What an amazing experience the band’s first tour has been. Our heartfelt thanks to all the people we met and worked with on this tour. Each and every one of you had a part to play in its overall success, and a very special thanks goes out to the few lifesavers who were kind enough to put a roof over our heads.
"Everyone we’ve met along the way have been extremely cool to us which we’ll never forget. We have worked with some great people, played with a lot of great bands, received tons of feedback and positive responses in each of the different cities and are very much looking forward to the day when we get to return and do it all again.
"Over the next number of weeks, we’ll be uploading the last of the interviews that we’re recorded during the tour, as well as some of our video footage which we’ve been using to document our experiences in Canada.

British technical death metal virtuosos THE BOY WILL DROWN have just come off the road after playing a short string of dates in Germany, the band's first shows outside of the UK.
The band reports on their first venture into mainland Europe:
"First time TBWD has been on a ferry and across the pond. We were excited and looking forward to the prospect of playing shows where we wouldn't have a clue what people were saying and seeing rather amusing place and road signs such as 'Wankum' lol. But so far it has been such a blast and the album material has gone down so well with the fans; also people are looking rather rad in the new tee. Surprising how late the shows start in Europe. Didn't manage to get onstage in Gent till almost midnight! But the diehard fans stayed till the very end and it was an awesome show!"
"What have we been up to during the day? Well... The daily activities mainly include enjoying the great weather, bit of sightseeing being total tourists, driving on the wrong side of the road (sooooo weird) then doing the gigs! Can't be bad I reckon. All planning to get our tan on ;) but having to pay to use the service station toilets is fucking Mack." More...

Having the second highest charting music DVD in the states and the fifth highest in Canada is more than enough proof that I was right! Thank you to the fans... this DVD is dedicated to you and you alone. You are the reason this band stays strong and keeps on going. Our most sincere thanks to our friend and director Robbie Tassaro for his undying devotion to the project. Without him, Majesty never would have happened. Chaosanct has issued the following update about the recording of their new EP:
"Well, we've been busy polishing off the new EP, currently mixing and mastering it, and getting the cover sorted out as well as the new improved logo, so everything is go, with Tilman once again at the mixing and production helm of it all!
"So far it sounds cracking, and we're all excited about unleashing it upon the world :)
"Further to that, we've also gone and let Paul Scanlan loose on the old tracks we have from the I of Goliath EP, and whilst not a rerecording, and more of an update, it is consolidating us as a band, and letting his talents shine through.
"This coming weekend we're playing Tsunami Fest , a 3 day travelling festival around Holland, so once we get back from that, and the dust has settled, we'll be getting round to updating everything, and putting some more tracks online, both new, and old ones lightly touched up with some added spice!
"Not only that, but there's also some stuff coming that people have been asking for for a while, which we'll announce soon as it is available!"

Metal As Fuck reports:
"Having CRADLE OF FILTH in the City Of Churches caused a lot of excitement, and they played a pretty good set. But Dani Filth walking off-stage in the middle of a track, thereby pretty much ending the show, was baffling, a little bit unprofessional, and a bad way to end a good night." More...

According to legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin, Metallica will be filming their upcoming shows in Mexico for a forthcoming DVD. It is currently unclear if this footage will be replacing the footage filmed in Paris or if they will both be used. Halfin's report reads: "I'm in LA for a couple of days then off to Guadalajara to shoot THE MARS VOLTA, then back to LA for love making, then back to Mexico to shoot METALLICA, who are playing three nights in the football stadium, which is now going to be filmed so I have to shoot a DVD cover."
We've been talking to bands to hear their best pit stories. This week, we've got a tale from Matt Fox, guitarist for Shai Hulud.
"I learned pretty early on I wasn't suited for "moshing", though I certainly had no idea I could sustain an injury simply standing in "the pit"...
At a They Might Be Giants show.
For those unfamiliar with They Might Be Giants, they're not terribly mosh-friendly, a far cry from Slayer in speed and aggression (and Satanism for that matter) and inspire more pogo hops than anything else - there is, however, the odd stage dive. I didn't expect it, and I didn't see it coming, but I felt it well enough. I'm not sure if it was a stray hand that belted me, or if the diver and I collided forehead to forehead, regardless, it smarted. The shock of the impact was brief; the shock of the one and a half seconds that followed lasted a good 15 fifteen years plus, as I'm here retelling this story from 1992 in 2009.
So there I am, after getting good and smacked, holding the culprit in the air with another person who's got her legs. Me? I've got her breasts. All two of them. One in each hand. How they got there, I have no idea. I was too busy getting physically smashed to intentionally grope anyone. She scowled at me, and then I pawned her off on the person to my left. If they got past second base with her, I'll never know."
In the next installment of "Tales from the Pit" we'll hear from Angela and Justin from Facedown band The Great Commission. To give you an idea, it involved barbed wire, fireworks, and baseball bats.

In a recent interview with the Rock Gone Wild website, Armored Saint frontman John Bush (also formerly of Anthrax) gave an insight as to how the bands new album is coming along. An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:
What is Armored Saint up to these days?
Bush: “We’re working on a new record—we’re now about nine songs into it (note: RGW heard four of these songs while in L.A. in November, and they rock!). It should be out later this year or early next year. Metal Blade is still our label in the states; we’re working out some of the legal stuff for an international release."
Will any of these new songs feature in your set at RGW?
Bush: “Yes, one for sure; the rest of the set will be the typical Saint stuff."
What should the RGW fans expect from the show?
Bush: “We don’t play that much anymore, so when we do, we give it our all; it’s an event. It will be an in-your-face, high energy, metal fest. I expect the crowd to participate as well."
British thrash metal legends Onslaught has announced that they will be releasing their first live album, "Live Damnation" on July 20th through Candlelight Records. The show was recorded in November of last year in Leeds, England at the Damnaton Festival.

The aggression has been turned right up to 11 with the new songs and I can't wait for you to hear these motherfuckers!"
