Norwegian death metallers BLOOD RED THRONE have set "Come Death" as the title of their new album, due later in the year via Earache Records. The CD was recorded at Dub Studios in Norway and was mixed by Valle Adzic.
Mastering duties were handled by Dragan T. According to a press release, the album contains nine songs of BLOOD RED THRONE's unique blend of groovy, aggressive and technical death metal. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Come Death", "Taste of God", "Rebirth in Blood", "Slaying the Lamb" and "Deranged Assassin".
BLOOD RED THRONE's fourth studio album will be the group's first to feature new members Anders Haave (drums) and Vald (vocals).
"This time, we aim for a more classic death metal sound, ala GORGUTS 'Considered Dead' / SUFFOCATION 'Despise the Sun' kind of sound," the ban previously said. "We have grown tired with the over-produced and fully triggered drum kits that so many bands use today, besides we have taken slightly new direction with our music and the analog and dynamic sound fits the music better. We have also chosen a different approach to the recording process of the instruments."
BLOOD RED THRONE is in the process of booking gigs in support of the upcoming album, with three festival appearances already confirmed. More information will be made available soon.

According to the group, "We aren't going to be completely inactive this summer either, we will be playing Robot Mosh Fest on June 29th with a ton of great bands so if you can make it out please do. Also, we are going to try to set up a local show near our home town and possibly a make-up Memphis, TN show since we missed it on our headlining tour."
THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD has returned from the band’s first trip to Europe, touring with Ion Dissonance and Dead To Fall earlier this month. “The shows have been awesome and we've made a lot of friends over here in Europe,” guitarist Justin Longshore said prior to the band’s last European show. “It's been a blast, but I can definitely say everyone is ready to go back home, have a few days off, and then go right back out for the Red Chord tour. Plus, we really miss shitty U.S. fast food joints.”
Now gearing up for a direct touring slot alongside The Red Chord, and also featuring Despised Icon, All Shall Perish and See You Next Tuesday, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD is already hard at work supporting the band’s forthcoming album, ‘Malice,’ due out August 21 through Prosthetic Records. An mp3 of one of the record’s new tracks will be unveiled on Friday, June 1 via the band’s MySpace player and Prosthetic Records.com, while the band will be debuting new material on the road in anticipation of the release of ‘Malice.’
The follow-up to THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD’s 2005 release ‘Bloodlust,’ ‘Malice’ was recorded with producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Vital Remains, Goatwhore) earlier this spring at Rutan’s Mana Studios in Florida. The record will also mark the debut of new vocalist Nate Johnson (ex-Premonitions of War, ex-Deadwater Drowning).

