MTM Music has announced the signing of Brasilian Melodic Metal band SCELERATA. SCELERATA is a young and talented band from Brasil, now stepping into the scene with a very technical and powerful melodic metal debut album. Formed in 2003, they had no great interest in doing cover songs but immediately began writing their own songs. Heavy and also a bit progressive in style they wrote powerful metal tracks and began to elaborate them to sophisticated songs with high energy and beats that keep pushing forward.
Influenced by metal heroes like Helloween, Iron Maiden and Dream Theater, SCELERATA's songs represent the new era of modern and melodic but at the same time classic heavy metal music. Ambitious guitar work, fast and aggressive double bass parts and pretentious melodies supported by Carl Casagrandes brilliant voice.
Also live Scelerata already gained some respect while standing on same stages with giants like DEEP PURPLE and ANGRA. One of their biggest supporters Edu Falaschi, singer of ANGRA, is featured on Scelerata´s debut "Darkness And Light", singing the song "Spell Of Time" of that album.
Recorded in Brasil last year and mastered by Dennis Ward at House of Audio Studios, Germany, MTM MUSIC now releases this brilliant debut worldwide.
The tracklisting for "Darkness And Light" is as follows:
01. Land of the Sins
02. Holy Fire
04. The Spell of Time
05. Ethereal Places
07. Darkness & Light
08. Spirits Looking For...
09. Wings to Fly
10. Adonai (Sacred Melodies)

Courtney Love told AOL Music that she plans to sell most of Kurt Cobain's belongings.
"My daughter doesn't need to inherit a giant ... bag full of flannel ... shirts," says Love, former frontwoman of the rock band Hole. "A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to `(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' ? that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just ... sell." "Everyone's been positive and behind me on it," she says. "We'll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity." "I still wear his pajamas to bed. How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt's pajamas?"

Launch Radio Networks reports: OZZY OSBOURNE will release his first album of all-new material in six years, titled "Black Rain", on May 22. When asked why there's been such a gap between studio projects, Osbourne told Launch that it took him a long time to realize he could write and record music while being completely clean and sober. "I used to get so frustrated with myself," he said. "I mean, I thought that you had to get loaded to make songs. I just thought drugs and alcohol are probably the major inspiration of making music, which I truly believed that because I'd never made a record without using it. And I thought it was that was making me creative."
"Black Rain" is Osbourne's first solo effort since 2001's "Down To Earth". The first single, called "I Don't Wanna Stop", arrived at radio two weeks ago.
Ozzy recorded "Black Rain" with the band that backed him on the 2006 Ozzfest tour, consisting of guitarist Zakk Wylde, drummer Mike Bordin and ex-ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson.
Ozzy will headline this summer's "free" Ozzfest, beginning on July 12 in Seattle.
Fans who purchase specially marked copies of "Black Rain" will have a first shot at scoring Ozzfest tickets. The CD's initial pressing will contain a code that allows the user to obtain two tickets through a special web site on June 8, four days before tickets become available to the general public.
You can check out a new song from PHOBIA entitled “Bleed To The End,” off their upcoming split with TOXIC NARCOTIC, over at their official MySpace page.
Legendary fake rockers Spinal Tap will reunite for a performance in London this summer as part of a slate of Live Earth benefit concerts scheduled worldwide for July 7.
All three of the band's original members--actors Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer--will be on hand for the concert, which will also feature the likes of Madonna, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and another reunited blockbuster act, Genesis.
The trio will resurrect the roles they made famous in the 1984 mock-rockumentary, "This is Spinal Tap," to help the fight against global warming. Rob Reiner, who both directed the original film and portrayed documentary maker Marty DeBergi in the movie, will attend the event, according to press reports.
"They're not that environmentally conscious, but they've heard of global warming," Reiner told the Associated Press. "Nigel thought it was just because he was wearing too much clothing--that if he just took his jacket off it would be cooler."
Reiner told the press agency that the band's performance would be preceded by a short film (directed by Reiner) that explains what the group has been up to in recent years. Nigel (Guest) has been raising miniature horses to race, but can't find jockeys small enough to ride them; David (McKean) is now a hip-hop producer who also runs a colonic clinic; and Derek (Shearer) is in rehab for addiction to the Internet.
The 15-minute film will also be shown at the opening night of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Wednesday (4/25). The opening gala will be hosted by Al Gore.
The Live Earth concerts will take place on seven continents on the same day, with profits going to environmental organizations including the Alliance for Climate Protection, the Climate Group and Stop Climate Chaos.
Besides the London show, which will take place in Wembley Stadium, Live Earth concerts are also planned for New Jersey, Sydney, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Shanghai. The lineups for each of the locations can be found at the event's website.
