DEBRIS INC., the new group featuring SAINT VITUS mainman Dave Chandler and ex-TROUBLE bassist Ron Holzner, have been forced to postponed their previously announced East Coast tour dates between Lansing, MI (May 22) and Emissions in Youngstown, OH (May 29). "We hope that gas prices go down and that our U.S. label, Candelight, gives us a little support next time," the band write on their web site. "See ya in the fall."
DEBRIS INC.'s self-titled debut was released last month via Candlelight.
Already extremely active, DEBRIS INC. have toured the U.S. with labelmates ORANGE GOBLIN, have made appearances at Templars of Doom, Emissions of the Monolith and Milwaukee Metal festivals (with European sightings at the prestigious Wacken Open Air Festival). Finnish goth-metallers H.I.M. have reportedly tapped Andy Wallace (KORN, LINKIN PARK, LIMP BIZKIT, SLAYER) to mix their brand-new album, tentatively due in the fall via Sire. The mixing sessions will take place in New York City beginning this week.
As previously reported, H.I.M. recorded the follow-up to 2003's "Love Metal" at Los Angeles' Paramour studios According to singer Ville Valo, the upcoming CD, which is being produced by Tim Palmer (who worked on the band's last album), will feature "really fast songs but with a melodic punky MISFITS feel to them."
H.I.M.'s forthcoming album will be preceded by a single release in August. Ville Valo and his cohorts have also lined up a handful of European and Japanese festival appearances during the summer.
H.I.M. and HMC (Helsinki Music Company) have reached an agreement to have all future H.I.M. albums released in Finland via the band's own Heartagram label. HMC is reportedly owned by Niko Nordström (former General Manager of BMG Finland) and Asko Kallonen (former A&R exec at BMG Finland). Kallonen has worked with H.I.M. since their first EP, "666 Ways to Love: Prologue".
H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo is expected to sing backing vocals on one or two songs on the forthcoming BLOODHOUND GANG album. No further information is currently available.

Former HADES drummer Ron Lipnicki will be joining OVERKILL on their upcoming European tour, which kicks off this Friday (May) in Vosselaar, Belgium. It is presently unclear if Lipnicki will be joining the band as the permanent replacement for Tim Mallare, who originally came into the group prior to the recording of 1993's "I Hear Black".
OVERKILL are continuing to tour in support of their "ReliXIV" album, available now on Eagle Rock/Spitfire Records.
The word is that Children of Bodom's huge world tour for "Are You Head Yet?" will start next Autumn in Japan. From Japan, the Hate Crew will proceed for the first time ever to Australia. After that, they'll apparently return to Europe. There are plans for a North American tour in 2006.
The band is currently in the studio working on their upcoming album entitled "Are You Dead Yet?" which will be released worldwide via Universal/Spinefarm on September 19th.
In other news, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is interested in having Children of Bodom on his Gigantour, which will take place in the USA at the end of August.
Aven Aura, a yet unsigned Canada-based metal band featuring former The Crown drummer Janne Saarenpää, have uploaded three brand-new sound samples taken from their upcoming full-length debut, "The Shadow of Idols." The samples are available at this location.
