Sweden's Cipher System has announced the addition of guitar player Andreas Allenmark (Anata) to their line-up. The band comments:
"We would like tho start this news with a big 'thank you' to everyone who were interested in this position. A great amount of people from the whole world (at least all continents) has sent in questions and wanted to be a part. Thanks for even caring about our shitty little meaningless band. Now, what we wanted was to have a guy that has been in the game for a while, and has his shit together musically. Also, we wanted him to live close so we can meet up without any problems. [Andreas] fits in this description perfectly, as he has been touring a lot with Anata, recording a couple of albums and lives really close by. We are more than happy to welcome him and his amazing guitar skills to the band."
Just last month, the band announced the addition of Andreas Solveström (Within Y) to their line-up as their new vocalist.

Reunited seminal grindcore/extreme metal outfit BRUTAL TRUTH have announced a string of European dates this summer. Guitarist Danny Lilker commented, "Brutal Truth is totally psyched to play for the grindfreaks in Eastern Europe! We'll be hitting Serbia (at Castlefest) and Slovakia for the very first time so we'll be sure to fire up and give these people the most intense show of their lives! We also can't wait to play the With Full Force Festival over in Germany, where we'll be going onstage extremely late, so don't drink too fast, stay awake for the nocturnal grind attack!"
Drummer Rich Hoak adds, "we'll be including many new songs in the set for our shows this summer. The new songs will freak people out: louder, faster,
heavier and mosh pit tested!" More...
GOREAPHOBIA, who were supposed to hit Canada for a short tour with ESTUARY and LAPIDATE beginning on May 8th in Toronto, Ontario has issued the following statement:
Chris Gamble GOREAPHOBIA's vocalist and bassist comments "An unfortunate incident has come up and Goreaphobia is forced to postpone the Canadian tour. A very serious issue has arose that had made it impossible for us to do the tour. We wish to keep the details private out of respect to the people involved. We are very sorry about this sad crisis that has happened. We all are in full preparations to re-schedule the Canadian tour dates as soon as possible. We thank everyone for their understanding on this unfortunate crisis, and sincere support for these difficult times. We promise to make every full effort to strike Canada with all our blackend death metal hearts! Thank you to everyone out there for your support and understanding of this time in personal need. We salute you all! See you soon."
"Both ESTUARY and LAPIDATE will still be doing the tour so make sure you go to the shows and show your support!" More...
Onheil has been confirmed to play the highly acclaimed open air festival Stonehenge in the Netherlands. Other bands that will be attending are Austrian black/death metallers Belphegor, Italian Thrashers Sadist and German Melodic Death Metallers Burden Of Grief. This will be the only live show Onheil is going to do the coming months. At the Stonehengefestival a recordlabel/concertpromoter-only promo CD will be on sale, especially for the die-hard fans who can't wait for the next album to be recorded later this year. This will be a one-time only sale, which means the promo CD won't be available anywhere else.
The promo CD, called "Razor," features four totally new songs and a re-recorded version of "As Hope Dies," Onheil's 2007 single and videoclip. According to singer/guitarist Amok: "The new material will probably surprise a lot of people as it's quite different from our older stuff. Diversity is what we are aiming for with our next album. The songs are faster, more furious and more agressive than even before. Yet we have mixed this with more melodies and slower parts. Also the fact that we now have 2 lead vocalists and 3 guitarists gives us more possibilities to create something original."
Please feel free to publish this information on your website, in your magazine or in any other media. A pressphoto and the promocd cover can be found on our mediapage( http://www.onheil.nl/media/ ).
You can check out the titletrack of "Razor" on the Onheil MySpace and watch their video for "As Hope Dies" below: More...

Vancouver rockers Pride Tiger -- who were recently nominated for a Juno Award for Rock Album Of The Year for their Caroline Records debut "The Lucky Ones" – will go south of the border for seven more dates in the U.S.
Here are the latest PRIDE TIGER tour dates:
May 30 – Hell's Kitchen - Tacoma, WA (w/ Hell's Belles)
May 31 – The Manette Saloon - Bremerton, WA
June 3 -- Lil’ Red Lion - Eureka, CA
June 4 – The Viper Room - Los Angeles, CA (w/ The Binges, Dead Sara and ABAM)
June 5 -- San Jose, CA @ TBA
June 6 – Eli's Mile High Club - Oakland, CA (w/ Hightower and The Fourfits)
June 7 -- San Francisco, CA @ TBA
Pride Tiger was formed by three former members of the highly respected, still-going-strong metal act 3 Inches of Blood and one member of hardcore band S.T.R.E.E.T.S. Going for an authentic sound in the Thin Lizzy-vein, the result was "The Lucky Ones." Produced, engineered and mixed by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Monster Magnet, Fu Manchu), the record modernizes the glorious 70’s rock style resulting in 13 songs that are powerful, sweaty, hooky, suitably head-banging and one big party. Unsurprisingly an early adopter of Pride Tiger is rock legend Alice Cooper who has been spinning and supporting the band on his nationally syndicated radio show.
Pride Tiger will soon unveil more national and international tour dates in support of "The Lucky Ones."

