Brutus Streaming Video Teaser

Norwegian 'beer dripping blues' band Brutus has commented on the release of its upcoming second album: “Behind The Mountains was recorded in various parts over a long period, so it took a while to get ready. But we are really happy with our second album, so it was all worth it. The songs were recorded in Subsonic Society here in Oslo, the same studio that we used for the split EP with Graviators. For mastering and mixing, we used Micke Nilson and Henryk Lipp from Music-a-Matic studio in Gothenburg – same guys we worked with for the debut LP. Now we just want to put it out for everyone to enjoy it as we do.”

A limited edition single set for the track "Personal Riot" was just released on Svart Records, a track that Brutus also made into a video teaser below. "Behind the Mountains" will be released on June 14th via Svart records. The band states that "Brutus came together when three bearded Swedes and two Norwegians immediately started to deep-dive into their own private collections of LPs and thus the conception of a musical journey, unpreceded - ever before, or after, for that matter - was in process. One song soon turned into six and it all climaxed in a smokin' 'California Jam' at a garage in Oslo."

Structures Vocalist To Miss Tour

Structures has checked in with the following statement about the band's vocalist missing upcoming Australian tour dates:

"We are sad to announce that our vocalist Nick was not able to make the trip to New Zealand and Australia. It was brought to our attention 2 days prior to our flight that all of our passports had been lost in the mail. In order to get emergency passports issued we all needed to present two pieces of identification.

"Unfortunately, Nick's second piece of I.D was his passport and wasn't able to get the proper identification in order before the singularity tour due to time restrictions and being out-of province. We had 24 hours to get new passports made and received them 3 hours prior to our flight. This is a HUGE bummer for all of us and wish we had some sort of control over this.

"With that being said, we will have our tour manager and good friend Alex Lidstone fill in for Nick on vocal duties for this tour. Alex learned the lyrics and patterns ON the flight to New Zealand. We can't express how thankful we are for his last minute assistance with this emergency.

"If you know our lyrics, we encourage you to help us out and sing along with us this month. This is a dream come true, and the fact that the rest of us were able to make this tour is honestly nothing short of a miracle. Thanks for your understanding, we are making the absolute best out of this situation.

"Cant wait to see all your faces Australia!" More...

Tragodia Signs With Kolony Records

Kolony Records will bring Italian act Tragodia to the label's expanding roster, as the band prepares to release its third full-length release worldwide in the coming months. Kolony comments:

"Based out of Italy’s Northern Italian commune of Brescia, Tragodia has released two full-length albums to date, beginning with their debut The Promethean Legacy, released in 2007, followed by 2012’s more expansive Theomachy. With a charging, versatile and at times progressive approach to melodic metal, a blend of vocal styles, blazing solos and straightforward sections of crushing, classic but modernized thrash-inspired songwriting fuel the band’s works.

"With the fresh steam behind their engines still hot after last year’s Theomachy album, the band began creating their next opus, in the meantime having caught the attention of Kolony Records, who signed Tragodia for the release of their nearly-completed third studio full-length. The quintet has been hard at work constructing the layered new release over recent weeks, which is guaranteed to boast the most epic tunes of the band’s creation to date."

Commented guitarist Francesco Lupi: "We are very happy to enter Kolony Records' excellent roster and to be part of this very fast growing label. Kolony Records is becoming well known for always striving to reach a balance between sheer musical quality and winning marketing strategies. We are also confident to have a killer album under our belt!” More...

Goatess Announces Self-Titled Album

Svart Records has announced July 5th as the international release date for Goatess's self-titled debut album. The following press release was issued about the band:

"Goatess is a Swedish quartet comprising Chritus, Niklas, Kenta, and Findus. Despite having no records out on the market, Goatess has already created a massive buzz and appeared at such prestigious festivals as Doom Shall Rise in Germany, with more live appearances on the horizon. Goatess shall be released by Svart on CD, limited double LP, and digital download - track listing and cover follow below.

"Goatess is also noteworthy for the presence of Swedish cult doom metal vocalist Chritus Linderson (Saint Vitus, Terra Firma, Count Raven), who has, after a few years off the grid, experienced a strong return to form in the new millennium. Best known nowadays for belting out classic doom metal at the helm of Lord Vicar, he has also been nurturing a more homegrown project which began under the working title Weekend Beast and then developed into Goatess.

"The Goatess concept was born from Linderson's desire to create music that is based on atmosphere and the worship of the heavy riff, as opposed to the strictly structured doom metal of Lord Vicar." More...

Noneuclid Signs With Blood Music

Blood Music has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Germany's Noneuclid:

"Blood Music proudly welcomes to it roster -- the bizarre stylings of Noneuclid. This underground 'supergroup" consists of key members from Obscura, Dark Fortress (Official), Triptykon (Official) (as well as a live member from Celtic Frost), playing indescribable compositions that fall somewhere in the realm of stone-faced thrash mixed with experimental progressive death metal.

"We will be handling full release duties for the band's incredibly long-awaited sophomore album 'Metatheosis.' The album was finished in 2007 and didn't find a home until now, 6 years later!

