label Fysisk Format. Ride the Relapse was the first album the label released in 1998, and with songs like 'White Trash Extravaganza' and 'Ugly Fucking Oslo' the band became a focal point and defining reference for like-minded people in Oslo.
"The follow-up release Powers of Horror from 2010 is a more complex record, the band’s visibility grew internationally, the band scoring a tour with Rotten Sound and Trap Them. Their 'Anti-Reproductive' agenda spread and the band ironically became the source of a load of new bands: the milieu that quickly was named “Black Hole Crew” spewed out shady bands like Okkultokrati, Dark Times and Blackest Woods. All these bands had two things in common: Primarily disgust for the choking chummery in Oslo’s music scene, and secondarily, they all featured members or production help from Haust. More...
Last week Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman tragically passed away, which left the fate of upcoming band activity in question.
The band has now posted the following message online about continuing on with live shows this coming summer:

In support of the upcoming album "Graveyard Dead," Death Valley Driver has announced a four date tour around Atlantic Canada with Ontario's 2-man circus freakshow Monsters of Schlock.
"We're really psyched to be on tour with an act that's not typical for a metal band. The Monsters are a perfect fit and we hope we compliment their act as well," says the band's vocalist Dan Hodgson, adding cautiously "Expect a ton of chaos when we rip up the Maritimes together."
Burnaby Q. Orbax from Monsters of Schlock issued the following statement about returning to the east coast: "It's been years since the monsters have been to the east coast, and we're looking forward to tearing it a new party hole!"

Bolzer has announced May 13th as the release date through Iron Bonehead for the 12" vinyl "Aura." The following press release was issued about the band:
"Switzerland's Bolzer is one of the most unique entities the death metal underground has birthed in years. Following on from their well-received Roman Acupuncture demo (which was reissued by Iron Bonehead Productions), now Bolzer stake a stronger claim for supremacy with the brand-new Aura mini-album.
"With one foot planted in their native land's legendry (namely Hellhammer) and another one planted in a cosmos far away, this duo weave dread-inducing decibels that strike and recoil, bewitchingly serpentine in flow. The Aura is simultaneously chaos harnessed, and chaos unleashed: bask in its glow. Recommended for maniacs of Vassavor, Grave Miasma, and Essenz."
The track listing is:
2. Entranced By The Wolfshook

Melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquility will release 10th studio album "Construct" on May 27th in Europe and on May 28th in North America via Century Media Records.
In anticipation of this release, the band has now teamed up with Metal Hammer UK to launch the video for the new single "Uniformity." This video clip was produced and directed by Revolver Film Company and Patric Ullaeus. Check out the video here or in the player below.
The band comments about the video: "After the introspective 'For Broken Words' and the uptempo riffing of 'The Science of Noise', it's time to showcase the more anthemic aspects of the new album with the song 'Uniformity.' In contrast to the more experimental promo videos we made last year, we wanted the 'Uniformity' clip to be an intimate and genuine performance video. Nothing but the music itself and the band members playing in the rehearsal room. For this, we hired renowned director Patric Ullaeus, and we're very happy to share the result with you. Stand up and be counted!" More...