Corpulate has signed to Comatose Music. Their debut CD "Boundless Expansion" is scheduled for release on June 19th. A post on the label's MySpace page reads: "I would describe Corpulate as a cross between Cephalic Carnage and Origin. Very brutal and grinding death metal with insane song structures that makes it very interesting and entertaining, it will certainly maintain your attention."
TESLA will launch a summer U.S. headlining tour starting June 7 in Santa Rosa, CA at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in support of their REAL TO REEL album, which is due out June 5 on the band's Tesla Electric Company Recordings (Ryko Distribution). This marks the 20th consecutive year that TESLA has toured the States.
Before the tour officially kicks off, TESLA will make a special hometown appearance at Cesar Chavez Park in Sacramento, CA on May 31 at 7:00pm PT in front an expected crowd of 8,000. Not only will the show, sponsored by KXRQ-FM (98 Rock) and the Hard Rock Café, be FREE, but everyone in attendance will get a special pre-release sneak peek at REAL TO REEL. The one-hour performance will exclusively spotlight songs from "Reel 1" of the two-disc set, which will be sold that day at the new R5 store founded by Russ Solomon, the man behind the now defunct Tower Records chain. Immediately following the concert, the Hard Rock Café will sponsor a listening party with the band who'll be autographing copies of the album which will be available for sale at the event by R5.
The first 13 tracks REAL TO REEL—"Reel 1"--will be available on June 5 at retail outlets, while the second disc—"Reel 2"--containing the remaining 12 songs will be available along the band's tour route with the purchase of a concert ticket. An empty space will exist within "Reel 1"'s packaging for "Reel 2."
Fans wanting bonus material should head to their local Best Buy, where a limited edition package will be sold including "War Pigs" from "Reel 2" as well as a sneak preview of three of the band's first-ever unplugged studio recordings of "Modern Day Cowboy," "Paradise" and "Shine Away"--the last recordings with guitarist Tommy Skeoch in 2005—which will appear on TESLA's forthcoming 20th anniversary boxed set. Details about the boxed set will be announced soon.
On release day the band will be celebrating REAL TO REEL with a day's worth of listening parties, events and appearances in Phoenix, AZ. Early that morning, the band will perform "Thank You" on "Good Morning Arizona" (FOX), followed by a four-hour stint as guest DJs at KDKB-FM (93.3), where TESLA will take over the live radio airwaves from 10am-2pm playing songs from the album, chatting with fans who call in and giving away tickets to their concert in Phoenix on June 12 at the Dodge Theatre. Once that's complete, TESLA head to Best Buy (2727 W. Thunderbird Rd.) for an in-store performance at 4pm. The day will conclude with a listening party at Martini Ranch sponsored by KDKB-FM, Zia Records and Live Nation. While the event is free, fans must be 21 and over to attend. TESLA will be mixing and mingling with fans, playing songs from both "Reel 1" and "Reel 2," and autographing copies of the album which will be available for sale at the event courtesy of Zia Records.
TESLA first tested out some of their favorite rock classics with their fans in the summer of 2006 during the "Electric Summer Jam" tour (the first tour with guitarist Dave Rude, who replaced original guitarist Tommy Skeoch). While UFO's "Rock Bottom" went down like a storm to a standing, cheering, grandstand crowd of 10,000 in Milwaukee, Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" engaged 6,000 people in Lansing, Michigan so much that they refused to leave during a torrential rainstorm which lasted throughout the entire two-hour show. After getting such a positive reaction from their fans, the band knew making REAL TO REEL was a logical next step for them.
What can fans expect this time around at a live TESLA show?
"They'll be hearing a lot of REAL TO REEL along with the hits they know and love," says singer Jeff Keith. "We're excited to play the new songs especially, because we had so much fun recording them. We tested some of them out last summer and people seemed to really like them. Now that we have the 25 songs in our heads, we can't wait to get out there and bring them all to life. And in addition to the TESLA hits, we'll be bringing some older songs out of the archives that we rarely play live. We're looking forward to playing REAL TO REEL with lots of feel."
Meanwhile, TESLA will be the featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" on Wednesday, June 6 at 8:30pm PT/11:30pm ET. They'll chat with host Bob Coburn about REAL TO REEL, the U.S. tour and everything else happening in their world. The band will also be performing a few songs (some from the new album and some TESLA classics), and fans will have the opportunity to call in with questions for the duo at 800-344-ROCK (7625). For local listings, fans should check out www.rocklineradio.com.
In further radio news, lead singer Jeff Keith will appear on "The Adam Carolla Show" on Monday, June 4 at 9:00am Pacific Time. The program can be heard throughout the west coast on the Free FM radio network. Fans should check http://adam.freefm.com/ for local listings and can call in to 866-901-ADAM (2326) to talk with Jeff.
Fans can get up-to-the-minute tour details and purchase VIP ticket packages at the band's website, www.teslarealtoreel.com.
Here are the confirmed tour dates with stops in Chicago, Boston, New York, Baltimore, San Francisco and many other cities to be added in the coming weeks: More...

