Mechanical God Creation Recruits New Members

Death metal act Mechanical God Creation has announced the addition of new guitar player and drummer to the line up. Bass player Veom comments:

“We would like to officially announce that Manuel and Davide aren’t part of Mechanical God Creation anymore. We have been working really hard together and we can say that we have created something great with them but MGC really needed a change for the better. In life, like in paths there are many different ways.

"We 'walked' together but after a while our 'path' became too hard for them and they didn’t feel ready to follow us and share important choices and decisions. We can understand their decision and if they will get better results and goals we will be happy for them.

"As for the band, we have to go ahead trying to give and do our best. We already found who will 'walk' on this path with us: Salvatore Maffei (Guitar) and Michele Pintus (Drums). These guys are really talented and share with us the will to reach the top of this long way. Soon we will release more news on the album 'Artifact of Annihilation' that should be released around September and on more projects as well.” More...

1349 Displays Live Drawings

While you await the arrival of Norwegian black metallists 1349 to storm the U.S. alongside Marduk, you can feast your eyes on the drawings that artist Kim Holm created of the band performing live:

The Aural Hellfire Legion stated, "From time to time, we (1349) get approached by other artists that find inspiration in our work and want to pay tribute to us. It is a great honor and such an awarding payback for the hard work we put into our art. Every now and then there is an artist that comes along that presents us with something so special that we want to share it and promote their work, and Kim Holm is a perfect example of this. This guy drew the band while performing live and was able to transform the live energy we present on stage into his drawings. Check out his work!"

You can check out Kim Holm's representation of 1349 live both here and on his website and compare it to real life by coming out to see the band on one of the upcoming shows along with labelmates Withered:

Kamelot Signs With SPV, Working On Album

Kamelot has returned to the Steamhammer/SPV fold for a worldwide deal (excluding Japan). The group, surrounding guitarist and composer Thomas Youngblood, is currently working on the drum recordings with renowned sound engineer Jim Morris at the Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, before work on the album is due to be completed at Wolfsburg's Gate studios under the direction of producer Sascha Paeth (Edguy, Avantasia, Rhapsody).

The title of Kamelot's current release will be announced at the end of June, together with the name of the band's new vocalist. However, according to Youngblood, one thing is certain: "Our fans can really look forward to our new record, because it represents Kamelot in every way!"

Youngblood commented on the style and content of the album: "The new songs sound more symphonic and melodic than our last two studio recordings. The material brings to mind albums such as Karma (2001) and The Black Halo (2005). In addition, this will be the best production that Kamelot have ever delivered. Because while other acts tend to opt for low-budget productions due to the difficult market situation, we have gone the opposite way: the new album will be a real statement, in terms of our compositions as well as in terms of our sound."

The album has been scheduled for release on September 24th, 2012 in Europe, September 21st in Germany, and September 25th in North America. Kamelot is set to play a number of festivals (among them Wacken Open Air and Bang Your Head) as early as July and August before embarking on a U.S. tour alongside Nightwish in September/October and a major headliner tour of Europe in November 2012.

"We are more than proud to welcome back one of the best metal bands around here at SPV. From 2005 to 2009 we had already had the pleasure of working very successfully with Thomas Youngblood & Co, which we will continue and increase with the new masterpiece coming in September 2012," says Olly Hahn (A&R SPV/Steamhammer). Belphegor Gearing Up To Record New Album

On Tuesday bassist Serpenth and drummer Marthyn from Belphegor fly over to U.S. shores to start the drum recordings on Wednesday. Erik Rutan [Mana studios/ Florida, St. Petersburg] will be at the helm as producer for the album. The recording sessions and mix/mastering process are set for completion by mid October.

Serpenth states: "All right, a new chapter. These are the last days before we hit the Mana studios in Florida. We're all set. The nine sound collages are faster and more aggressive than on the previous album, 'Blood Magick Necromance.'

Helmuth added, "The last rehearsals turned out fantastic. We get every arrangement to its highest audial potential. Added alot of new haunting and compelling structures/ rhythm parts and tritones intervals: tones that were forbidden by the damn church in middle ages. We're on fire. Expect more shredding, more magick, more of everything."

The release date of chapter #X is being pushed back to January 2013 via Nuclear Blast records, worldwide. During the last six day rehearsal sessions the band shot some original visual impressions, which you can check out at this location. Further studio updates will be released in the near future.

The 69 Eyes Working On New Album

Finland's The 69 Eyes is currently hard at work on the band's tenth studio album in Stockholm, Sweden. The new album will reference the band’s trademark “goth’n’roll” sound best exemplified on the albums "Blessed Be" from 2000 and "Paris Kills" from 2002.

“The last album was recorded in Hollywood adding that special L.A. glam flavor to our sound,” states vocalist Jyrki Linnankivi (aka Jyrki69). “Now this time – as this album is our ‘Made in Sweden’ record – our melodic, Scandinavian melancholy side is rising to the top!”

The 69 Eyes has paired up with the Swedish production team On The Verge. The band’s new album will be released worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records this fall and is the follow-up to 2009’s "Back In Blood," which was produced by American Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Monster Magnet).

DaiTribe Discusses "Epochalypse A.D."

DaiTribe offers a brand of modern metal that both scrapes and soothes. Their debut CD “Epochalypse A.D.” features singing and screaming; distorted and clean guitars and speed and groove. The band used Sterling Winfield, known for his work with Pantera, to mix their album. Although Winfield’s didn’t influence the band to sound like Pantera, the Cowboys From Hell seemed to have left a drop or two of Black Tooth Grin on “Epochalypse A.D.”

Since 1998, DaiTribe has been hard at work on the road and at home in the Chicago area gigging and gaining new fans. Even though the group released “The Second Coming” EP in 2005, “Epochalypse A.D.” is their first full-length. With the addition of singer Rich Collins, DaiTribe has entered a new “epoch” in their career. The band hopes to carve its own niche in an uncertain time in the music industry.