Janne recorded the drums for "The Shadow of Idols" last summer at Spectre Sound Studio in Canada. The recording continued with Steve laying down the guitar tracks and session bassist Connor Sharpe recording the bass in the fall of 2004. Chris recorded vocals in December and around the same time the long arduous search for a session keyboardist came to an end when Roxanne Constantin of Quo Vadis contacted Aven Aura. She recorded the keyboards in February 2005.
Aven Aura are currently in search for a bass player and a keyboard player. If you are interested and serious about joining the band, send an e-mail to email@example.com.
For more information on Aven Aura, visit the official website.
Sweden's Opeth has posted the following message on their official website:
Per Wiberg has now officially joined Opeth as a permanent member of the band. As most of you know he's been touring with Opeth since their "Damnation" record. Spiritual beggars fans should not despair as he will continue playing and recording with them.
The band is currently hard at work in Fascination street studios. 9 titles have been recorded and at this moment Hammond organs and Mellotrons are being put down to tape. The recording is being supervised and engineered by Jens Bogren and produced by the band. Some song titles have been confirmed and will be posted here soon.
Several North American journalists will visit the studio in mid May for interviews and exclusive listening sessions.
We will soon confirm a handful of Scandinavian and European dates. The band will do a smaller trek round the key cities in Europe in September. This will be the first tour in support of the new album which is supposed to be released in late August/early September. More tour dates to come....
Have you forgotten...sorry for taking so much time...but:
We will soon confirm the winner of the drawing contest too. There have been hundreds of pictures sent in and we thank you for these. The winner will get the task of drawing the band picture for the next Opeth Cd.
Record label??? Opeth have decided which label to sign to and the contracts are being done as you read. We will announce it here shortly!
German thrashers Dew-Scented have posted the following message on their website:
Things are moving along quickly in the Dew-Scented camp for the release of "Issue VI," so let us give you some brief update:
We just returned from some shows with our Swedish friends and Death Metal originators Grave and those were a blast! Thanks to everybody who came out!
We also just finished shooting the first Dew-Scented video clip ever. We went for the new track 'Turn To Ash' and spent two intense days in Leipzig recording. A first raw version of the clip already looked really promising. Can't wait to get the final version!
As already announced: Nuclear Blast Records will be putting the new album out by June 20th in Europe and we are almost done with all details for an exclusive bonus DVD that will come along with the first pressing of the album. It will include the video clip as well as 17 (!) live-tracks recorded at diverse cool shows in Paris (La Locomotive), Strasbourg (La Laiterie), Ludwigsburg (Rockfabrik), Summer Breeze Festival as well as Wacken Festival throughout the last years but it also includes parts of a brand new show we captured last weekend in Ludwigshafen (Das Haus) at the "Metal Meeting XVII" festival in front of some 700 people. Pretty heavy stuff indeed!
We are currently of course also working on securing a good European tour around autumn, but nothing is fully decided yet. Right now, we will head out to the US to play at the Minneapolis Mayhem festival next weekend with Sadus, Usurper and many other bands but we can already promise you that we will be coming back for a full North American tour in November. More details about that soon...

