Greek black metal act Aenaon has inked a deal with Code666, a sublabel of Aural Music, for the release of the group's debut album, "Cendres et Sang." The effort was mastered by Tom Kvalsvoll at Strype Audio (Emperor, Dhg, 1349) and is tentatively due out in June 2011.
Commented frontman Astrous: "We were looking for a deal for this album following our split with Bleak Art records, and code666 stepped up and laid out exactly what we wanted. We could not be happier. Code666 is an established label, home to many impressive and qualitive acts, specialized in the avant-garde black metal field, discovering bands such as Ephel Duath, Aborym, Negura Bunget, Diabolicum, Fen, Amesoeurs, The Axis Of Perdition… code666 are in the fray to provide us with the support we need to release our album in the best way. Regarding our album, expect an essential music journey that crosses the black metal feeling with the experimental needs of free thinking musicians. Lyrical themes that are reflecting the humanity as a whole and explores the labyrinth of psychotic disorders, the forms of life and death...."
"Cendres et Sang" (meaning "Ashes and Blood") was recorded between April of 2010 and February of 2011 and took place in more than 5 studios, while the mastering of the album was done by Tom Kvalsvoll at Strype Audio in Norway.

4. Grand Narcotic Harvest (feat. V'gandr of Helheim)
5. Once Finite
6. Carnivora's Lair
9. Black Nerve
10. In Heaven (cover from David Lynch's movie Eraserhead)
British thrashers Evile have officially revealed that their forthcoming new album will be titled "Five Serpent's Teeth." Evile recorded the new album at Parlour Studios in Kettering, UK, with producer Russ Russel, who also recorded the band's previous release, 2009's "Infected Nations." Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matt Drake has recorded a video message for the fans, in which he discusses the new album and the concept behind it.
Evile lead guitarist Ol Drake comments on the album:
"The other day, Russ sent the final masters for the album over. It sounded even better than I expected it to. The past two years of hard work, and the work put in in the studio, have really paid off. The few people who've heard the album so far have praised it highly, making me, and us, very proud. The album has such a unique production sound which surprised me; Russ' skills have really shined on this record. It has an old classic sound, while staying huge and menacing. Keep an eye out for all things Evile, as 2011 will be a very busy year for us. See you on A road!"
"Five Serpent's Teeth" is due to be released on Earache Records on August 29th, 2011.

For us it's like a brand new start. We surely can improve our work, touring much more and finally reaching every continent as we always wanted to do. Many tours are already planned or on the way to being organized. We'll start with North America and Europe and then Asia/Oceania, South Africa and maybe in Central/South America. We can't wait to hit US again this July-August with the ‘Summer Slaughter Tour’ 2011. It's an honor for us to be on this tour and a great opportunity to play live some new tunes! Pro-Pain's guitarist Tom Klimchuck has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band:
"Although thoroughly saddened by the realization that my time in Pro-Pain is at its end, I look back with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. The band has been an absolute blessing to me.
"It has provided a platform with which to fight the good fight, and bring inspiration through commonality to people all around the world. All the while offering countless, magical experiences that most can only dream of.
"I owe a massive 'Thank you!' to Gary, Marshall, Ricky, and Adam, as well as all previous members, and crew past and present; my brothers. It has been a privilege sharing the stage, and sharing so many incredible times with you all. These are the fabric of our souls, and you are all irreversibly woven into mine.
"A very special 'Thank you.' goes out to all the Pro-Pain fans. It is a powerful thing to watch a large group of people, seemingly strangers to one another, find common ground, and even inspiration in something I have put my heart and soul into. This is the show you have given me as I've looked out from the stage to all of you, and the gift you have given me that I will have forever. I am eternally grateful."

This past March, Brooklyn-based sludge ensemble Hull completed a two-week tour with post-doom troupe Batillus. The journey included a near shut downs due to "the aural strain" the band reportedly levied upon one unsuspecting neighborhood, running from cops, good food, guns, ATVs, some chest-caving appearances at this year's SXSW and much more.
Reads a snippet from the band's well-documented adventure: "I noticed one of the cops was coming after me. Although my first instinct was to protect the cavalry, my next instinct was to run from the possibility of going to jail and ruining our SXSW. "We want to do our best to make sure those who want to can come see us for the last time. We never thought that this band would get as far as it did. We never thought we’d have the chance to travel so much and tour with some of our favorite bands and make such amazing friends from all over the world. We are more thankful than you’ll ever know."

Will Haven has posted the following update online about shooting a new music video:
"Video shoot is complete for the song 'Held to Answer.' We shot it in the lovely town of Santa Cruz, CA. Big thank you to Brad Oates and wreckreation, Melody Carlson for her acting skills, Harvey West Cemetary, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Home Depot and Funnel Cakes. The video is being edited now and should see the light of day very soon.
"In other news, as of right now we are looking at a late summer/fall release for this record. Album title, song titles and artwork will be released very shortly. As we speak we are putting together a show in London and Paris to coincide with the release of the record. Other cities will be announced soon as well.
"Chris [Fehn] will be back with his brothers in Slipknot starting next month for their summer tour, so in the meantime we are currently working on another record, so there should be alot of new will haven music within the next year.
"Thank you everyone for the support and cant wait for everyone to hear the record. Now that we have stuff to talk about, we will be posting quite often, keep checking back. Peace."

This is the story of why I left a metal show early for the first time in my life.
While I’m not a serial show-goer, I have easily been to dozens, if not over a hundred, metal shows since my metal-loving life got going back in the mid-1990s, and I have always had a rule that I followed more closely than the ins and outs of “Debbie Does Dallas” – don’t leave early. Even if I was tired, drunk, pissed or the band(s) sucked, I stayed until the house lights came on and the roadies started taking the drum kit apart. Well, tonight, I broke that rule. Why?
