Finnish black metallers Mormânt De Snagov revealed the cover artwork and tracklist for their upcoming full-length album, "Derisive Philosophy." Marking the band's second opus, the album is made up of seven aggressive and haunting black metal tracks adorned by melodious darkness and freezing cold atmospheres, and is set to be released on Pest Records this Summer. Check out the tracklisting and cover art below.
Mormânt De Snagov was founded in 2008 by Domnul Cadavru in Southwest Finland. The aim of the band was to create stripped-down black metal. Also, as the name of the band suggests, Domnul Cadavru is fascinated by the Southeast European legends; some of the lyrics dealing with such concepts as immortality and the resurrection of evil. After a short search for a distributor/publisher Mormânt De Snagov signed a deal with a record label hailing from the midst of Central Finland, Wintersunset Records. “Rise From The Void” was released via that label in February 2010.

Following a U.S. journey with A Life Once Lost earlier this Spring, Author & Punisher will ship his machinery overseas for a short run of European live dates.
Scheduled to commence on May 4th, Author & Punisher will ravage his way through the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Belgium and Slovenia before bringing the proceedings to a ceremonial close in Czech Republic. Notes Pitchfork of the project's live experience: “…seeing Shone play his music is a much different experience: He renders these songs using massive devices he builds himself to control an onstage laptop. A bit like a cyborg, Shone grapples with and writhes among his machines, making music that’s not necessarily alien with tools that are.”

Hells Headbangers has announced June 21st as the international release date for Insanity's "Death After Death" vinyl reissue. The following press release was issued about the album:
"Hailing from California, Insanity's roots stretch back to the mid '80s, when death metal was just beginning to get a toehold in the underground. While the band would hone their twistedly memorable/memorably twisted craft across a clutch of demos during that decade, it wasn't until 1994 when Insanity would release their debut album, Death After Death. By then, black metal was taking over the underground and death metal was on a slow, steady decline, but Insanity stuck to their guns and produced an alternately crazy/catchy slab of old-school Death Metal that somehow maintained a forward-thinking outlook. With solos flying out of control yet retaining a dark melodicism, and riff/battery doing much the same - serpentine, obtuse structures retaining a memorable flow - had Death After Death been released five years earlier as originally intended, INSANITY would be held in the same reverence as Death, Atheist, and Morbid Angel were in the late '80s. Now, Hells Headbangers unleashes Death After Death on gatefold vinyl and with new, sick artwork by Drew Eliot - resurrection never sounded so deathly!"
The track listing is:
1) Attack of Archangels
2) Fire Death Fate
3) In Memory
4) Rotting Decay
5) Morbid Lust
6) Blood for Blood
8) Death After Death More...

Ripple Music has set May 14th as the date on which Ape Machine's "Mangled by the Machine" will be made available to the masses (one day earlier in the UK). The following press release was issued about the new offering:
"A conceptual album that mixes animal aggression and technical precision, Ape machine's Mangled by the Machine carries an organic depth and warmth rarely heard since the time of rock's glorious early years, and infused with an exceptional modern sensibility. When the pissed-off, protest-minded lyrics lock in with the band's stone-cold groove, Ape Machine demonstrates an earth-shaking ability to rock. A true four-piece, the group has been called real heavy-psych for the iPhone generation that delivers true guts and glory rock and roll. Mangled by the Machine will be available as CD, digital, and vinyl releases. For Fans of: Quicksand, Led Zeppelin, The Sword, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Jethro Tull, and The Rival Sons."