Mutiny bassist and vocalist AJ sent in another update from Legacy Recording Studios in NYC.
Studio Report 2: Brandon's Guitars complete!
It took 12 hours to complete the guitars today for our 4 song EP. This session took Brandon's playing to the next level. Our producer, Ryan Kelly, really pushed for the best results...and that's exactly what he got...shred! Sweeping, tapping, bending...speed picking, sick riffage, and brutal dive bombs. R. Kelly even grabbed the axe for a minute and recorded a harmony solo with Brandon in "Answer To All."
Next week, we'll have today's guitar tracks playback and record using a variety of amps and sounds simultaneously. Among those will be Ryan's 5150 2 head...brutal tone. We're overly pleased with the guitar tracking today.
Yesterday, the band and I went to NYC for a lesson with Melissa Cross at her vocal studio. The chorus in "Answer To All" requires Lu and Brandon to harmonize vocal lines along with my screaming. Drew played the melody on her piano and Sam kept the 6/8 timing steady...she helped us all tremendously with the arrangement.
Afterwards, we ran up 12 blocks to B.B. King Blues Club & Grill to catch the 1st Symphony X show in 2 years! The band played 3 songs off of their new album, "Paradise Lost," and encored with "The Odyssey." After 9 times of seeing them, I finally got to see that song live! After the show, we met the whole band and informed them of our show together on August 11th at Starland Ballroom. Drew and I had previously played a copy of "My Eyes In The Fire" for their keyboardist, Michael Pinnela, of which he approved, saying Mutiny has awesome melodies and technical skills, especially for such a young band! We thanked all of them last night for providing us with incredible influence...
Next week is Necrophagist, they will be playing their album "Epitaph" in its entirety for the first time!
And lastly, Melissa Cross added "My Eyes In The Fire" as her profile song! www.myspace.com/TheZenOfScreaming
Megadeth guitarist Glen Drover sent in an update for the fans:
"Europe, here we come! I am really looking forward to this tour of Europe, as we have not played in certain areas since 2005 (Ireland, Scotland, etc.) as well as the festival circuit. Needless to say, this is going to be a fun trip. If things go according to plan, I 'may' be debuting a new 'toy' onstage at a certain huge U.K. festival. At this point there is a 50/50 chance due to time issues, but if it does work out, you will love it! Keep your eyes peeled."
Megadeth's new CD, United Abominations, is in stores now, having debuted at #8 on last week's Billboard Charts, with such new tunes as "Washington is Next!," "Sleepwalker," and "Gears of War".
The metal legends have also been tapped as ManiaTV's "Artist of the Day" for this Thursday, May 31, so tune in for an exclusive interview airing at 10AM, 4PM, 9PM, and 2AM - all EST.
Dutch female fronted rock act, Within Temptation, are using the video of their new single "Frozen" to raise public awareness for one of the last remaining taboos in our society: abuse within the family
Sharon den Adel, singer of the band: "We decided to raise this topic because it's still not discussed enough in public. The victims of abuse suffer their whole life from it. The dark figure of abuse is extremely high especially if the abuser is a member of the family which is often the case. Abused children don't dare to disclose their abuser as they obviously have been threatened by this person and in addition they feel guilty accusing a family member.
Since becoming parents we became much more aware of the subject. If you only think for one second this could happen to your own child, you start losing your mind. We learned when writing the lyrics to "Frozen" and then later filming the video how difficult it is to talk openly about this subject.
When the "Frozen" video was shown for the first time on the video internet platform, YouTube, it was viewed by more than 50,000 people within a few days thus becoming one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube. That showed us how important it was for many people that we made a video about this subject.
In the period our video set (the turn from 19th to 20th Century) the Mother saw no other way out for her and her child than to poison her husband. For this she went to jail. That's of course not what we would suggest to anyone today. The only way, however, to stop abuse, is to break the silence and talk about it.
That's why we decided to support Child Helpline International with the income for the "Frozen" single we will receive from our record company.
Child Helpline International (CHI) is a global network of child helplines and works in 150 countries around the world. CHI aims to help establish child helplines in countries that do not offer these valuable services and strengthen those helplines already in existence.
Around 100 child helplines receive 10 million calls a year from children and young people in need. The calls, text messages or web contacts made to the helplines cover many different issues including, physical or sexual abuse, violence, drug use, bullying, relationship issues, but a caller sometimes contacts a helpline because they just need someone to talk to...someone to listen.
CHI works with child helplines in all regions of the world from Africa to Asia, through Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. Wherever children and young people are in need of care and protection, child helplines endeavor to bring them comfort through listening to their concerns, referring them to the appropriate services or in some cases directly intervening to bring children or young people to safety.
CHI believes, no child should be left alone.

Last week Tennessee's The Showdown began filming their first music video with video director Doug Spangenberg (Norma Jean). The video is for the track, "Temptation Come My Way." Filmed on the same grounds used by MTV's Jackass crew, the video will reportedly "reflect the band’s 80s style and features some serious explosions!"
Frontman David Bunton says, "This music video captures the true spirit and feel of The Showdown. No holds barred, heavy metal, pyro, and headbanging. That's what we’re all about. The goal for our first video was to give people a small taste of how rude we can be live. Heavy metal is plugged in and loud. Heavy metal is the law."
"I was amped on the song as soon as I heard it," says Spangenberg. "We kept it simple and shot the band shredding their faces off in a field with a shitload of pyro. In retrospect, I'm surprised they made it out with only light singe marks. They're great dudes, and I look forward to barbequing with them this summer on Ozzfest."

SOLEFALD frontman Cornelius Jakhelln has issued the following update via the group's MySpace page:
"I hinted to this being a very special day in a bulletin this morning. Now the day is almost over, and finally I have the time to inform you. At a press conference in Oslo today I was awarded the 1st prize in a big Scandinavian novel contest, for my saga novel "The Fall Of The Gods" (Gudenes Fall). For five years I have worked on that book. There have been more downs than ups along the way, with disappointment and disapproval, lack of motivation and financial strain. Lots of it. At one point I had the novel turned down pretty harshly by my publisher, just before which I contracted tendonitis (past by now). My bitterness was complete. I considered giving up writing entirely.More...