"We view it as Slayer on acid with heavy doses of monsters and outer space, and the band says of it: 'It's a condensed, multifaceted missile of hyperbolic extreme metal - utterly uncompromising, straight from the heart, and hopefully again a key to unlock very different doors into the psychic multiverse.'

"Once and for all, this album will finally see the light of day. Check a few track from the band's bizarre debut below." More...

AC Angry Posts Tour Report

AC Angry has posted a tour video online from the band's time on the road with Michael Schenker Group, which can be found below, and the band also issued the following tour report:

"Rockers, you wanna know how stunning the life of a Rock 'n' Roll band on tour is? ;-) Well, check out our tour and video diary of our tour with Michael Schenker Group / Temple Of Rock!

"30.04.2013 D-Dresden, Tante JU: We leave early (definitely too early for Rock 'n' Roll) on Tuesday morning and head off to Dresden to start our mini tour with Michael Schenker. We pack as much equipment in the bus as possible, get a quick cup of coffee and off we go. After our seven hour drive through beautiful German landscapes and various service stations we enter Dresden and drive directly to the venue, the Club Tante JU. Michael Schenker and his fellow campaigners Herman Rarebell (ex-Scorpions), Francis Buchholz (ex-Scorpions), Doogie White (ex-Rainbow/Yngwie Malmsteen) and Wayne Findlay are already there, doing sound check. We can already hear the Marshall amps roaring through the venue.

"We say hello and go to the backstage area where we get ourselves some beers, before it is our turn to do sound check. After the sound check we head backstage again and have a chat with tonight’s opening band, Lord Bishop. Nice guys and so we prepare ourselves for the show with some more beers. At eight o'clock Lord Bishop open tonight's concert and their deliver a good show. The singer fires up the audience, but not only by his imposing appearance. Then it is our turn. We enter the stage at 21:30 and the venue is well-filled by now. The audience is in a fantastic mood and so our 45 minutes set passes quickly. At 22:30 the headliner gets on stage and delivers a set consisting of classic Scorpions, UFO and MSG songs. We watch the show from our merch stand and are totally impressed. Guitar legend Michael Schenker seems to be in top-notch shape and so we are even more excited about the further tour dates. Back in the backstage area we bring the day to a close with more beer and delicious catering… More...

Blight Streaming New Songs

Blight has posted the new songs "Death Reborn" and "Gnostic Dirge" online, which can be heard below. The band also issued the following statement about its history and recent activity:

"Blight burst forth from the Womb of the UmbraPlasma back in 2008 as a singular emanation willed by our Lord in Gnosis, Luxferre. Initially Blight was a very low profile side-project from ex-members of Vatican (G. McCaughry & Thomas) which was only to release underground tapes - namely 'hELIed' via Croquemort Records, and 'Anarchonic Deathworship' via Heavy Penetration Prod.

"After a brief hiatus from 2010 to 2011, and G. McCaughry parting ways with Thomas, as well as the subsequent online release of all recorded material thus far, a new pact was formed with ex-Insect members Pascal, Cedric & Rob (formerly from Insect & Ontos On) to create what would become the next incarnation of Blight as a full-lineup project.

"2012 was a busy year focusing on developing that vision, writing new material and preparing for an eventual come back on stage. Brand new tracks, respectively entitled 'Death Reborn' and 'Gnostic Dirge,' have been recorded at Sonic Stream Studio by Max Ducharme (aka Scythrawl) from Ether, Trails of Anguish, Nefastus Dies, Unquintessence, etc. The EP is free to download at Bandcamp." Undersmile Releases New Music Video

Undersmile and director M. Arthur Wickson are very happy to present the music video for the song “Soil,” taken from the band’s recent split EP "Wood & Wire" released on transparent purple 12” vinyl by Shaman Recordings. Check out the clip via The Sleeping Shaman or in the player below.

The video was filmed in the spring of 2013 at various locations, but primarily in and around Shaken Oak Farm where the band recorded its half of the split with acoustic alter-egos Coma Wall. Directed and edited by M. Arthur Wickson (who also produced the band’s previous music video for “Milk”), the “Soil” video attempts to capture more of the band’s live energy – apt for a song that has recently become a staple of Undersmile's live set.

In other news, Undersmile has announced that a limited edition CD of "Wood & Wire" is to be released in June/July on Future Noise Recordings, the label which also released last year’s "Narwhal." The CD will feature an exclusive bonus track in the form of Coma Wall’s take on Undersmile’s “Big Wow,” as well as more artwork (the original concept sketches) from the talented Craig Bryant. The track listing is:

Autopsy Streaming New Song

Autopsy's new studio album "The Headless Ritual," is due out July 2nd on Peaceville Records. The Bay Area death metal act has teamed up with NPR Music to premiere the first cut, "Arch Cadaver," off the upcoming album at this location.

After listening to the new track, fans can head over to the Peaceville web-store for a variety of "The Headless Ritual" pre-order options, including bundles with an exclusive Autopsy shirt design, right here.

The album was recorded and mixed in April 2013 at Fantasy Studios, San Francisco, California with Adam Munoz, and features cover artwork by artist Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin).
