Deathead has issued the following statement about streaming the new songs "Pleasure In Pain," "An Offering To The Gods," and "Controlled By Chaos" on their MySpace page:
"We have uploaded several new songs from our forthcoming new album, An Offering to the Gods. The cd will be out in July and until then enjoy the tuneage."
Dream Theater recently revealed Rainbow's "Stargazer" as the first of the cover songs recorded for their upcoming album "Black Clouds & Silver Linings." The song will be available on the three-disc special edition CD release of the album, and is available on the iTunes Store right now.
Over the coming weeks, until the album's release on June 23rd, five more songs will be announced and made available on the iTunes Store. "To Tame A Land" by Iron Maiden is already understood to be one of the covers, recorded for a Kerrang! magazine tribute to Iron Maiden in 2008. They also just announced three Queen covers and posted a medley of them online.
Roadrunner Records's website features an interview with Mike Portnoy on the selection of "Stargazer" and the idea behind the inclusion of cover songs on the album.
Metallica has posted a message on their official website concerning the rumours of them shooting a new live DVD. It reads as follows:
"There's been a little chatter here and there about us filming a few shows this summer for potential release on DVD and among the countless internet rumors, these ones are actually true! We thought it would be cool to document a few shows that are unique and sure to be extra memorable for us, and hopefully for you too . . . first up are the three sold out shows in Mexico City, Mexico at Foro Sol on June 4, 6, 7 and later this summer, we also plan to have the cameras rolling at the sold out show in Nimes, France at Arenes de Nimes, the historic Roman amphitheatre where we'll be on July 7."

Destroyer 666 has issued the following announcement about streaming the new song "A Stand Defiant" on their MySpace page:
"Our thanks to all who came out to see us at the Maryland Deathfest. We have finally been given the green light to post a new track.Which is done."
The song comes from their upcoming album "Defiance," which will be released in Europe on June 22nd and in the U.S. on July 14th.
Thine Eyes Bleed has issued the following statement about an upcoming benefit show:
"'The Araya Family and Friends Benefit Concert For Anamaria Araya' is this Friday, May 29th in Long Beach, Ca.
"Anamaria has ovarian cancer. We've organized this concert as a way of helping her to pay for her medical care, show her support and at the same time we'll get to play and hear good music played by many of the Araya family musicians and good friends.
"Hope you can come out. If you're not able to make it we'd appreciate any donation you can spare. Thanks so much."

Nuclear Blast street metallers Hardcore Superstar just made their new album "Beg For It" available for free online streaming on their Myspace page. "Beg For It" is due to release June 5th.
Equal Vision band Sky Eats Airplane is currently on "The Nu-Metal Tour" and have recorded a cover of Limp Bizkit's "Nookie." This is apparently causing a great stir in the electronic metalcore fan base, so Sky Eats Airplane wants all to know the reasons for covering such a song.

Nashville natives Destroy, Destroy, Destroy will exclusively premiere its new music video for "The Wretched Forest" today on MySpace Metal. Black Market Activities says,
"The video for "The Wretched Forest" transcends historical time periods, taking us back to when quests for the Holy Grail and slaying dragons were more than mere legend spoken by elders. "The Wretched Forest" is directed by Steve Stemac, with post production by Ryan Kendrick of Digital Bohemia."

For Today has posted a new song from their as yet unreleased sophomore album "Portraits." The 3rd song to be released to the band's myspace is called "Immanuel (The Redeemer)" and features guest vocals by Joe Musten from Advent. They will also be touring Australia with Saving Grace immediately following the Scream The Prayer tour. More...
British thrash masters EVILE have entered the studio to begin recording their new, as-yet-untitled new album, which is slated for a September 2009 release.
Following a few days of pre-production in March, the band took a break to hit the road on their first headlining UK tour, and have now returned with producer RUSS RUSSELL to record the follow-up to 2007's modern thrash masterpiece, ENTER THE GRAVE. More...
French heavy metallers, NIGHTMARE, have inked a world wide record deal with AFM Records.
The band comments on the signing, "We are very proud to announce that NIGHTMARE have inked a (world wide) deal with German giant metal label AFM Records."
The band has entered the Indiscreet Studio in Stuttgart, Germany on May 4th with famous producer, Achim Koehler (EDGUY, MASTERPLAN, PRIMAL FEAR) an the helm, to record their seventh studio album. The album entitled "Insurrection," will be released worldwide through AFM on September 11th. More...
NJ progressive metal band, Ferox Canorus, has issued the following message about the progress of their recording and departure of bassist Andres Villota:
"Recording of the EP is coming along. Slow, but it's happening. A substantial chunk should be finished this weekend and that leaves some odds and ends as well as the vocals. Unfortunately, vocals will not be recorded until we choose our lead singer. We have done (and are conducting) auditions still and I would like to say we will know in another week or two... in any case, you will know as soon as we know!" More...
A heavy metal band from Jordan named Bilocate has been ordered to dissolve by the country's government. The bands lyrics mainly focus on Mesopotamian and Nabataean legends which was deemed dangerous by the Jordanian intelligence agency.
