Relapse Records has issued the following statement about Voivod streaming two new songs online:
"Two brand new VOIVOD tracks, ‘Earthache’ and ‘Global Warning’, taken from their forthcoming album Infini can be heard online now exclusively via Bravewords.com. Infini will see a June 23rd release date via Relapse Records stateside, and via Sonic Unyon in Canada.
"Infini’s 13 tracks were the last to be written with late guitarist Denis ‘Piggy’ D’Amour. The CD version of Infini will be packaged in a deluxe digi-pack with artwork designed by VOIVOD drummer Away. Images and pre-order options for the CD can be viewed here with details on the double LP pressing forthcoming.
"Infini was built from the final songs created by the band with Piggy. There were many discussions and ideas as to how to complete these recordings of songs that had never been actually performed with the whole band in one room. All of his original demo guitar tracks appear as they were recorded, no re-amping, no overdubs, just Piggy as he played the tracks he envisioned in his small bachelor apartment, the amp in the bathroom, capturing his performance with the laptop given to him by Jason Newsted. At Home In Hell has issued the following update about preparing to start doing live shows again after a long hiatus:
"It was a very INTERESTING winter... We had a few new Ideas, Most worked but some didn't... But all good plans change a little right...?
"We are still looking at a Late June Return...(that will be posted very soon)... And we did manage to get quite a few new songs written during this little break, so that is neat!!!
"The only plan we've had so far, X, that hasn't worked was the new guy idea. The 5th member tryed it for a little while but couldn't juggle it between everything else he has going on, And he took off...But he did leave behind his instrument, so we gave it over to Chris to make good use of...... So that should keep him busy...hehe
"There's so much more I'd like to tell you but I'd rather show you, so you have to wait!!!
"See you all very soon!!"
Canadian black metallers Wolven Ancestry have issued the following update about the recording process for their upcoming album:
"The recording process of our second album is almost completed, and a complete track listing is posted below for you all. We feel we have created something truly epic, a great evolution from where we left you all off with The Wrath of Gaia. Mixing and finalizations will follow as well as album art, working album title, new pics, and show and tour announcements will also be revealed in the next couple of weeks.
"Our new album is a concept album about the history of human life in Canada, and our early inhabitants beliefs. It involves geographical topics including East Coast and West Coast landings and migrations. It also deals with battles and wars that were fought here. Mainly battles that had an impact on social structure and the Europeans attempt to take the land from early civilizations, or first nations."
The track listing for the album will be as follows:
2. Silence of the Boreal
3. An Animistic Awakening
4. Memories of Life Forgotten With Time
5. A Trail of Blood in Snow
6. Hymn of the Fallen
7. March Forth Under Tortured Skies
8. Codex Canadiensis
9. The Bering Descent
Psyopus is currently streaming the song "Duct Tape Smile" from their latest album "Odd Senses" online at their MySpace page. The band also issued the following road report:
"Last night, Fredericksburg,VA took a trip in the Psyopus time machine to visit the ghosts of Psyopus past. Our dear friends and former bandmates Mike Horn and Harrison Christie joined us on stage to reconstruct not one, but two former Psyopus lineups. The ‘Odd Senses’ lineup jamed out ‘Medusa’, seemingly closing out the set. But wait! On comes Harrison to perform ‘Our Puzzling Encounters Considered’ and a pantsless rendition of the Psyopus classic ‘Bones To Dust’. I mean, really, would you have it any other way?
"Meeting up with old friends on the road is always a treat, and sharing the stage with them once again is a great pleasure. A fun night was certainly had by all (except for the kid in front who was accosted by a pantsless giant screaming bloody murder about his cocaine problem). Thanks guys. It was a blast."
Relapse Records has issued the following announcement about Evile and Gama Bomb appearing on a radio show:
"English thrashers Evile and Irish label-mates and fellow thrashers Gama Bomb featured in the notorious BBC Radio 1 Rock Show presented by Daniel P. Carter on Tuesday. The two bands were pitted against each other in a contest of wits called ‘Hammer's Hammer’ (of no relation to Timmy Mallet's ‘Mallet's Mallet’) recorded at the recent Hammerfest festival in Prestatyn, Wales. It was a closely fought contest between Philly Byrne (GAMA BOMB) and Ol Drake(EVILE) which actually took place in a children's playground ball pit.
"Listen back to the show and see who won here. Evile recently entered the studio to record the yet-to-be-titled follow-up album to their 2007 debut, Enter the Grave. The new album is being produced
by Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, DIMMU BORGIR) and is set for release later this year." More...

Scotland's Man Must Die have posted the first preview track, "Kill It, Skin It, Wear It," from their new album "No Tolerance For Imperfection" online via the band's MySpace page. The follow-up to their Relapse debut "The Human Condition," "No Tolerance For Imperfection" will see a summer 2009 release date.
Man Must Die's Danny McNab commented on the new album:
"At last we feel Man Must Die have arrived - on all fronts, this is the album which we always knew we had in us, and we are super happy at the finished article. No Tolerance For Imperfection was recorded with painful precision and effort, we all sweated blood for this CD and cant wait to get this beast out. Every song has its own story and feel, lyrical concepts are as powerful as the music and this album is the first to feature new drummer Matt Holland, who has added some serious spice to the MMD sound. We are super psyched about getting it out and hitting the road to back it up, and cant wait for you all to hear it. Let the blasts commence..."

Well, I think this makes it official. Velvet Revolver is unable to find a new lead singer. What else could possibly explain Slash appearing on the Fox family hour better known as American Idol? More...
