Florida-based extreme black legends MORBID ANGEL are currently working at returned singer David Vincent's private studio on new material that will surface later this year/early 2008. The band and their management are also actively seeking label representation for the anxiously-awaited, as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2003's Heretic.
Morbid Angel albums have been released with titles descending in alphabetical order and this trend will likely follow with a title beginning with the letter I. Morbid Angel's current lineup features Vincent, guitarist Trey Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval.
Adema have announced the title of their upcoming new studio album to be 'Kill The Headlights'. They gave an update that the album should already be mastered by now and the first copy will be in the band's hands as of last week. They are in the process of booking a slew of summer tour dates and will announce them shortly. They expect some international dates such as Europe and Japan to be included on these dates as well. The album will be in stores on July 24th.
Long-standing Belgian black/thrash metallers ICONOCLASM have issued the following update via their official website:
"After many years of joy during which we shared the stage with several great bands, Iconoclasm has decided to go into a hybernation. At this point we all feel a bit 'fed-up' and have some private matters that need to be taken care of. Time will tell if we will go on in the future.
"This also means we won't do any gigs no more. All confirmed gigs will be cancelled. The last show we did was at Steel Warriors Rebellion Fest in Portugal. We all raise our horns to thank the organization of SWR and our session drummer Hennix (Demonizer) for making this gig possible and for the great alchoholic time in Barroselas.
"As some sort of tribute, a huge load of pictures from the year 2006 is online and can be viewed in the pictures-area. And last but definitly not least, we wish our ex-drummer Jeroenymous all the best in his future life. Thank you for many years of dedication and madness. This video from the show at Graspop Metal Meeting 2006 is dedicated to you!"
Adelaide metal band MURDER HILL will introduce their new drummer, James Lewis, on Friday June 22nd at the ENIGMA BAR in Adelaide, Australia. Playing with Murder Hill on the night are ONE STEP BEYOND, HATRED SLAVE and BEYOND MORTAL DREAMS. Entry is $10, and doors open at 8pm.
Since The Flood vocalist Chuck Bouley has amicably left the group. According to the band, "Chuck has decided that the touring life is not for him. We love him and wish him the best, and STF will never be quite the same without him."
The Massachusetts hardcore band now seeks a replacement, stating:
"We're not quite ready to hang it up, as we have a great label, booking agent, and some serious tours scheduled. With that all said, you all know what we sound like and anyone who has seen us live knows that we demand an energetic pressence on stage. If you feel like you can fill Chuck's massive shoes, we'd like to hear from you. Here's the deal; we'll be home June 3rd and or 4th to hold auditions in Western MA. If you want to try out, you'll have to make your way there on your own or come up with some way to try out another way. You'll have to prepare two songs, "Valor and Vengeance," and "Gone Tomorrow" and have them down perfectly. You know what Chuck sounds like. Don't bother if you sound like Lord Worm. We leave for tour no later than the 7th of June and will be back no sooner than July 17th. Things are still up in the air and the tour will more than likely get extended as far as August. You have to be available for this time period plus almost endless touring in the future. We're all easy going and hardworking. We expect the same from you. We'll make exceptions to any of these rules if you're the right guy for the job. Just email us."
Syracuse metal/hardcore band Freya, featuring Karl Buechner and Erick Edwards of Earth Crisis, has officially confirmed the addition of guitarist Jeddie Gentile and bassist Mike LaGrow. Both Jeddie and LaGrow were previously members of The Last Season and Jeddie actually joined Freya as a full-time member in February.
Meanwhile, the band recently shot a video for "Suffer Not One" with Rich Stahle of UVTV. According to the band "It went very well and we can't wait to see the finished product. It was a new experience for some of us." The video will debut in several weeks, but photos from the shoot are online here.
