Behemoth, who has been holed up in Hertz Studios working on a tenth full-length album, is pleased to announce the title of the band's forthcoming full-length album "The Satanist." The album, which follows previous full-length "Evangelion" (reviewed here), will come out in the fall of 2013 - stay tuned for more studio updates, music, pre-order info and more.
Front man Nergal comments: "It took us over two decades to come up with a title that…says it all. While our new songs artistically take surprisingly adventurous directions, our message stands steadfast—Proud and Radical. The Satanist stands for undying yearning for liberation and love for freedom in all aspects of life. Considering all our life experiences that often took dramatic curves I couldn't think of more appropriate and fitting statement of who and where we are now."
As the band continues to record, Behemoth has been posting images and lyrics for portions of new songs at Facebook. Fans can also read an in-depth interview with Nergal in the June/July issue of Revolver.
In keeping with the tradition of past GWAR-B-Q's, Slave Pit Inc. today released their latest commercial hyping what will certainly go down in history as the greatest GWAR-B-Q yet, presented once again by the Slave Pit and sponsored by Ring Dog Rescue.

After the death of Jeff Hanneman, Slayer announced the band would continue touring Europe this Summer. The band has now checked in with the following announcement about recruiting Paul Bostaph as a new full-time member:
"Slayer's Tom Araya and Kerry King are very pleased to announce that Paul Bostaph has rejoined the band on a full-time basis. Bostaph will be behind the drum kit beginning June 4 when Slayer kicks off the first leg of its 2013 international tour in Warsaw, Poland. Gary Holt will continue to fill in for fallen guitarist Jeff Hanneman.
"Slayer's 2013 itinerary will have them playing 35 dates that will include headline shows as well as a number of major summer festivals in Europe, Eastern Europe and South America between June and October.
"Bostaph was Slayer's drummer from 1992 until 2001 and recorded four albums with the band - the Gold certified Divine Intervention (1994), the 1996 punk covers album Undisputed Attitude, Diabolus in Musica, (1998), God Hates us All (2001) that received a Grammy nomination for "Best Metal Performance," as well as the DVD War at the Warfield (2001), also certified Gold. In addition to Slayer, Bostaph has been a member of Forbidden, Exodus, Systematic and Testament."
"Paul's a great drummer and a good friend, and we're very happy that he's decided to rejoin the band," said Tom Araya. "We're still pretty numb from the loss of Jeff, but we don't want to disappoint our European fans, and we need to begin moving forward...having Paul back in the band makes that a whole lot easier."
"I'm very excited to be rejoining Slayer," added Bostaph. "We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home."

For info on the fest, including the full line-up, visit this location.
Chris Barnes discusses the lineup change: "I'm proud to announce a new addition to the ranks of Six Feet Under. Replacing drummer Kevin Talley is our new friend and cohort, Marco Pitruzzella. Marco has worked with Jeff Hughell in their former band, Brain Drill, and is such an amazing talented and great guy. I'm very excited having him in the band and can't wait to take the stage with Marco this Saturday in Memphis for Scion Rock Fest!
"It was good working with Kevin Talley for the past couple of years, but we are very ready and extremely focused on moving the band forward with a new, more stable and permanent lineup for writing as well as touring. Be prepared to be shredded! See you all soon!"

Crawling from a filthy hole in the sprawling wilderness surrounding Oslo, this week the deviants in Haust drop another heap of mangled, blackened punk rock from third LP "NO."

West Coast metal deviants Armed For Apocalypse are pleased to announce the release of their sophomore full-length later this Summer. Titled "The Road Will End," the follow-up to 2009’s "Defeat" debut was recorded with Chris Keene at Cutters Cathedral in Chico, California. All drums were tracked with Matt Pedri at Old Sailor Studios (also in Chico).
Elaborates lead guitarist Cayle Hunter: “The Road Will End is the best group of songs any of us has ever been associated with. We put this album through an extremely strong filter and put every single riff under the microscope. We kept challenging each other to not just write a riff, but to write thee riff. If it didn't force us make that ‘oooh’ face and bang our heads in the practice spot, it got cut. We wanted to make an album that was stacked with heaters from beginning to end - no filler tracks - and we feel we've accomplished that. We hope it gets the stamp of approval from our fellow metal heads around the world!”
Adds vocalist/guitarist Kirk Williams: "We are incredibly pumped on this record. It's been a long time in the making and has turned out to be exactly what we wanted: A one hundred percent accurate and sincere representation of us as musicians and people. In many ways I feel like it's the first real Armed For Apocalypse record. It practically wrote itself, like we collectively vomited this heavy, disgusting thing that was growing in our guts for years."
"The Road Will End" will be released via Ironclad Recordings on July 23rd, 2013. The track listing is as follows:
1. The Starting Line Is A Trip Wire
2. Better Worlds
3. The Well

