Roadrunner Records act The Devil Wears Prada is currently hard at work on a new album in Atlanta’s Glow In The Dark Studios.
The as-yet-untitled new LP, executive produced by Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, with producer / engineer Matt Goldman, is set to arrive this fall and will mark the first LP to be released by The Devil Wears Prada since 2011’s "Dead Throne," which debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200.
To chronicle the record’s progress, The Devil Wears Prada will be releasing studio updates regularly, completely shot, edited, and scored by the band members themselves. In Studio Update #2, we hear from drummer Daniel Williams and take a look at his progress on tracking the album’s drums. Watch the clip below, or find the last video in the series here.
WormHoleDeath has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with DunkelNacht:
"We are extremely honored to announce the long awaited signing from French black/death band Dunkelnacht. Wormholedeath will release their massive debut album titled 'Revelatio' worldwide through Aural Music Group/Wormholedeath Japan. The album was mixed at Realsound Studio (Italy) by Wahoomi Corvi. Release date is due during 2013, still to be scheduled. You can stream the album preview below."
The band also comments: “DunkelNacht is very pleased to start working with Worm Hole Death. From the very first contact, the label has shown a serious and impressive response. Then, Worm Hole Death made a proposal that we could not refuse. Finally, the atmosphere is there and for us, it is very important to work in these conditions, gathering the seriousness and the frienship. We sincerely believe that this deal is perfect for our new album called Revelatio. Now, let’s give way for music and art. “
WormHoleDeath's A&R “Worm” stated: “I have been a fan of Dunkelnacht since I’ve known them and at the end I decided to sign the band since they produced such an intense, emotional and spooky album. They are serious guys, some of them have a school of music and somehow live with and for music, just like me. I also like their visual concepts that are always dark and gloomy. I am really looking forward to release this album that after their mix at Reasound has become a monster. Check the preview out and taste the darkness.” More...

Wodfreca Records, which included among its roster Hrafnblod, Frostwork, and Cruelty’s Heart, has posted the following announcement online about closing down:
"As most of you know, Wodfreca Records was soon to cease its operations. Originally this was planned for after the release of ‘Ealdgesegena – A Tribute to Forefather’, but unfortunately due to a seeming lack of interest and my inability to get any form of confirmation from most of the artists whom originally agreed to take part, I must regretfully now cancel this CD. I apologize to the five or six bands that did confirm, and were already underway with their recordings. I hope these covers will still see the light of day.
"No further copies of any Wodfreca release will be made available through this label. Each was limited to only one hundred, and in the case of Cruelty’s Heart, just fifty. Each was outstanding in its own right, and the artists are free to re-release these albums, or otherwise use the tracks on them, in any way they see fit – so do not despair if you did not manage to get a copy during the label’s brief flurry of existence.
"I’d like to wish each artist that worked with me the best of luck for the future – Hrafnblod has unfortunately ended, and there are extremely limited copies of their last release, a split with Ulfarr left at UKEM Records. Gareth is working on other projects, I believe. Frostwork and Cruelty’s Heart have both now signed with UKEM Records, and a split is planned featuring them both. Aethelruna, my own project, is indefinitely on hold."

A series of posts appeared earlier today on Shavo Odadjian's Facebook profile calling out Serj Tankian for slowing down the process of a new System of a Down album.
System of a Down has now issued the following statement about the situation:
"Earlier today, Shavo posted a few statements on his personal Facebook page that do not reflect the sentiments of System Of A Down as a collective band. These were misleading statements that were made during a temporary state of bad judgment on his part alone.
"To be clear, the full band lineup of Serj, Daron, Shavo and John will be performing all scheduled tour dates. With respect to new SOAD music, although we have not agreed on a timetable for a new album, we all believe that having the four of us do it together is the way to be true to the band and our fans."
The original string of comments on Shavo's page follow:

German Heavy Metal force U.D.O. has recorded a special song for upcoming album "Steelhammer," which will be released on May 24th (May 21st USA). “Basta Ya” comes up with a hot topic - the lack of perspectives for the youth in a united Europe.
“The youth in Europe is in a unique situation at the moment,” vocalist Udo Dirkschneider explains. “They are the first generation to grow up in a united Europe and therefore the first who have to deal with the circumstances this brings. Also, however hard their respective situation might be, they hold the future in their hands.“
Dirkschneider himself lives in Ibiza, Spain, a country where the effects of the Euro crisis left unmistakable marks, with an unemployment rate of 50% among the adolescents. "This is something I really think about a lot," Dirkschneider speaks out. "I’m a family father myself, a father of two now adult kids who both just started their working life. Young people need chances, opportunities to reach something. What happens in Spain right now, is far away from this. It’s obvious that a whole generation is in fear of losing their livelihood."
This is the first track Udo Dirkschneider has recorded in Spanish. "Basta Ya" is a typical shout in Spanish speaking countries to protest against injustice. At the same time it’s a shout of motivation, to force a change. Vitor Garcia of Spain’s Warcy sings “Basta Ya” in a duet with Dirkschneider. More...
