Greek black metal act Naer Mataron has issued the following update about recording guitars for the band's upcoming album:
"Thursday was the last day for guitars. All leads are done, a few themes, fills and solos here and there, not just for the sake of it, but to serve each song's atmosphere. I always believed that the most difficult thing is keeping things simple, for simplicity in music is in itself essential. Just like the Doric order of architecture, a simple column with minimal designs, but radiating such strength in it's simplicity. Easy to understand, yet hard to achieve.
"Another challenge has come to an end and I am full filled with a feeling of satisfaction and conquest. Yet, much more lay ahead to conquer in the future... World without end!"

World Under Blood has uploaded the track “A God Among the Waste” to the band's official Facebook page. Head over to this location to check out the new track. The song comes from the band's upcoming debut album entitled "Tactical," which is set for release on July 26th (North America) and July 29th (Europe).
Commented guitarist/vocalist and mastermind of the project Deron Miller: "’A God Among the Waste’, to me is an instant classic because it melts your face right at the start and then concludes with an opposing mellow ending. I'm told it has a great chorus and it's the first time I’ve recorded a guitar solo in 15 years. The first 8 or so seconds are the fastest the album ever gets and because of that, I made it the album opener so people are brutalized as soon as they press play. No bullshit intros or scary gothic synths; it just gets going faster than you can probably handle it.”
World Under Blood is the melodic tech-death band of CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller. The full line-up is as follows:
Deron Miller – guitar, vocals (CKY)
Tim Yeung – drums (Divine Heresy, Morbid Angel, ex-HATE ETERNAL, ex-DECREPIT BIRTH)
Risha Eryavac – bass (ex-Decrepit Birth)
Luke Jaeger – guitar (Sleep Terror)

"Recently, Holocausto Canibal covered Mata Ratos in the tribute 'Covers, Cu e Mamas o Tributo Ideal.' Now it's time for Miguel Newton to lend his ferocious voice to one Gorefilia song. One thing is certain, this will be a future hymn! More special guests, to be announced soon! GRIND ON!"

Nemesea recently revealed that the band's new album will be titled "The Quiet Resistance." The band has now checked in with the following update about the album:
"Last week we revealed the title of our upcoming album. Today HJ will tell you a little bit more about the meaning behind this title. After lot's of songwriting, recording and producing there comes that moment to choose an album title. After we finished the songs, especially the lyrics, we found there was a certain theme in almost all the songs.
"Can you recall that feeling when you don't agree with someone or something and you want to stand up and speak out but are afraid to do so? Whether this is within a group, at home, at school, during work. Whether it's about feelings, politics, human and animal rights, everybody experiences resistance at some point and it's often frustrating if it stays a quiet resistance. Often you wished that you'd spoken your mind or stood up afterwards. That is what the album is about, just say it like it is!"
"Guest appearances: we won't reveal any names today but we can tell you there will be one or even a few nice guest appearances on the new album. In a few weeks we will tell you more about that! More...

Hatesphere, which will be entering the recording studio in June, has now announced the band's new bass player is Jimmy Nedergaard (Gob Squad). The band is currently working on a seventh album scheduled to be released through Napalm Records in September.
Jimmy Nedergaard commented on joining the band, "I've been a fan of HateSphere for a long time, so of course I had to audition. Both their music and the energy they put in their work appeals to me, and our future plans for HateSphere are the same, so it seems obvious to me, to work and play with these guys."
The band also added, "Finding a new bass player showed not to be as easy, as we had hoped but our patience luckily paid off. Being a metal head but coming from a punk rock background, Jimmy fits our profile perfectly. He knows what he is going into, he shares our visions with the band, he has tried something different than metal but still has it deep in his heart, and last but not least he's a great guy. Fitting in personally means a lot to us, so Jimmy's age and experience has made him the perfect choice. We have already played our first live show with him, partied with him and involved him in the writing process of the new songs, so he has had a busy start - just as we want it."
In other news, Hatesphere will be on the upcoming Danish Headbanger's Ball Tour alongside Mercenary.

Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds recently commented on the forthcoming new album from Mastodon and had the following to say about its musical direction;
"'Blood Mountain' and 'Crack the Skye' — those albums took too long to make. This only took us a couple weeks to record and there’s a totally different feeling to it. It's a jump-on-your-bed, get naked, and go streaking kind of record. I haven't had this feeling about a Mastodon record since [2004's] 'Leviathan.' It's just fucking awesome.
"We've got a song about fighting, there's a song about lifting heavy stuff, there's a song about people on meth creeping around in trees trying to get the best wood grain out of a tree to sell it at Lowe's for [drug] money…the album is kind of silly. We're taking the piss out of things. It sounds like Zeppelin with these smooth buttery vocals and a huge Jimmy Page-style guitar solo. Me and Brann [Dailor, drums] play off each other also in this sort of proggy way. There's a lot of stuff for the listener to tweak their ear to"
Song titles set to appear on the album include "Blasteroids," "All the Heavy Lifting," and "The Sparrow." The band are also planning on giving the album the title of "The Hunter" or "Brother" in honor of Brent Hinds' own brother who unexpectedly passed away last December while hunting.
European progressive metal act Textures has posted some new studio footage online documenting its time spent recording its forthcoming new album. When asked about the album the band commented by saying;
"This might be the biggest thing we have done so far, especially guitar-wise. We really used every piece of gear – every guitar, amp, cabinet and effect – that was available to us at Split Second Sound studio, to get the right sounds for all the different parts of the album. It’s a very tough process; we have been tracking guitar for weeks now, but finally the end is in sight! Bass, synths and vocals still need to be done, and those are being recorded right now. The pieces are coming together. This album is growing beyond control! [We] can’t wait to get on the road with this!"

"Though we are still a very small band, 4 years ago when we were absolutely nothing, Facedown and the Dunn family believed in us enough to invest their time and money into us. We were some n00bs from Tennessee that thought we knew everything but really knew nothing.
With Facedown’s backing, we have been able to travel the world and meet tons of great people through our music. They have always supported us and given us complete artistic freedom. With that being said, it only seems right to continue on with the supportive team we have behind us. We are proud to continue working from within the Facedown Family."