Huntress will be following last year's "Spell Eater" (reviewed here) with "Starbound Beast," to be released on July 2nd during the band's run with the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. The band has now issued the following press release about launching a crowd funding campaign to help pay for the trek:
"Huntress is about to embark on the biggest tour opportunity of their new career, as well as the most demanding and expensive. Huntress has teamed up with fellow Mayhem brothers Battlecross to share the cost for a bus this summer, since their tour vans can't handle the extreme heat. And that is only the beginning of the financial strain for a young metal band with minimal tour support.
"Huntress has started an indiegogo (Virtual Yard Sale) campaign to ensure their participation in the festival. Check out their indiegogo page here, featuring enticing packages and unique collector items. Some of the perks offered are signed CD DigiPaks and Vinyl of their upcoming album Starbound Beast, and packages that feature tickets to Mayhem Festival plus hang outs with the band. Water balloon fights, parking lot BBQs and Astrological readings with Jill Janus are also offered up for sacrifice. Some of the most exclusive perks include the sword prop and red cloak from the 'Eight of Swords' video, and Blake's 1979 Custom GMC Vandura. More items and unique opportunities will be added as well."
In more Huntress related Mayhem news, vocalist Jill Janus will host the first ever Shred-Meister guitar competition. Festival attendees can go to the Jägermeister tents on site and audition for a chance to shred for 10 seconds on the main stage. Each day, one of the 10 finalists will win a custom Jägermeister guitar from Schecter and the overall winner at the end of the tour will win a custom Jägermeister full stack and head courtesy of Peavey Electronics. "On this debut, 'The Healing Powers of Hate', the band keeps with tradition and bring back a true dry metal sound, upfront loud guitars, drums in your face and a singer that can be distinguished from the rest to deliver an experience where the broken shall rise.
"Through the sounds of beating skins, metal strings and broken chords, BornBroken plays out not only what life gives them but also what they want to give back: truth, integrity, perseverance, loyalty and faith in humanity’s struggle for equality.
"After months of writing and hours spent in the studio, BornBroken managed to take every emotion they felt, put it to music, build off of past battle scars and create a record where listeners will feel they are part of the storyline. Finnish death metallers Necropsy (not to be confused with the Baltimore band which recently changed its name to Noisem) have inked a deal with Xtreem Music for the release of their brand new 4-song mini CD "Psychopath Next Door," and their upcoming 2nd full length album in 2014. Xtreem Music comments:
"Formed back in 1987, the band released numerous demos and EP's until 1993 when they disbanded to later reform in 2011. Among these early recordings, the band did a split LP with Demigod and they're having all these demos, split and EP's re-issued on a 3-CD/4-LP set through Century Media under the title of 'Tomb of the Forgotten' out in June 2013. After releasing their debut full length in 2011, the band started long negotiations with Xtreem Music resulting on a deal that will see their new work widely spread, putting back the band's name on the underground Death Metal map in hopes to get the recognition they always deserved.
"'Psychopath Next Door' delivers 4 songs of heavy and catchy classic Death Metal with their usual Finnish touch. Release date for this EP is still not decided though it should happen during summer 2013. For now you you can actually listen to an advance song below." More...

Two weeks ago August Burns Red let the world in on a first taste of the band's fifth full-length album, "Rescue & Restore," via a lyric video for scorching track “Fault Line.”
Today, August Burns Red is releasing the new track “Spirit Breaker.” In addition, ABR is also unveiling a free digital sampler of some of the band’s favorite tracks from previous releases. While “Spirit Breaker” is available to stream for everyone, only fans who sign up for the band’s mailing list will receive the sampler. Listen to "Spirit Breaker" and download the sampler over here.
"When picking songs to preview the album we wanted to share a variety of different songs as this album is pretty diverse,” explains guitarist JB Brubaker. “‘Spirit Breaker’ is one of the more melodic songs on Rescue & Restore and features one of my favorite clean sections on the album. It's not as heavy as the majority of the album but we feel like it still hits hard and has the potential to be a great live song."
“Rescue & Restore is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz,” explains Brubaker. “We’ve done our best with each new album to try to push our sound in new directions and we’d like to see our peers do the same. People need to realize that there’s not much of a difference between a metalcore song that has a couple breakdowns with a repeating chorus and the latest Lady Gaga song. This genre used to be better than that. It can still be better than that.”
German based modern metal act DuskMachine is streaming the new track "I Feel No Pain" (heard in the player below). The song appears on the forthcoming second LP "DuskMachine," which is due out July 26th via Massacre Records.