Exclusive photos from Anthrax's rehearsal sessions for their upcoming "reunion" tour have been posted online at RandallAmplifiers.com.
In a recent interview with Australia's The Metal Forge, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello spoke about his decision to leave the group last year and his eventual return in time for the reunion tour.
"For both of us, it wasn't a healthy situation. We just had differences of opinions, honestly, and just needed to separate for a while. That's as honest as I can be with that. We just needed space to tell you truth and that's really what happened with it. Well, we both needed to make a change. It was a mutual agreement. We just needed to separate for a while. It was smart to do that."
Asked if his departure was caused by the usual musical differences and personality issues, Bello said, "A little of both. Personality. Musical. Stuff like that. It was mostly business. I hate the business of music. I love music but I hate the business. It takes the life out of it — too much business. You have to play the game but when it gets to be too much, it's not good.
"I went to go jam with Helmet for a while and that was great. I did that and then I got a call about this reunion thing and it felt right. It was as easy as that. I believe that when my gut tells me to do something, I go with it, and that's what it was telling me. So it's the right thing to do at the right time."

A devoted follower of a Scandinavian band notorious for its heavy metal anti-Christian music burnt down a majestic Moonee Ponds church in a multimillion-dollar arson attack.
Novak Majstorovic had drunken visions of the 107-year-old Ascot Vale Uniting Church being responsible for society's problems with law, ethics and morality.
Majstorovic, 19, admitted his passion for the band Burzum, whose lead singer was allegedly involved in burning down numerous Norwegian churches in the 1990s, helped create a heavy metal ideological imagery based on good and evil.
"It can be explained through any real meanings, you know, but using God and Satan is just like a... it's an image," he told police after his arrest.
Victorian arson squad detectives treated Majstorovic as a suspect after investigations revealed his interest in Burzum and "black metal" music and culture.
Police learnt the band's lead singer Varg Vikernes, now in jail for murder, was commonly referred to as a Satanist, but was regarded more as deeply anti-Christian and anti-Semitic.
Majstorovic yesterday appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to plead guilty to arson and burglary from the fire in Maribyrnong Road, Moonee Ponds, on August 29, 2004.
In a summary tendered to the court, the church, widely used by its local community, was described as majestic and ornate. Its irreplaceable pipe organ and historic records were destroyed in the fire.
Majstorovic, who had drunk half a bottle of bourbon, had earlier left a party, telling guests he was going to burn the church. After entering, he lit Bibles, scrap paper, books and flags near the pulpit and left.
Asked days later by Detective Sergeant Andrew Kerr if he considered the elderly who had cried over the church or what it had stood for, Majstorovic replied: "It was what it stood for, but it's... it's just an object, you know. It's just a building. Faith lies with the individual."
Pressed by Sergeant Kerr about it being sacred and a "heart and soul of things", he said that the church "doesn't like people to cling to any sort of idols here on earth".
Majstorovic said that because he was drunk and near a church he thought he would act on an ideological belief the church was responsible for society's problems.
"A lot of the concepts of my ideologies and stuff would, sort of, stem from heavy metal, from the imagery of heavy metal, from the metaphors that heavy metal uses with the, like, Christian sort of metaphors of good and evil and such," he said.
Magistrate Lisa Hannan bailed Majstorovic, of Hoppers Crossing, to appear in the County Court on August 23.
Fear Factory have set "Transgression" as the title of their next studio album, tentatively due August 23 via Trillion Records. Trillion is the new imprint from Liquid 8 Records And Entertainment founder and CEO, Mike Cattain, who has created Trillion as a home for Fear Factory and new bands seeking a creative haven grounded in growth.
Fear Factory will enter Track Record Studios in North Hollywood, California on May 5 with producer Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn, Soulfly) to begin recording the follow-up to last year's "Archetype". "We are all very, very excited about the collaboration with Toby," says singer Burton C. Bell. In addition to Toby Wright, there will be a list of guest musicians collaborating on "Transgression", including bass player Billy Gould of Faith No More fame. Burton explains, "Billy brings a different vibe to the music the way his bass lines move around the beat and drive the songs with a unique element." Billy will contribute to two songs: "Echo Of My Scream" and "Super Nova". Other working titles for "Transgression" include "New Promise" (co-written with Mark Morton of Lamb Of God), "Empire", "540,000 Degrees Fahrenheit" and the projected title track.
"It's really cool to be writing a new record," says Burton. "We are all feeling very positive and it's moving quickly since we have overcome some major obstacles. Now we can work on a fucking great album. 2005 is the year of 'Transgression' for Fear Factory!"
You can get a preview of what's to come on "Transgression" when you play the new game "Rainbow Six Lockdown", which features a track from "Transgression" entitled "Lockdown", as well as scores created by Fear Factory throughout the menus. Apart from contributing music to "Rainbow Six Lockdown", drummer Raymond Herrera's production company, 3volution Productions, has produced the soundtrack to the Tom Clancy "Rainbow Six Lockdown" game, which will include Fear Factory tracks and many other songs from various bands, to be released on Calvin/Trillion Records on August 3.
American Head Charge have been confirmed to play this year’s Download Festival on the Snickers Stage on Saturday June 11. It will be the band’s first Uk performance since the tragic death of guitarist Bryan Ottoson on April 19.

The band are currently completing the remaining dates on their US tour with Mudvayne and have recruited Black Flood Diesel’s Benji Helberg to fill in on temporary guitar duties. Helberg previously played in the AHC side-project F.O.R., but it’s not yet known whether he’ll be appearing with the band at Download.

It’s that time of year again- birds are chirping, trees are blossoming, the city’s Crowne Plaza Hotel is bombarded with numerous metal parties. And, of course, the local businesses in Worcester, MA hand out flyers that read “Dear metalheads (!!!), if you’re wondering where to get drunk tonight, come to our pub”.
It’s the New England Metal Fest weekend, which was held on April 22-24 and welcomed fans from all corners of the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and even UK. Probably the biggest and best festival on this side of the Atlantic. At least this year’s. I was giddy with excitement about this event since January and I lived to share my observations and opinions. More...
