Tribunal has checked in with the following update regarding the band's new vocalist after the dismissal of ex-Iced Earth vocalist John Greely:
"Hello brothers and sisters, time for the best and biggest update of 2011 for Tribunal! It is official, Tribunal is proud to announce our new lead vocalist, New Jersey native Sonny Zackeo! After many months of literally searching worldwide and sifting through many, many qualified candidates (including some already known vocalists), we made the decision to bring in Sonny for a live face to face audition with the band so we could get to meet and hang out.
"We were more than satisfied within a few minutes of meeting Sonny. With incredible talent, the most professional of attitudes and outlooks, and an awesome personality Sonny will be out in front of Tribunal bringing the metal as only we do. Sonny will be entering the studio to lay down his vocals on some of the songs already posted. Once completed we are going to pull the songs down off the page and repost the new demo versions with Sonny's vocals added. In addition to the Tribunal songs Sonny will be recording, we have decided to throw in a few surprises as well!
"Keep tuned over the next few weeks as we will be posting a report soon as the recording starts!"

British madcap thrashers Lawnmother Deth have been confirmed for this year's edition of Bloodstock Open Air festival in the UK. The band, which was recently covered in our Sunday Old School column, was active in the late '80s and early '90s, before reforming in 2008. The band has since played a number of shows, including performances at Download festival and Damnation Festival.
Lawnmoer Deth is due to headline the Sophie Lancaster stage at Bloodstock on Friday, 12th August and front man Pete "Qualcast Mutilator" Lee comments:
"Bloodstock 2011. Yeah, this is going to work on several levels. First and foremost, a long and overdue chance to play to the bearded masses. Never in the history of festivals has one had a reputation for spouting so much facial choppery; I can only hope that Flymo's fluff is enough to keep 'em happy. It's going to be one big facial love in. Secondly, it's free tickets for Motorbonce, so we're chuffed. And thirdly, the opportunity to headline the Sophie stage was just too good. Her abhorrent murder in 2007 is even more pertinent for me, it was only 10 miles from where I live. If the memory of Sophie on this stage can breed just a little open-mindedness and tolerance then the world is a better place. See you in the pit, beardy weirdies."
For more Bloodstock information, head over to this location. Lawnmower Dethis also due to perform this Saturday, 28th May at Redemption in Derby. Joining them will be Evil Scarecrow, Virus, and more.

07/09 Hollywood, CA The Key Club
08/11 Cologne, Germany Werkstaat

Nader Sadek has posted a music video online for the song "Sulffer," which is off the band's "In the Flesh" album. The clip can be viewed below. Nader comments:
"The video features a character played by Steve Tucker, waist-deep in the primordial waters of creation. Stalactites hang from the ceiling of the cave like slow-drip syringes. Flashes of yellow crystal embedded in the rock walls suggest a fool's gold, sulphur. A byproduct of the petroleum-refinement plants heard in the opening 20 seconds of the video, down the processing chain sulphur makes its way into food and pharmaceuticals as a preservative.
"The effort to preserve life through a petroleum byproduct points to the central paradox of my In The Flesh concept album: the resurrection of dead matter through petroleum extraction, a resurrection that fuels new cycles of death and decay (for is not sulphur a key component of gunpowder?). The song's singer-protagonist himself, a prehistoric warrior who has slain the primeval serpent, sinks into the antediluvian ooze only to rise again, a mechanical butterfly emerging from a toxic chrysalis. He extracts sulphur crystals from the cavern-womb and hurls them toward humanity's machine-gun future. As he sings, 'Reborn as stone of fire / Man again is sulphur,' these crystals violently re-lodge themselves into humankind's waxy flesh, burning off the excess, preserving us as crystalline mineral deposits awaiting yet another resurrection."

"Note: the album will still have Alison's drums on it. Shred will not be on it. Jackler did all the guitars. All of the shows coming up are still on. headbangers. everything. we've found filler dudes for now.
"Also note this: Shred has quit as well. They both quit together. Why? Who the fuck knows! But weve already found a guitar player for skull fist. We will announce it soon enough. but right now.. A DRUMMMERRRR!"

Absentia Lunae has posted the cover artwork online for the band's new album "Vorwärts," which can be viewed below. The band also commented on the new album:
"Musically speaking, we have chosen a different approach and pushed forward the harsh industrial contamination with some new interesting collaborations, we don't want to say much more at this very moment.
"If 'Historia Nobis Assentieur' was a violent catharsis of our inner self, a Nietzschean storm that left nothing but a scenario of ruins, 'Vorwärts' is one step ahead: the sound of the horn to reach higher fields, leaving the wreckage of the past behind.
"Vorwärts tries to merge the spirit of Italian Futurism, the last great artistic movement of the 20th Century, with immortal symbols and messages from different times and places: truth knows no boundaries. Our new logo is a re-interpretation of Yukio Mishima's Tatenokai, also known as 'Shield Society,' not only a symbol of spiritual resistance but an active opposition against the modern decay. We could call this approach 'Archeofuturism' but our will is to go way beyond over it, since Vorwärts represents what we're actively pursuing in our lives. We're building the world under the shape of our blade and we'll retake everything. Resurgat Aurora!"