IN FLAMES bassist Peter Iwers has checked in from the Gigantour 2008 with the following update:
"We are now about four weeks into the tour and we’re still very psyched about all the great feedback we have gotten throughout the tour. Right now we’re all in the bus trying to determine today’s setlist. As you might now we try to flip flop some songs everyday to keep it more interesting for everybody, which is more fun than just sticking to the same one all the time.
Tomorrow is an off show in Omaha and even then it’s hard to decide a list to keep everyone happy, so I guess we’ll have to play for 3 hours :)
Hope to see all of you there. Cheers."
Legion Of The Damned have posted the following update:

Two members of Liferuiner were arrested this weekend in connection with a "rampant graffiti spree" in Toronto, Canada. According to Canadian online news website, Globeandmail.com, Liferuiner singer Danny Surjanac and drummer Shane Tyrer each face 28 counts of mischief under $5,000. You can read Globeandmail's report of the arrests arrests here.
However, Liferuiner currently refers to Surjanac and Tyrer as "fill-in singer" and "former drummer," respectively. Additionally, the group says, "[The arrests] do not affect our upcoming tour in any way, shape or form. We will be playing our first show in poughkeepsie on the 9th @ the Loft, for our CC release tour! All the shows will be happening as planned. Don't believe the papers."
Mindless Self Indulgence (MSI) debuts on Billboard's Top 200 Album Sales Chart at an astonishing #27 with their album "if." Released Tuesday, April 29th on UCR/The End Records, "if" has already spawned amazing chart numbers prior to album release. Still holding steady since its debut six weeks ago, the single "Never Wanted To Dance" remains at the #1 Position on Billboard's Hot Dance Single Sales Chart. No strangers to the dance charts, singles from their last full length, "Straight to Video" and "Shut Me Up," have both hit #1 and remained in the Top Ten for over a year each.

For the last month, MSI have remained the Number One Band on MySpace Music in all territories, and in all genres they are competing for. It should be noted, MSI is the ONLY band to remain on the Top Ten Artist Chart consecutively since the inception of MySpace Music. In addition to MySpace, the band has recently had Top 5 rankings on YouTube as well as a smorgasbord of other social networking sites.
The band is currently at the start of its national Spring/Summer tour and will be playing Fort Lauderdale's Revolution tonight with dates leading them back to a massive hometown show in NYC on June 27th. The Birthday Massacre, Combichrist, London After Midnight, Hollowboy, Tub Ring, Fake Shark Real Zombie, and A Kiss Could Be Deadly are support in select cities.

Philadelphia hardcore band Kingdom has announced the impending departure of drummer, Ben. The group explains:
"We have some sad news. Ben, our drummer and friend, is leaving Kingdom. There is no bad blood between us, but after almost 2 years of doing not much other than Kingdom, he's ready for something else. He will be with us in Europe and on our dates with Lewd Acts right when we get back to the states, so if you've ever wanted to bake him a cake and bring it to him, this is your last chance.
"And despite how totally bummed we are, we will be continuing without him... which means that we are looking for a new drummer! If you are interested, able to tour most of the year, have experience playing and touring, are in or want to be in Philly, and are vegan straight edge, hit us up!"
ATAKLYSM's video for the track "Taking The World By Storm" has premiered exclusively on MySpace Metal (also embedded below).
The clip was shot and directed by David Brodsky (www.mgenyc.com) and comes off the group's upcoming album, Prevail, which is set to be released on May 23 (Europe) and May 27 (North America).
KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono states:
“It was a true pleasure to work with David on this video, his level of professionalism is outstanding and his vision is great. We had fun filming this video although we froze our fucking balls off for 12 hours! David really captured the energy and apocalyptic feel of the track and the song is definitely one of my favorites on the album. Enjoy!"
Director David Brodsky had this to say:
“Working with KATAKLYSM was an awesome experience… really, what am I going to say besides that? I mean… they’re fucking KATAKLYSM!
"But truly, in the middle of the biggest blizzard of 2008 in NY/NJ, KATAKLYSM showed up eager to the location in the ass-end of seedy Newark, NJ and truly nailed it. Twelve grueling hours in a cold, nasty, wreck of a building and not one complaint, only true professionalism. Some of the shit they did had me cheering.
"KATAKLYSM is an awesome force to behold – they are the performer’s band. They perform with an indefinable swagger and verve. They are all natural showmen… and to be able to spend some time capturing them was a great honor and a great pleasure...besides all that, I can’t get that fucking chorus out of my head!” More...

The remaining members of STRATOVARIUS have posted this joint statement on their MySpace page:
"Timo Tolkki published a statement on April 2 this year. The other members of STRATOVARIUS would now like to set the record straight. You can't argue with someone's perception of things, you can just explain how you see things differently.
The confrontations, fights, incompetence, tensions, negativity, bitterness, hostility, disinterest, bad musicianship, and unfriendliness that Timo described were never there. He constructed this alternate reality around these simple and for him painful facts:
1) The band's momentum has been slowing since 2004.
2) The media chaos of 2004 made him lose a lot of trust and respect both within and outside the band.
3) STRATOVARIUS' label Sanctuary had severe financial problems from 2005 on. It forced us to start a legal process at the beginning of 2007. More...
GOD FORBID have posted this message on their MySpace page:
"Here is the first look at the cover for GOD FORBID's upcoming DVD 'Beneath The Scars Of Glory And Progression'. The design may look familiar to some of you. It was the tour poster artwork for the 'Chains Of Humanity' Tour. We liked it so much, that we thought it would be a fitting cover for the DVD considering that was the tour we filmed the concert. Also, we just posted two live audio tracks (on MySpace) from the concert for your listening pleasure. Enjoy Eric Rachel's stunning recording and mix!"