MINISTRY mainman Al Jourgensen has issued the following update:
"Half way done [with the new MINISTRY album, 'The Last Sucker']! Burton Bell [FEAR FACTORY] comes back to Hell Paso may 1st to finish up his vox on two trax he's on – 'End of Days Part I' and 'End of Days Part II'.
"Just got done with the title track — mixed and out the door ('The Last Sucker'). Bixby, my engineer, thinks it sounds like a biker anthem, except he's never ridden a motorcycle in his life.
"Angie [Al's wife] told me y'all seem to like 'Rio Grande Dub' and that's cool coz I think Clayton and JB did some kickass remixes on these songs. Can't wait for you to hear the rest of them. 'Great Satan' and 'Palestina' are my two favorite remixes.
"I should be done with the record by first week in June. Tommy Victor will come to 13th Planet Studios to mix the new PRONG album, so maybe it will be time for me, Tommy, Sin and Raven to set up one of those live chats we know and love so much....
"Meanwhile back to work for me."
The song "Rio Grande Blood (Rio Grande Dubya Mix)", taken from MINISTRY's upcoming album of remixes, "Rio Grande Dub", has been made available for streaming at this location.
13th Planet Records will release MINISTRY's "Rio Grande Dub" in June. The album will feature remixes by Clayton Worbeck (REVOLTING COCKS, STAYTE) and John Bechdel (FEAR FACTORY, PRONG, MINISTRY, FALSE ICONS). Artwork for the CD was created by Lawton Outlaw.
As previously reported, FEAR FACTORY frontman Burton C. Bell Tentatively due in September, "The Last Sucker" will be MINISTRY's final album, and like its two predecessors — 2004's "Houses of the Mole" and last year's "Rio Grande Blood" — it will be politically minded blast at the administration of President George W. Bush.
"It's a trilogy," Jourgensen told Billboard.com in May 2006. "The next one's going to be called 'The Last Sucker', and it's also about this corrupt administration. That seems to be my muse; everyone seems to think I write real shitty music when a Democrat's in office. So we'll do that one, and then me and George Bush go riding off hand-in-hand, into the sunset."
Regarding his decision to put MINISTRY to rest, Jourgensen said, "I've got other things to do. I just started a label (13th Planet Records), and I want to sign some bands and really build it up like I did with WaxTrax in the '80s, not just a vanity label. I think it's time — and I'll be leaving on the top of my game instead of hanging on too long and doing crappy AEROSMITH and ROLLING STONES albums 30 years later."
Heavy Artillery are proud to announce the signing of Las Vegas metal merchants Avenger of Blood. Avenger of Blood have been busy making their mark on the metal underground since 2003 with relentless local and regional gigging as well as multiple appearances at Minneapolis Mayhem festival, Northwest Deathfest and a full U.S. tour with Godless Rising (ex-Vital Remains). While their scathing brand of thrash metal is often compared to such legendary bands as Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction at their finest; Avenger of Blood bring a sound that is unmistakably their own. Look for the release of Avenger of Blood’s Heavy Artillery debut album “The Death Brigade,” scheduled for release in September 2007 and featuring cover artwork by Joe “Motorhead” Petagno.
Avenger of Blood will also be showcased with three exclusive tracks on the much anticipated Speed Kills…Again! compilation from Heavy Artillery, scheduled for release on July 3rd. Eager to take their violent aural assault to the masses, Avenger of Blood will be supporting label mates Merciless Death during much of their “Evil Curse 2007” U.S. tour during August and September. Dates forthcoming.
Launch Radio Networks reports: PAPA ROACH drummer Dave Buckner is not on the road with the band at the moment due to what a press release called "personal matters," and singer Jacoby Shaddix checked in to give Launch the straight story. "Dave, he went to rehab and went to go clean his act up 'cause he was out of his f***ing mind," Shaddix explained. "We were kind of tripping for a minute, but we were like, 'You know what? The best thing is for our friend to just get healthy, you know, get right.'My boy D-Boy's just gotta do a little soul-searching, you know? 'Cause I've been through that same s*** myself, and I've been down that road and that whole nine and it's like, you know, I know how miserable you could get."
Until Buckner returns in June, PAPA ROACH has recruited UNWRITTEN LAW drummer Tony Palermo to fill in. Shaddix told Launch how it felt to have someone different behind the kit. "It was really kind of like scary, 'cause I mean, you know, drummer, it's like every drummer's a little bit different, you know," he said. "But this guy came in and just, he's been ripping it every night. So it's been kind of interesting, it's been different, but it's been really fun."
PAPA ROACH is on the Door to Dorm Tour with HINDER and plays Tuesday night (May 1) at the University of South Carolina in Aiken.
Shaddix also said that following a trip to Europe in June, PAPA ROACH will go out with HINDER and BUCKCHERRY on a two-month U.S. tour beginning in July.
