After announcing plans to regroup for live shows, a brand new Nine Inch Nails album is now finished, and it's coming out later this year on Columbia Records. Trent Reznor comments:
“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great.
"This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”
Further details will be announced as they are made available.

"Witherscape marks the long overdue return for Dan Swanö as an active composer and recording artist in the world of extreme metal, after having mostly been involved with mixing in the studio during these past years. While The Inheritance is not purely a death metal release, it showcases both the heavier and mellower sides of Swanö's creativity, and should consequently not only please fans of his earlier efforts like Moontower or the Edge of Sanity catalogue, but also attract fans of progressively atmospheric contemporary metal in the vein of Opeth, Katatonia, or Amorphis. "However, this end is the beginning of something new. Something bigger. Fedor & Nikki are working on a new project at the moment, that is currently in its final stage before the launch.
"We are currently preparing a video for the first single of the project, however we are in a difficult financial situation and cannot afford to pull this off completely by ourselves. That’s why we are selling these exclusive limited edition Apostate wooden boxes that includes our last EP 'A A O’, t-shirt and flash drive with every release in our history..."

They are occasionally joined by former Kelly Osbourne, Queen V and X’s guitarist Chris Goercke.

GOC's music has also been featured on the A&E television show Dog the Bounty Hunter three times—a monumental achievement for a band that has defied the odds since its inception."

Massachusetts-based All Pigs Must Die this week declares the details for the band's imminently destructive second LP "Nothing Violates This Nature," pending release this Summer via Southern Lord. The following press release was issued about the album:
"After a stretch of silence since the Winter recording sessions of the anticipated follow-up to their enraged 2011-released God Is War, months of planning and plotting on every front of the All Pigs Must Die camp have gone into the creation of this quartet’s newest and most damaging new works yet; a ten-anthem declaration of disdain the band has dubbed Nothing Violates This Nature.
"While holding true to what the band is known for, on the new album APMD has obviously honed some new methods to their attack, merging some more calmly delivered protocols of execution with some of their most oppositely unhinged and violent rampages yet on this album. As with God Is War, the crushing Nothing Violates This Nature was recorded at Godcity with Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered at Audiosiege by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise), maximizing All Pigs Must Die's deafening aggression, and the appropriately grim packaging illustrated by Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom), viewable below.
"A hateful unification of musicians from notable acts The Hope Conspiracy, Converge, Bloodhorse and more, as All Pigs Must Die these assassins fuse some of the most straightforward metal/hardcore elements into anthems as instantly infectious as they are incendiary. Live they’ve stormed venues alongside Integrity, Enabler, Ringworm, Black Breath, Eyehategod, Repulsion, Down, Sleep, Exodus, Church Of Misery and tons of others as part of The Power Of The Riff events, Southern Lord label showcases, Scion Rock Fest, SXSW and more, including a U.S. tour with Narrows. 2013 will see APMD touring in support of Nothing Violates This Nature; stay tuned for updates including new music, live actions, an official street date and more over the coming weeks."

Season of Mist is proud to welcome Scandinavian progressive act Cronian to its roster. The band is none other than the union of Borknagar mastermind Øystein G. Brun with Mr. V, also known as Vintersorg.
“I am so excited and honoured to join forces with Season of Mist for future albums with Cronian!” Øystein comments. “We have just finished up the third album and I don't even slightly blush when arguing out loud that it is the very pinnacle of my fairly long musical career. Musically and production-wise, it almost feels like a leap up and into another division. Mr. V and I have been working intensely and fully isolated over the last six months with this bastard of an album and we firmly regard this as our most catchy, aggressive, atmospheric and darken flavoured effort to date. I am pretty sure this album will blow the socks off of all those who liked our previous releases, as well as fans of Borkngar, Vintersorg and likewise. So being able to work with one of the most credible, passionate and professional labels around makes my day - and make us proud! So excited to get this album out! Cheers!”
Mr V adds: “A new album has left our 'systems' and is now finding its path throughout the musical world. It has surely been a great journey to write, record and complete this third album in the Cronian chronicle. The music finally matches our vision is and it’s been an intense period for me and Øystein to really get there. We’re also very pleased to now enter the relationship with Season of Mist to get this album out. Even if the music has been taking its path out of our bodies, it is still lingering in our minds… It’s stuck… And it feels just great. We’re so proud of this album and it’s just a pleasure to be reminded all the time of what a trip this has been.”

Israel's Orphaned Land has now teamed up with Metal.de to debut the atmospheric video for the band's latest single, "Brother." This track is taken from Orphaned Land's upcoming 6th studio album, "All Is One," which is due out June 24th in Europe and June 25th in North America via Century Media Records.
Check out the clip at Metal.de or in the player below. Kobi Farhi (vocals) comments about the track:
"This is a song that Itshak is singing to his brother Ishmael. According to the bible, they were both the sons of Abraham from two different mothers. Today, Itshak is known as the father of the Israeli nation while Ishmael is known as the father of the Arab nation. Historically, that means of course that it's a historical fact that Israelis and Arabs are brothers and we believe that the deepest source for our actual conflict still lies there, between the two brothers.
"Both sides today are so focused on being right in the conflict and fill themselves with hate. Every side is so busy with being the victim, and today it doesn't make sense to either one of the sides that we are historically brothers. People forgot it, forgot that our language is alike, as well as our names and history. More...
DevilDriver has confirmed that the title of the band's new album is "Winter Kills." The album will be released worldwide on August 27th. The band recorded the album in Florida at Audio Hammer Studios and vocals in Los Angeles, CA at Dez's home studio with Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, All That Remains) handling production duties.
The artwork for Winter Kills features a photograph by Dean Karr. The layout was done by Ryan Clark/Invisible Creature. Dez FaFara comments:
"This is by far Devildriver's most cohesive, powerful, groove laden record to date! We delivered our signature California Groove sound alongside a Raw and Biting guitar tone, mixed it with massive hooks, added in thunderous drums to rethink, and reshape another different sounding unique piece of Rock-N-Roll! Cutting our own path is something to be proud of.
"Devildriver has always and will forever be about thinking outside the box and delivering on something different from record to record, we cannot be assimilated into any scene or even genre of Metal and we will continue to do things our own way with a massive middle finger in the air to the status quo!" Lima, Peru-based death/doom act Mirthless has allied themselves with MetalRecusants.com for the exclusive premier of their new track "Prelude to Doomsday." The track comes from the band's debut full-length entitled "A Dirge For Your Suicide," which is set for a June 1st release on Dunkelheit Produktionen. Stream the track at this location. This analogue-recorded album is given a 3-panel-digipack including a colored poster (24 x 24 cm) by Dunkelheit Produktionen. The artwork was made by Erick Neyra (Goat Semen) and matches the sound of the occult hellish elegies. The debut marks the first recording from the band since the 2004 "Remembrances" EP.
Mirthless emerged in 2003 with the gathering of two sinister souls: Mirthless (Suicide Voice of Doom Kult) and Satyricon (Senile Dementia in Drums), who were inspired to create music filled with despair and darkness. A few months later another fallen soul appeared: Soulless (Mournful Sound of Anguish and Pain), with whom the band composed two sad poems and recorded a rehearsal tape during November and December of 2004 called Rehearsal I. Satyricon quit the band for personal reasons and was replaced by Schizophrenic (Disturbed Mind in Drums) in 2011. He had been living in a mental hospital for a long period.
